Is the science proving what we vapers already ‘know’?
How many of you have had people say that your exhaled vapor is bad for them, ‘so don’t blow that smoke near me!’ – treating you and your vaping exactly as if you were smoking a tobacco cigarette?
Out of ignorance – (which just means they don’t know the facts)- they would believe they were protecting their health and their lungs, and without any evidence to say otherwise, all we as vapers could do was to shuffle away and vape with the smokers. We know it is not as harmful, but we don’t scientifically know – or do we?
Well now we have some promising science, that is being put up for doctoral review, and the results look pretty damn fine from here.
What they found was (drum roll please…)
Exhaled vapour is LESS harmful than standing and breathing by the side of the road (that has a few cars going up and down), and they couldn’t find any nicotine in it either!
I know, I almost fell off my chair when they mentioned the nicotine part, and as I have already mentioned – this is up for review – but the authors of the research are positively encouraging scrutiny – as they want the research to mean something – to be of value, not some junk science, which I think is very refreshing.
They did a like for like comparison, testing the same amount of people in the same space – one lot smoked cigarettes, the others vaped – (at different times of course,) and the authors then measured specific substances in the air – like Carbon monoxide, Nitrogen oxide, Volatile organic compounds, and plenty of other bits and pieces that we are not even aware of.
The results are positive for the vaping community, if you would like to read the research yourself – here is the link:
