There is some more information on the recent unsatisfactory test results here.

I thought it best to start a new thread, because it's a long post!

Greetings,

There are two types of chemical analysis:

1.  Qualitative
2.  Quantitative

In the first instance, Qualitative Analysis there is an expectation that a list of all chemical substances contained in the sample would be revealed.  Just what is contained in the product.  The numbers above seem aimed only at the presence of nicotine.  It would be great to get a full spectrum of any chemicals present.

In the second instance, Quantitative Analysis we would expect to find a list of the concentrations of each of those chemical substances.  Again, we're focusing in these results on Nicotine only.

In reading over the first report here, it would seem that a quantitative analysis shows that Platinum Ice contains much less nicotine than intended in the manufacturing process.  This can be for a variety of reasons, I'm sure.

It also brings up an interesting point that the study at the Univ. of Pennsylvania pointed out: e-cigarettes deliver much less nicotine than advertised.  I'm not saying that's bad, it's just a fact that when the concentrations are vaporized, the actual delivery is much less than the content in the liquid.

I must say 'Thank You!' to all those who have posted these reports and offered more testing.  This is important to all of us as your customers and reflects a good faith effort to resolve the questions that have been raised.

Again, thanks!
