I have read on this forum that the Ego-C is compatible with the standard Tornado battery and Tornado passthrough (which is being yo yo'd) http://www.totallywicked-eliquid.co.uk/products/weekly-discounted-selection/weekly-yoyo/tornado-mega-manual-battery-passthrough-product.html that one.

Why then is it when I look at the Ego-c page the batteries are advertised seperately http://www.totallywicked-eliquid.co.uk/products/tornado-ego-c-e-nic/tornado-ego-c-1000mah-manual-usb-2-product.html there.

What is the difference, if any, between these batteries as they look the same to me.

Hi Tony  Grin
The difference is that the mega manual battery passthrough is the standard mega Tornado battery specification;
the eGo-C 1000mah passthrough includes the additional battery refinements of the eGo-C...
5-click on/off function, colour-changing LED on the button to show when the charge is getting low and increased short-protection
go on go on go on go on you know you want it....

I believe the 'C' also has a regulated output.

Where as the Tornado battery starts at around 3.7volts when first charged, then slowly drops in voltage through use until flat; the 'C' battery output is electronically regulated to 3.3v from start until flat for more consistent vaping.

To clarify some things up

The
Tornado
Tornado-T
Tornado-C

Are all "Pulse Width Modulated" at 3.3volts..... some of the bootleg/knock off versions on the market will fluctuate in voltage during use as they do not use a PWM circuit.
The Tornado-C batteries however have added short circuit prevention

As with all Lithium-Ion batteries used in ecigs there voltage off the charger starts off at 4.2v and drops with use.... The Tornado batteries do this as well but that only reflects the battery inside the device. It's output is stabilized and buffered by means of the PWM circuit though and  keeps the output at a very steady and consistent 3.3v . They also run at 3.3v under load meaning while the button is pressed and a atomiser attached.

Mod batteries and non PWM devices will read 4.2v when tested but under load (actual vaping) that number drops closer to the 3.3v mark. You only see this if you test the current with the atomiser attached which not everyone has the ability to do... fresh off the charger voltages under load will vary with standard/high/low resistance atomisers but be slightly higher then the 3.3v mark for a little while then slowly fade to below 3.3v.. I can actually watch the voltage drop during a long inhale off such a device.

There is nothing wrong with either PWM or non PWM setups and much like atomisers it boils down to user preference, style of vaping and demands.

Some prefer a big battery device that will run for days at 3000 mah... some prefer a discrete device and don't mind carrying spare batteries to keep them going throughout the day.

Good post Darth!  Thanks. Smiley

There are even some mods, like the <censored> that claim to proved a constant power level to the atty.  So in theory, you can set it for the power level you like, and then when you change attys (and thus resistance) it will very the voltage to continue to provide the same power level to the new atty. Undecided   Erm, so what was my point? Undecided   Um, don't know really. Huh   Maybe just different strokes for different folks? Undecided

Hi efrenchy  Smiley
The eGo-C cone/base/atty assembly should work on a standard Tornado battery; all the kit is 510 thread compatible...
maybe that standard battery has a post which has been pushed down and could be pried up a tiny bit to make the connection?
Just a thought.... Cheesy

pufferfish im finding im doing this more and more these days, the centre posts keep getting pushed down in the battery or in the atty.

getting a paper clip, we should all have one in our kits by now lol, and just nudging it up a bit always seems to work

So what are these 'Censored' Mods you speak of 8ball.. I've seen you mention this make 'Censored' in another thread?.. seems a funny name for a device? Is it like.. some type of James Bond Mod or something.. like 'Eyes Only' kind of stuff?  Undecided Come on.. don't keep us in the dark with all your secrets!  Huh  Grin

No, it's nothing like that at all VE.  It's more like <censored>.....  Undecided  or maybe <censored>....  Undecided   or if it helps any, you could think of it more like a <censored> or <censored>.   I once told <censored> that you could <censored> if you want to..... but only if you <censored> first, and used a <censored> before and after...... but of course, in the end, I think it all comes down to different strokes for different folks..... Undecided   oh wait!   I said that already!   Oh.... <censored!>. Huh

Huh).   Have a safe and productive journey Mr. Phelps.  And when you're done, we've got another <censored> for you.  This <censored> will <censored> you're <censored>, <censored>, and <censored>.....   better you than me Jim. Grin

Hey Kenneth, sorry for the confusion mate.  VE and I are just taking the mick a bit.  All part of my responsibilities as the forum.....

Although in fairness, I had a little help with this one..... I won't mention any names (VE), but VE knows who he is. Huh   Undecided  or then again.....  maybe he doesn't. Huh
