Hello TW.

Now for starters I realise the nature of the business and safety measures that have to be taken but here is my issue.

Royal Mail, here in the UK, are a pain in the ass. I have a notice on my door saying ring doorbell for deliveries but it rarely affects anything. So lets say I order low resistance atomisers once a month or a battery. Everytime this happens the post man takes it back to the sorting office and I either have to travel a few miles to pick it up (don't have a car) or I have to pay to get it redelivered to a nearby post office. Not only that I have to wait an extra 48hours in order to pick it up.

This happens everytime I order something. Royal Mail won't do anything about it, they say no-one was in. I am in 99% of the time.

There is no danger for it to be posted through my letterbox without being signed for. There are no children or pets in the house.

Is there any way of just having regular post. I really don't mind still paying the full price of signed for mail.

Its frustrating. Rant over.

Hi there Culturebloc.  I can understand your frustration.  As a matter of interest, do you live in London?  It was the only place I ever had much of a problem with Royal Mail.

They are lazy bar stewards .....yes they will try and deliver but prefer to wait for less than 30 secs for you to answer...jobs worth men IMHO. Been tried left.......not like it should be..but what is?

And they are scruffy gits...they used to be professional ...but times are a changing !
For the better?

Hope you can find a solution Culturebloc.

Yeah the mail in London isn't perfect by any means but I find Royal Mail to be far ahead of some companies when it comes to delivering items (and that's saying something)

I used a firm who when sending me out a hot water dispenser.. left the first one just out on the street all day (Someone stole it) Then I finally got one but it was smashed to bits. So when I finally filled the thing with water.. it leaked everywhere. The best one though, was posting me some books where someone had ripped it open and taken everything from inside?.. best bit was.. they still posted me the empty carton through my letterbox!  Shocked Unbelievable.  Angry

The trouble I've found is that in London, there seems to be a different postman on our round every week? It's not like the old days where you could get to know these people and sort these little things out! sigh..  Cry (Cue  Dvorak's Symphony No. 9, Opus 95), or as it's better known 'The Hovis bread music'  Wink

Well, I think London does seem to suffer slightly more in that regard but I don't have much info to go on in terms of Nationwide performance/ complaints etc.. Though like I said, the delivery problems listed were down to another private company that do a lot of work for Amazon, They are not affiliated with Royal Mail as far as I know. I'm just saying that I understand how frustrating it can be as I've been in that situation a few times recently!  Smiley
