Hi All,

we have discussed this bung in a number of threads in different parts of the forum, I can't go looking for all of them so hope the mods will leave this in a central place.

As I have said i like to sue them and fit them shape side down, i reckon the help preent drting out.

However many people commented they didn't even notice them in the packing.

I have just opened a pair of new (extra) cartos, they do not have this silicon bung/cap, if it is supplied with a tank and fits the carto why is it not supplied with a new carto, which comes with a white mouth piece like the black one on CE3 but not as thick/deep and a softer material.

Lots of us will use a carto per flavour not a tank per flavour so these need to come with the carto please .

The sample DCT's that I trialled, for writing the instructions didn't come with a seal.. hence the printed instructions not mentioning it  the DCT seems to work equally well either with or without it, but I do think it helps prevent any seepage if the DCT is left horizontal, but having said that, I have had one of the original sample DCT's half full of RY4 (Yiak!! what people find nice about this is beyond me   lol) floating about my vaping box for a month or two with no leaking.

I have a 6ml DCT tank on the go now that as an empty tank, so all I'm vaping is what is in the cartomizer itself.. it's not burning yet ..maybe I should fill it!

There is no definitive answer to the way the seal fits into the cartomizer, I have asked the question and still awaiting a reply. The guide below suggest flat side uppermost, purely for the reason it is easier to pick out with a paper-clip if needs be, although I don't think it is necessary to prime the cartomizer again after the initial filling unless:

A. You vape the tank and cartomizer completely dry.
B. You are vaping at a high voltage.

Filling Guide:

It is important to remember when priming a new unused DCT cartomizer for the first time that you take your time to ensure the e-liquid is soaked well into the filler material. Each DCT kit will contain 1 silicone seal which is used after the cartomizer primed.

1. Remove the aluminium drip tip.

2. Holding the whole DCT at an angle drip 4 to 5 drops of e-liquid into the cartomizer,  avoid allowing the e-liquid to enter the central  bore of the cartomizer, adding 4 to 5 drops at a time, slowly rotate the cartomizer. it will take 20 to 30 drops to prime the cartomizer

3. After priming the cartomizer, withdraw the cartomizer a short way from the tank, enough to allow you to fill the outer tank with e-liquid, when the tank is filled sufficiently, push the cartomizer back into position.

4. Insert the provided silicone seal flat side up into the cartomizer, replace the drip tip and your DCT is fully primed and ready to be fitted to the battery.

5. After fitting to the battery, take 2 cold priming vapes without pressing the power button, this is to get the air circulating, after this the DCT will be ready to vape.

Further fillings of a previously filled cartomizer will not require the initial priming procedure.

I have opened a new carto & no silicon bung.
If the bung is necessary surely it should be included with the carto.
As terrier points out “ Lots of us will use a carto per flavour not a tank per flavour so these need to come with the carto”

Hi cyborg,

they may choose tp resolve the problem by not puting them in with a tank, then we will all ask

a) why were they originally here then.
b) why not add them to arto packs or even fit them to the carto,

They come with the tanks, not the cartos. Seems a bit strange to me - it would be much better if there was one in each carto

Ok so after some suggestions from you guys I've been vaping with the bung in which seems to have made no noticable difference to the wadding drying out at the top. I noticed when I popped off the drip-tip a minute ago that there was a build up of liquid on top of the bung. That makes me wonder if it should go in the other way around, (flat face down) so the liquid would run back down into the carto potentially keeping the top of the wadding moist... long shot maybe as there wasnt a huge amount of liquid there but just a thought.

I'll be honest, I don't use the bung at all, to much hassle to keep taking it out and putting it back in.  Smiley

Perhaps I'll take that back, i found it quite tricky to put in the other way around. After vaping the 6ml tank for a while with the bung in though I would say that the wadding does appear to have stayed more moist, could all be in my head though Smiley

I noticed that the wadding in my 3.5ml has started to get lose, its all fluffed up at the top after about 12ml, could just be the norm but I felt it wasn't helped by the wadding being dry. I'm just speculating of course... i know nuffink Smiley

Jason has tweeted about new DCT video on you tube.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NN0a3Fcsxq8&feature=youtu.be&a

it clearly shows the silcon plug and it is USED, ( flat side up).

We need these in with cartos, and some supplying for the cartos we have already bought.

Why would you want to add rubber that can taint the flavour to a carto ?
Just cos TW kit comes with it,dont mean you need it.ignore the instructions .YouTube is your instruction manual
Carto tanks have been out ages, they just new to TW . i've never see the rubber thing before with any other tanks or carto's.
Been using  TW's Carto tank since Friday without the rubber thing and its vaping perfect .then again its only a carto with increased capacity so nothing new or ground breaking other than its polypropylene(same stuff syringes are made from)
Binned my rubber washer as i do with the clearo ones too,the less silicone rubber involved the better imo.

I have used a number of cartos and yep they had some form of silicon insert, now you may choose to ignore them, others prefer to use them.

Sorry for the delay.
We are going to order some bungs in the next couple of weeks so that they will be available.

We have also added and addendum to the DCT Page on the website and will be amending the instructions going forward.

*Addendum: The supplied instructions have not included the use of the silicone seals provided, this is an error, and they should be placed into the cartomizer flat side up to prevent the wadding material drying out.

Thanks
Louise

Good to see replacements are going to be available.
Even better if they are in with the carto
