i hope i'm not foolishly re-posting the same question as someone else.
but, does the tornado t battery have to be charged for the general recommended 8 hours before use on the first charge??
i read that in many sites for other models, and i'm not clear if that is the case on this particular model. i just put it on it's first charge now.

thank you!

thank you. i actually do have a quick follow up. don't want repost a new topic though, so if anyone reads and wants to answers, it would be appreciated.

the paper i mentioned say i don't need to do the 8hr charge, since come batteries come partially charged so it only requires a few hours plugged in. mine came partially charged.
well, i plugged it it and it showed green after about a half hour. do i still keep it plugged in for a few more hours, (as i would past the green on a 8hr charge)
or unplug it??
i just want to maintain the battery the best i can. and this has confused me a bit, (even with my other, mini type model)

Thanks!!

Once it's green charging will stop.... Just remove it from the charger.

Leaving it on the charger will not help it's life span any or condition it. Once off the charger the batteries will hold there charge pretty well.

Once the battery is charged leaving in the charger doesn’t do anything as the charger stops charging.
Apparently  Lithium Ion Batteries have no memory effect so can be partially charged / discharged / toped up with no detrimental effect.

thank you cyborg and darth vapor!
this was bugging me since my last model. i knew that overcharging can kill, so the whole 8hr thing through me off. i think like that for some reason.

that's why i'm glad this forum even exists. otherwise, i could've killed my battery.

i just wasn't sure about ask. to be honest, didn't want to feel stupid for asking a question that the paper comes with answers(although, it was only a partial answer, which still confused me lol)

thanks! now i get to finally try this out

One thing I would add is that Li/ion batteries go against everything we've been conditioned to believe about rechargeable batteries. In the past we constantly told to fully drain batteries before recharging in order to prevent the so called 'memory effect'.

Lithium batteries do not suffer from this phenomenon; further they will generally live three times as long if they are recharged when they are around half discharged, so don't be shy about charging them at the end of the day even if they're going strong.

If however you are going to be storing batteries for a long time, they deteriorate more slowly if stored at less than fully charged.
