Its not really been a problem for me but I do see other struggling with it...

If you screw the DCT onto a battery a little too tight it can be a bit of a pain to get off, I think this could easily be rectified by making the flange plate of the carto with a flat edge, a D shape if you like, make the end cap of the DCT with a D shaped recess and problem solved as the flat edges would bite together and you'd be able to twist the tank itself to unscrew it, possibly wouldn't work as well if the o-rings were worn but I think it might be worth a look?

Just a thought Smiley

Speaking of o-rings, whats the latest news on getting spares?

Good point tez.
I tend to hold the drip tip and the Tank at the same time as I unscrew.
+1 for the spare o-rings.

Got a feeling replacement tubes will be needed also.
Accidents and damages with age ya know. a total rebuild kit

A mating recess would be the answer, however this would mean a milling process which would add a significant cost to manufacturing; they can be a pain to loosen sometimes.

The bottom end cap needs to be modded is all, the proper cartos for the DCT actually have the shaped flange already (i missed that as I've not used the original DCT cartos much). The end caps should last a long time so imo its worth paying a little extra for Smiley
