Been using an adapter on my sd mk2 and was using a ce2, was on another website and saw some cheap ce2 and ce3s but ce3 looked more like ones I had so got it. A week or so later the spring in the sd had been crushed, the button had unscrewed so thought it was that. Following week did it again and button fine so looked at spring and it had slightly compressed again, touched it and was boiling. Any help?

I dont know alot about these since i only used the ce2's the clearomizers. but i believe

ce2 = clearomizer where the coil is up at the mouthpiece and the wick draws liquid up to the coil form the tank that you fill.
ce3 = smokymizer where the coil sits at the bottom near the battery and liquid is drip fed to the coil.

Either way it sound like you have encountered a short so the coil has retracted to prevent further damage. Its a safety feature to prevent the battery being damaged.

It must have been a bad atty. I believe both the ce2 and ce3's were updated due to this problem as well as cracking and leaking.

Most of the old ones were sold with a statement detailing that this could happen hence they were cheap or at least this was stated on the TW website obviously i dont know about other sites they might not have told you this

Anyway best thing to do is dismantle the screwdriver and take off the atty.

Get some tweezers or pliers and pull the spring back to its original position then give it a clean with some tissue and maybe if required fine wire wool to clean up the contact then screw back together and DONT use the same atomizer as its most likely the culprit.

Oh I noticed you said you were using an adapter as well. Again if its one of the old adapters they also had a tendency to short out the SD so it was also changed to a new design last year I think so depending on how old the adapter is could also be that but since you mentioned cheap ce3's and thats something that you have changed I would still bet on the atty

Hi Spike

Kenneth is absolutely correct here - so thanks Ken Smiley

Obviously we cannot vouch for our competitiors CE3's but ours have been made a lot more robust since problems experienced with our first batches.

Best thing to do is as Kenneth has sugessted. Take everything apart, clean al connections and put on a new atty.

Let us know how you get on.

Thanks
Louise

Don't forget to check the adapter. If it is lose tighten it up and that will fix your problem. Check the adapter first and if it's not lose get rid of that CE3 cause it's definitely shorting it. Wink
