I first bought a lavatube from somewhere else that did not last that long! Being a TW customer I bought the torpedo a few days ago I it is much better than first one!!! One thing I have noticed is that the led does not flash when the battery gets low? I still get a fine vapour as low as 3.1v but when down to 2.9v the display seems to turn off and the unit  SEEMS to be off! I have spoken to member of staff that says it should flash and to send it back to be looked at. Please remember the unit is only a week old!! I explained that apart from the led the unit is great and am reluctant to part with it after only a week!! Also when I got it the charger was faulty and had to be replaced with no problem.

My concern is that this may affect the battery from being recharged at the correct time but the unit is really good! We agreed that I had a one year warranty on the unit and if I was happy that to see how it goes! Could you please talk to someone technical on this to confirm that it is only a minor problem and that the unit should shut of at 2.9 to 3 volts hence not letting the battery completely flat!

Also my old one lasted about 4 months as when you pressed the button no power went to the cart and you had to press it several times for it to work. This got worse until it stopped working completely.

I have now read the same problem seems to affect lots of users, but if this should happen again to me it will be covered under warranty !!

Thank you
Mark

Hi Mark

I have spoken with a member of our technical team about this and I can confirm that the device does shut off at 2.9 to 3 volts. This is to prevent over discharge on the battery.
It just sounds as though the LED that lets you know this is about to happen is not functioning correctly.

If you could email me with your details, I will be more than happy to replace this for you for a fully functioning device:

Just wanted to let you know with my multiple purchases of the Tornado.. regular and mega.. the unit only flashes when needs to be charged.. no further vaping allowed on it.   I always have extras.  The products have all functioned longer than advertised with the Tornado.   I am not a lucky person.  I've just a quality product.

Thanks Totally Wicked!

I can’t say I ever noticed the display flash but I never looked for it either, I would imagine that the position of the screen on the Torpedo coupled with the way I hold it  would make it hard to notice.
Something to look out for on the next flat battery.

Lol Cyborg, I'm in the same club....haven't noticed it, and to be honest don't think I would see it anyway, unless it was in the dark as the view is obscured normally by a Mega Dual Coil Carto.  Cheesy

The screen should flash 10 times before shutting down, but I think you would be lucky to see this unless you were watching the screen all the time. I just check the battery life occasionally, I'd swap the battery once it got to 3.2 (using 7 clicks of the red button to check the current state of the battery charge).
