I have a 3.5ml DCT which I'm using with a Tornado manual battery. When I prime the carto (drip from the top), I get vapor and everything is fine. But, after a while, even though there is plenty of juice in the tank, I get no vapor, and the juice level is not going down.

So, could I be holding it wrong? Do you hold it horizontally or vertically? Does it matter? Is there only one hole? If so, where is it? Could it be that this one hole is not submerged in the juice?

I tried to do a dry draw (not pressing the battery as I draw once or twice). After that it seems to have enough vapor for about 2 draws. Then, back to no or very little vapor.

I've only started this tank 3mls ago. So, it hasn't been too long... Could it be the carto itself?

Any help and comments are greatly appreciated.

thanks all!

Hi luckygirl,
I also ust the 3.5ml DCT and I have noticed that when it is full
It doesn't wick properly so what I do after I draw on it is give it
a few dry draws and also tap the side of the tank and it soon starts
working properly. Also if you have used all the juice in the carto
you must re prime it again or you will damage it beyond use.

Hope this helps Steve

Hey SMonkey,

Yep, I keep re-priming the carto, but the juice in the tank is not being used. Now I know this for sure, because since yesterday morning the level has not gone done. I've tried giving it a few dry draws (not pressing the battery as I draw), and tapping it, but somehow the juice is just not going into the cart. Sad

Is there anything else I can do? I really like this set up, I just wish I could get it to work...

This is stating the obvious.
You say “ Is there only one hole? If so, where is it?”
No insult to your inelegance intended but you did use the correct carto with the tank didn’t you?

Hi Cyborg,

Yes, I did use the correct carto, as it is the only one that came with the tank. Smiley I did see that one hole that you show in the picture, and I do try to make sure that it's submerged when I draw. So, I guess, that's one more thing that is not the problem.

What do you recommend I check next?

thanks!

This is stating the obvious again. Wink
You did give the carto a really good prime didn’t you.
Apart from having a dud carto I can’t think of anything to help.
I have had no problems at all with the DCT’s so haven’t had to do any trouble shooting with them.

Yes, I did give the carto about 20 drops (in the beginning). It actually vaped fine the first day. This problem started occurring on day 2. I kept priming the carto, and while there is juice in the carto, it's fine. As soon as the vapor disappears, I know that I have to prime it again, which I did. But, then, it's not using the tank at all.

It has to be the juice not getting into hole. One thing about these is you CAN and SHOULD draw a little harder than you would if using a tank system. It sounds like your draws are just very soft. Try taking more aggressive draws, not to aggressive but harder than you would normally. Wink

I too am not having any real problems since I've had my DCT
so am stuck for a solution.

I'm sorry I can't think of anymore to help you but please stick with
it and don't give up. Maybe purchase a few more carto's and try a fresh
one.

Ok, thanks everyone. I'll try to draw harder. Wink

And, I did order 4 new cartos. We'll see if that helps.

it could also be that the hole is not punched all the way through.  you should empty your tank and remove the carto.  stick a pin into the hole and make sure that it goes through.  if it does not, then you should finish off the punch with a sharp object.

i'm having a similar problem with mine going dry 6ml tank, could it be that 30% VG is just to thick for the hole ?

Just an update -
I got 4 new cartos for my DCT, and I'm doing what Tezz suggested - leaving the bung off, and topping off every now and then. Also, for every 5 -6 puffs, I take a couple of deep dry draws (making sure the bubbles come up from the carto hole).  This seems to be working so far. I went through about 2mls so far, and the carto does seem to be sucking in the liquid in the tank.

I'm on day 2 and second fill on the tank right now. I have not gotten to the point, as I did at first, when there is no vapor. So, so far so good. So, I guess in summary:

 - top off to keep the carto from going dry at the top
- dry draws to make sure the liquid in the tank is getting absorbed

Other than these "work arounds" I really love my DCT. The taste is amazing. NO LEAKING!!! Nice throat hit. It's just heaven. Smiley
Thanks every one for helping out!

luckyGirl, I have never used a bung and my DCTs have worked perfect every time.  i don't even have a need to top off.  i just normally wait until it is just above the hole and then i refill.  i am glad to hear that you are having a better time with these.  let us know how if how you are doing going forward.   Smiley

This was really helpful, I thought my DCT was under producing vapour.

That seems to be the problem with these things.... unless you happen to get 1 that is working perfectly you will go through all of this....
I agree with a couple of the post... the atty that came with my DCT was defective and pretty much reduced to just DDing. Luckly (or unlucky) I purchased 5 more boxes of backup atty's....... I have went through 2 more in about a month due to not wanting to "dry pull" myself into daily headaches...
I gave in and have went back to the CE2 ultimate in hopes Jason will figure out a way to bring the CE2 atty to the 6ML tank..
Any ideas feel free to message me.

Another update. Almost a few hours after I typed up the previous post, my DCT atty died. Really it did. I was doing everything right, I swear. So, this is the second atty that dies after 2 days. Now this is pissing me off, and honest, I don't get pissed off easily. Grrr. I have 3 more attys, so I'll keep you posted. Right now I'm just totally discouraged.
