I'[ve accumulated a pile of flavor concentrates and am having NO luck with them.

If there is any flavor in the mix, I'd have to be generous to say I could tell it was there.

I'm mixing my own from a spreadsheet I picked up here a year or so back.

Patriot flavors I have are orange, orange creme, strawberry, root beer and grape.  In DV I got the orange blossom.

No matter how much or little I mix in there is just no flavor worth mentioning.

The preloaded carts for the tank in strawberry are really good flavor wise.  Kind of on the expensive side though.

Any thoughts appreciated!

What setup are you using? What type of atty's/cart/cartos and are they new/old?

Check out these posts they may help:

What sort of mix ratios are you doing?  I find those PR flavors to be very strong in my mixes, particularly the strawberry.  I typically mix those at 15% or a little less

On an additional note, if you like what's in the pre-filled Tank carts, it's this juice range:

Cheaper to buy the bottles of juice than to keep buying pre-filled carts Wink

Using the mega tank and everything is new but the atomizers are broken in (no longer stink of manufacturing oils).

The data from the spreadsheet I am using:
====== start calc =====
CREATE YOUR OWN E-LIQUID                   Additonal Instructions
Step 1   Enter Strength (in mg) of the liquid you are cutting: 36 <------ Enter your information in the yellow squares.
Step 2   Enter Desired Final Strength: 12  <------
Step 3   Enter Desired Batch Size (ml): 15  <------
Step 4   Enter # of drops that equals 1 ml (usually 20):  20  <-----
Step 4     Customize Your Mixture:  Must = 100%
Commercial E-liquid 33.00%  Adjust the values in yellow so that they equal out to 100%.  They MUST be equal to 100%
   Water        2.00%
   Alcohol      0.00% <------
   Flavoring    5.00% <------
   VG        60.00%
   PG         0.00%
              100%

Step 5   CREATE YOUR E-LIQUID USING ML # of ML
Commercial E-liquid 5.0   Number of ML's per item to combine into your mixing jar to make your E-liquid
   Water               0.3
   Alcohol             0.0 <------
   Flavoring           0.8 <------
   VG                  9.0
   PG                  0.0

Step 5 CREATE YOUR E-LIQUID USING DROPS # of Drops
Commercial E-liquid  99   Number of drops per item to combine into your mixing jar to make your E-liquid
   Water                 6
   Alcohol               0  <------
   Flavoring            15  <------
   VG                  180
   PG                    0
======= End Calc ======

Took a while to convert this to text from the spreadsheet, hopefully it is readable.

Noticed that the DV recommendations say 15%, that much is VERY bitter but no taste to speak of.

I don't use PG in that it drys me out badly.

Thoughts appreciated!

What juice are you using for the nic? Looking at your list of flavours they should all be okay at around the 15% mark, but from experience I can say that the Orange Blossom, Orange and Orange Creme flavours are more subtle than many and as the tank system does (again, in my experience) mute some flavours quite markedly that may be the cause of some of your problems, low flavour strength, mild flavours, being muted all mean poor flavour. The Rootbeer and Ripe Strawberry PR flavours though I have found to be good strong tasting mixes (Again, mixed at about 15% flavour). When i make up a 10ml batch all I do is put 1.5ml flavour in a 10ml bottle and top it up with Herc VG unflavoured, then tweak the flavour as needed if it's a bit weak.

The nic juice is TW red unflavored at 36.

That was the ticket!  I took the recommendation from that spreadsheet which was WAY low.  Adding a bit more didn't help, tripling it is getting there.

Mixed up a 10ml batch last night with the strawberry and it is MUCH better.  Maybe 20% to get up to where the prefills are.

Also mixed up a batch of the DV orange blossom and will try that later today.

Thanks, MUCH appreciated!  I'm on the road to success now!!!!!!

Glad you are getting there Fox3. When I started mixing I found I needed to use 20-15% flavouring for many of the mixes, but nowadays i rarely have to go much above 15%. The strange thing is that too much flavour can taste worse than too little, so whenever you are mixing keep notes, especially when you find what works for you, but be prepared to tweak your recipes as your tastes change over time.
Happy vaping.

I have the same problem with the PR. I mix it at around 20% to 30%. I have orange, root beer and peach. I have also noticed the longer the liquids sit before you use it the more the taste comes out. I usually let my mixes sit for about 3 days up to a week before I use them.

some flavors are weaker than the others.  in particular, the orange flavors seem a little weak.  I usually mix 20 to 25 % flavor on most of my mixes.  when I first started mixing, I was  using too little flavoring and it tasted horrible to me.  It almost put me off from DIY.  I persevered though and I can now mix somewhat competently, IMO.
