I can't help you, but maybe you can help me. I purchased several bottles of PR Double Apple Shisha last year. I still had a few till recently. I traded a member on the forum. After trying it out, he ordered a few bottles from the yo-yo sale, but stated the juice tasted different. The older juice was had more apple and less tobacco and the new juice is vise-versa. IMO, that would be perfect for me, since i thought it was too Appley...(i know, i tend to make up my own words.) So i ended up trading another bottle of my older juice for the newer juice. It should be here tomorrow and I can't wait to try it. After my long winded speech...i am wondering if you found this to be true as well. Cheers...
Personally, I have not noticed any
consistent change to the flavor of double apple shisha other than some small variation in color or flavor from batches I mix. I mix two 18mg 30ml bottles with one 36mg 30ml bottle to get a 24mg batch of 90 ml. This at times can sometimes be a tad sweeter or lean towards tobacco from batch to batch. The color also changes from more goldeny-orange to more orangy-golden (I can make up words too
) between batches because the 36mg bottles are various shades of deep redish-orange, while the 18mg is usually a consistant golden color. My last order was in July 2011 for five 30ml bottles of 36ml and ten bottles of 18mg PR Double Apple Shisha. I have little recall prior to that because I had stopped vaping and decided to go back to vaping after I fell off the wagon and started smoking analogs. I made it a year without either and vaping made that possible. Higher strength nicotine has kept me satisifed saved for an analog on special occasions/holidays when I allow myself a couple and normally I'm repulsed by their harsh flavor which is a good thing.
The one thing I can say for certain is the 36mg Double Apple is very strong and taste to me more tobacco than apple, but I really think some of that is due to the nicotine. I have postulated that it's very possible that it contains a higher ratio of high nicotine mg strength tobbaco base cut with double apple flavoring/pg; whereas the 18mg is a double apple base with a small amount tobbaco flavoring added.
The best thing you can do to tweak the flavor is to add a small amount PR double apple to make it sweeter or add small amount of PR tobacco flavoring to make it less sweet.
I am not sure what tobacco flavoring they use. I do know TW sells at least 5 different Tobacco flavorings in the Patriot Range. Keep in mind that the nicotine strength will reduce by cutting with the extra flavoring which comes in 5ml bottles in a base of PG. In other words go easy on it.
Im guessing the Tobacco flavoring they use is the PR Red Label Tobbaco, but I have not tried yet.
I placed a large ordered yesturday (during their YOYO promotion) for 30 bottles of 30ml PR Double-Apple Shisha in 18mg/36mg and wiped them out of 36mg! When the price fell 42% on a "5 pack of 30ml Patriot Range", I placed my order deciding it was better to have a whole year supply now if I am unable to recreate the flavor.
I do know that the higher the nicotine strength above 18mg the more nicotiny-mediciny/less-sweet it is perceived. Nicotine stuns your tastes buds. I also notice the perceived sweetness increases during the day as I vape and my mouth gets acclimated to the nicotine letting the flavors become more pronounced.
I had too many problems with tanks (leaking, flavorless draws, wicking issues, tight draw, fiddling with wicks, too expensive for mega-version) and cartos (lack of flavor). I can't post the type of Clearomizers I use because the moderator will remove it, but TW doesn't sell the type of clearomizer I use. If you have the forsight and
vision you can search around for them. They hold 2.5ml of fluid (or 1.5ml or 3.5ml variants, but the 2.5ml seems to be the sweetspot for size and reliability of wicking action), with a fat dry wick suspended by a hollow metal rod with a ceramic cup on top and a nichrome wire wrapped around the wick positioned above the cup where the mouth piece rest above it. They are easy to dry-burn to clean each week. They don't leak (newest ones) and provide the perfect draw and warm vape with perfect flavor. Their is a huge difference in perceived flavor between cartos (least), tanks (less), and clearomizers (more).
