Here is my (very first) review for the new Red Label mint flavour concentrate

Equipment
This review was carried out using a Tornado Tank with regular atomisers (cleaned and blown out), freshly washed tanks with new caps and fully charged manual batteries.

Appearance/ smell
The liquid is crystal clear and has a reasonably low viscosity. Drips well. Really minty, sharp clean smell. Drooling... Tongue

Mixing
Mixed using 36mg Herculian (VG based) with AG mix (80% VG/20% distilled water) to 18mg nicotine strength. Flavour was mixed at 7.5%, 10% and 12.5% respectively with a target yield of 2ml for each.

Testing
Tested in three separate ‘sittings’ to avoid flavour fatigue.

Red Label concentrate at 7.5% (20 drops Herc./ 17 drops AG/ 3 drops flavour)
Started at 7.5% since some pre-mixed flavours are mixed around this level (please correct me if I’m wrong!). On the inhale, there was a clean fresh minty taste with a little throat/ lung hit which was easily manageable for me.  On the exhale there was some residual flavour but not much. With repeated vaping, the flavour diminished somewhat and my atty heated up pretty quickly. I would say that this is similar in flavour strength to (or maybe slightly stronger) than the Titan premixed menthol e-liquid. Not enough for me, I’m afraid!

Red Label concentrate at 10% (20 drops Herc./ 16 drops AG/ 4 drops flavour)
This was slightly better for my taste. Detected a slight tinge of eucalyptus and escaped vapour smells a little like caramel although this may just be the sweet smell of the AG. A little more throat hit this time which I think may end up being a little harsh with continuous vaping for the all VG/AG mix vaper. Again my atty heated up very quickly—whether due to the age of my atty/ frequency of vaping or something else—I’m not too sure. I did boil/ blow out atties between attempts, so I don’t know?! Still not enough for my taste buds though probably enough TH-wise.

Red Label flavour concentrate at 12.5% (20 drops Herc./ 15 drops AG/ 5 drops flavour)
Better again, flavour-wise and a little ‘tongue-stinging’ with continuous vaping. Throat started to get irritated latterly but probably due to the vaping rate. I’m guessing this would be too strong flavour-wise for most folks but easily vapable for those with non-existent taste buds or menthol flavour diehards!

Mixing with other concentrates
Tried mixing a couple of different flavours with existing mixed menthol which would have reduced both the concentration of menthol (slightly) as well as the nic strength. Black cherry is very bad with this mint concentrate. I can’t explain exactly why but neither flavour comes to the fore and they don’t ‘go together’. It actually tastes like eating fruit straight after brushing your teeth! A complete mis-match! Real tabs works okay with this concentrate (perhaps a sort of common caramelly taste—to me anyway!) Reminds me of minty chewy toffees. That said, I’m not sure I would choose to vape this combo very regularly.

Overall comments
If you like any of the minty flavours this Red Label Mint concentrate would suit you well. For me if the smell had translated to taste, I would have been a very happy bunny!

Carol’s taste buds may well be in better shape and she will be reviewing this with a higher PG mix, so watch this space...

Yes, I know, Astecks...sorry... Embarrassed I really wanted to give it a completely brilliant review (seems ungrateful otherwise, doesn't it Shocked) I am hoping Carol's review will redeem this poor little flavour (which will probably be brilliant for anyone without decimated taste buds!)

Great review Bug cant wait

Carol

Posted the bottle this afternoon! I have no idea when it will arrive giving royal weddings...public holidays...etc! A though occurred to me after I had posted it...Do you feel up to trying 15% (or higher?!) I should have thought to do that Huh

Well done Bug Smiley

Thanks saintj Grin It's a bit nerve wracking!!

Oh dear Shocked ...the pressure.... Please wait until Carol's review has been posted before making a decision on trying this flavour...I have come to the conclusion since posting my review that my tastebuds are actually 'pushing up the daisies'  Embarrassed

Learning point for self: don't go offering your services for any more reviews until you are off analogues completely... Huh

2nd Red Label flavour concentrate review--Mint

Thanks to TW & Bug me and my hubby also got to test this

Here Our (very first) review for the new Red Label Mint flavour concentrate
Be Nice to us LOL

Equipment Used
This review was carried out using a Tornado Tank with regular atomisers
My atomisers and tank is new with new cap fully charged manual batteries.
Hubby's atomisers was Freshly Cleaned - New tank with New Cap

Appearance / Smell
The liquid is clear,  Drips well. Smell Minty but not to strong,

My Mix
I using P1/Ice 54 PG based with AG mix (90% PG/10% AG)  11mg nicotine strength.
Flavour was mixed at 10% then 15%

Hubby's Mix
PG based with AG mix (80% PG/20% AG)  0 Nicotine
Flavour was mixed at 10% then 15%

We both think 15% was great, not to strong both could vape all day.

My review on 10% Flavouring / 10% VG -  11mg then 15%
On the inhale, there was a fresh mint taste with a light throat hit
On the exhale there was a light Menthol flavour
This new atomisers was heated up pretty quickly.  so i left it a few mins then, when back to it,
just the same,  don't ask me why but i removed the new cap, and put a old cap on it
and oo my god this was a better taste,
On the inhale, there was a fresh mint taste still not to strong, very nice,  with a bit throat hit
On the exhale it was still a light Menthol flavour
I could use this for a good few hours to vape my head off lol
its not to strong at 10% very nice , Menthol / Mint after taste but goes away fast
15% was a lot better but still not to strong,

Hubby's 10% Flavouring 0 Nic / Then 15%
On the inhale, there was a fresh mint taste with a nice throat hit
On the exhale there was not a lot of mint flavour left but says it was still ok
Hubby says it was a fresh Vape nice and smooth something he could use all day
but not over powered with it.
I also removed his new cap from the tank, just to see what he says
but i didn't says what i had done
right away he says , i added more flavour, i didn't all i done was the same
remove the new cap and put a one of the old hard caps back on

i had a poor flavour with the tank for a few weeks now,
and with the old caps my flavour is better.

Overall comments
I would says this is a Fresh / Nice / Mint taste yet i don't think it to strong
throat hit fine but i only made the juice at 11mg

Would i add this to my list, YES would my Hubby like it YES
i also think you could add this to other flavours and it would not over power them

Bug and Carol great reviews! Wink

I think this is going to be on my next order... just waiting for the red label to be available!
I think I would mix it with some menthol, and that way I might be able to get a bit closer to finding
a mix similar to 'titan menthol' because I don't think that is just menthol alone. I think it has some mint
in there too!

So thanks guy's - I will be ordering some of this Cheesy

Great review, Carol (and hubby!)! Some similarities, and some differences Smiley [I feel so relieved Smiley ]

Interesting that you tried this at 15%. Maybe one for me to try again afterall Grin  Your comments about atty heating up quickly was the same with me...and like you, I would have put it down to the atty being older.

I wonder if a stronger mint flavour at a lower nic. level may also suit me?!

Like you, Carol, I have had some problems with my atties and flavour over the past few weeks. Have you tried this flavour with any other equipment?

Ceekay...I think that's a good idea Grin Like you, I am seeking that elusive 'Titan' flavour: flavour, flavour strength, nic strength and base mix...looks like I may be here for some time... Shocked

I think there is defo. a taste from Herc. that there isn't from PI (purer, maybe?!)...but I still don't have everything sorted out yet, so opinion may change... Wink

Clearo's pretty good (so far, so good). Will be better when I finally figure our nic conc./ flavour strength and base mix...It will come, but boy--it's a slow process for me... Huh

Bug I've been considering buying some Herc (unflavoured) but I've read quite a few times that it has a chemical taste. Would you agree with that?
To be honest it's putting me off buying any.
I might get a small bottle of the Herc menthol to try and see how that compares to the titan mix, I would love a huge bottle of menthol  Grin but only if it tastes good Wink

Okay, here's the thing, ceekay...I was saying to Carol that I couldn't understand why I was getting a vague singed taste with all of my juices--like a burnt caramel taste. I recognise when my atty is not wicking properly or when it is dry, but that's not the burning taste I'm talking about. Even with brand new atties I was getting this horrid taste. I would say that about 90% of my mixes so far have been Herc (just cause it's easy to cut in half) with VG. But...although I was getting the same burnt taste with PI in the few mixes I have done, the only way I could describe it is that it seemed 'cleaner'...less like diesel and more like petrol, if you know what I mean Shocked. Anyway, the point is that the burning taste has pretty much masked any useful comments about flavour. With this in mind, I thought I would try Carol's suggestion and try out the clearomisers (sorry TW!). Burning taste gone. I have only filled a few so far and it has been some PI/ VG mixes and a couple pre-mixed Titan juices. If you wait until I try a Herc mix in a clearo, I should be able to comment better.

Like you the idea of a year's supply of Herc menthol is really appealing...minimal mixing...maximum savings Grin Though I would probably still need to add a couple of drops of flavour conc. to compensate for the reduced flavour! As you suggest, buying a smaller bottle first (as I did) definitely makes sense. £90 for something you won't use would be galling, for sure Shocked

Sorry...don't know if that's helped at all Grin

Bug x
P.S. Does anyone think that these problems may have skewed my mint review... Sad

Well for what it's worth.  I have a bottle of Herc premixed menthol 36mg.

I was a 42 year menthol smoker and I have to tell you this stuff just kills me.  I finally had to cut it in half to be able to even take a girlly vape of the stuff.  If it's nothing else it's strong.  So if there is any chemical taste there you couldn't prove by me as the menthol is just so way overpowering.
