TORNADO - Crushing witches with houses since 1900

« on: March 04, 2010, 03:57:46 AM »

I received my bottle of 18mg Patriot Range KaMel today, so I decided to write a small review on it for those that haven't tasted it and are curious about it.  I'm using a Screwdriver Mk. II w/ 510 adapter, with Blue Foam cartridge plug, and a brand-new atomizer with primer blown out.

First off the liquid is a clear, very light straw color, no impurities floating about, and it definitely seems thicker than the Red Label juices.  So much so that a drop on cleaned and dried Blue Foam simply pearled on top for a few seconds before finally soaking in!  This immediately got me excited about what the vapor production ought to be like.  The liquid smells what it tastes like, only not quite as strong... so on to the flavor!

The flavor of KaMel is immediately familiar, yet not quite like anything I've tasted before.  It has strong overtones of a woodsy, piney, almost wintergreen tobacco-ey flavor, which is followed up by an exact (and I mean exact) more faint aftertaste of cherry Jolly Rancher candy.  However they pulled it off, it's not too sweet.  In fact, it almost has a "soft" hit to it.  The throat hit is decent, but not out of this world... I'd give it a 7 on a scale of 10.  It leaves a slight, tickling dry burn in the back of the throat.  I think this flavor might be too "unique" for everybody, but so far after several hours of vaping it, I like it.  It's going to be interesting to see what other flavors come forth after my buds get used to the initial flavors.

The vapor... thick white plumes of the stuff!!  I can get a cloud going that could choke a horse!  The pearling drop on dry Blue Foam foretold the vapor, and it did not lie!  If it helps to describe the thickness of the vapor (and also because it was simply cool), I was blowing vapor rings with it earlier and actually blew one vapor ring through another one!  Everything about this juice just screams Quality.  It has that strength-of-flavor, "mouth feel", and purity of the Decadent Vapours range... something you don't get out of the Red Label liquids.

Well, I'm not sure what else to say about it.  I would like to try other Patriot Range tobacco flavors, but even with (or perhaps because of) KaMel's uniqueness, I'm sure I'll be buying another bottle again.  Even though I've only 1 flavor to go on thus far, the Patriot Range seems like a definite winner!  I just may be ready to drop the Red Label for good.  Feel free to post your thoughts and questions about it.

Thanks for the indepth review! I know that PR American Red Tobacco is meant to be American Red Tobacco, so I am assuming the Kamel is meant to be Camel (I love these copywrite dodging sound-alike names). How does it compare with its namesake?

I used to smoke Camel Turkish Gold cigarettes.  I have to say, it's nothing like Camel cigarettes.  Not that any American Red Tobacco liquid I've had ever tasted like American Red Tobacco cigarettes.  The flavor of PR KaMel almost reminds me of the aroma of some American moist snuffs.

Kamel is still part of Camels line up. It was like an off brand of itself.

Great review. Really helps with my decision on Kamel now.

I bought it thinking it would taste like Camel cigs because that is what I use to smoke.  It tastes nothing like Camel cigs but it's destiny that I tried it out because it is currently my favorite flavor!  I try other flavors and always come back to filling up with KaMel.  Even this morning when I woke up, the flavor was the first thing I thought about.  --->  Roll Eyes  I would have never ever tried this flavor based on any reviews.  It's so hard to describe as I've not tasted anything quite like it.

Funny you should say that Dereck.  I just discovered a bottle of the exact thing I didn't even know I had.  Started vaping it yesterday morning and can't get enough of it.  However I do add a pinch of menthol to mine.

Try some twinings earl grey tea. At least that's what I'm reminded of whilst using PR Kamel. I assume the maker is using bergamot to emulate the taste of Turkish tobacco. Since I like earl grey, I quite like the flavour - even though Turkish/Russian tobacco never made me think of floral accented tea!
