These are charges your bank is adding i believe. There has been a number of threads on this and a few solutions too. Sorry i can't remember where but you might find if you search 'bank charges' or 'bank fee's'

The charges were levied by some US banks because TW was a UK registered company, but now it is a US registered company with a US bank account, Mr Wicked is not creating the charge or gaining from it, some other greedy so and so at the bank must be getting it?

If you use paypal on the US paypal site your bank may charge you an international transaction fee. But if you pay with credit or debit they will not charge you.

Not in the UK, it is just some banks in the US that seem to want to charge an international transfer fee, even though TW USA is registered and banks in the USA now.

To further confuse things, lol, if I use PayPal and pay with anything other than my bank account I am charged a fee.

If you use paypal at all your bank my charge an international fee since it is registered as pillbox38 with paypal and that is a U.K. account. So I just use the use credit or debit option when checking out.

You could do that but like me I have my credit card attached to my paypal account and use that.
But then I also use my paypal for TW and have never been charged anything extra

Your guess is as good as mine. I have used paypal for the last 4-5 purchase's from TW. And to date still no extra fees. I take that back. Maybe it is because I don't have a standard paypal account. When I get my statement it says PAYPAL SMART CONNECT. Maybe that is the reason. Don't know for sure

You add credit to your paypal account, so the money comes from paypal credit instead of your card

Not sure what you mean exactly there cath77,
When I make a TW purchase I have 3 options as follows
1. Direct debit from checking account 2. My MasterCard 3. Paypal Smart Connect
And I have been using option 3 the last 6 months or so and have had no extra charges added for purchases from TW
I don't know if regular paypal and paypal smart connect are the same

When i got my paypal account it gave me the option to add credit to the account, so i would have the option to pay using credit from the actual paypal account rather than from my debit card.

I've used PayPal for my TW purchases from day one and never incurred any extra fees. I have an American Express card that's liked to my PayPal account, and any PayPal activity shows up on my American Express statements.... no extra fees. But, I don't think this is the same as having a bank account linked PayPal.

I don't know if they'll be able to help you with it. If you're getting any extra charges they're coming from your bank, and it's really nothing to do with TW.

I think that TW should disclosure the fact there might be an extra charge by using PayPal. My bank told me that it was a TW issue. Jus dont know.

Wow. I don't know for sure efrenchy, but I don't think that's correct. It's my understanding that TW doesn't have anything to do with it, and it's your bank that's tacking on the extra fees, in which case TW wouldn't have any knowledge of it. Maybe you can check with PayPal and see if they can tell you where the fees are coming from? That's all I can think to suggest at this point. In any event, I hope you can get to the bottom of things, and please let us know if you find out what's really going on with this.

It seems not everyone in the US has this problem, I do think it comes down to individual bank policies, I'd vote with my feet if they refused to waive the charge

I'm pretty sure this is the case (as has been discussed many times before in other threads). I've used Paypal for every single order I've made, without actually logging in and looking it's probably around 20 orders in total, each time was an EFT from my bank account and never have I incurred any fees. I would definitely walk my business right out of there the very next day if they charged me a fee for these transactions

And to throw confusion in again I always pay with PayPal...if I use my bank account (checking account) when paying with PayPal there's no fee, if I use any other method when I pay with PayPal I incur a small "extra fee" (like $2.19 or some other weird amount). I think the last couple of orders PayPal has even thrown in a disclaimer along the lines of "if you don't use your bank account your BANK may charge you a fee for this transaction". Good luck with it frenchy.
