I know I'm quite new to this forum and don't want to upset anyone (especially a moderator!) but I hate flashing signatures. When I'm reading through a thread. I'll suddenly be hit by one and it's very disruptive on the page. Plus, as soon as one person has a signature that flashes, so will someone else just to compete and to be that much more noticeable, so the whole page will light up like Las Vegas. The T.V. has warnings about flashing lights (flash photography etc.) but there's no regulation on the web, even though exactly the same effect will be produced.

Maybe I'm alone in this

That was partly my thought Rusty. I went to a bowling alley on Friday night and it was all flashing lights, up and down the gulleys, in the ceiling, on the floor, a total nightmare. If I wanted to take up bowling as a hobby it wouldn't be there! And on here, I skip posts where I see flashing. I'm not epileptic, but I have tired old eyes that need rest Wink

My opinion of these 'flashing' logos is they are actually WORSE than POPUPS.. They are not used much on the WEB and for good reason.. It Doesn't Work.. IN FACT  to many folks.. It's turned into a flash warning meaning "Don't Go Here" !   So, I don't think many except the inept would be doing that... time will tell.

Personally, I would love an avatar that flashes from Red to Violet, taking in every colour along the way, I love colour, I love flashing pulsating and animating.

I can never decide between the two though.  The regular fire colour one and one is blue.

Honestly I don't see the problem. I never get any warnings and like the personal expressive abilities of our members. I would do it if I knew how, I am just not that computer Sauveur.  It never occured to me that some would take issue with it.
