I have WIndows 7 and I know at one time that I had a version of Media Player where I could RIP cds.  I had to have a new hard drive installed a couple of times because it failed but before that I has an awesome version of it.  My current Media Player doesn't have the capacity to rip.  I can't even tell what version I have.  Can you help?

wow I just noticed that. I just got  7 64 bit and that kinda sucks. Maybe its windows way of cutting down on people posting artist albums on the web. That sucks cause I rip everything I have to a external hard drive. As a back up of course  Undecided

I don`t know anything about WMP, but you might want to look at Exact Audio Copy

omg.  Do I feel like a foo.  I wasn't putting a cd into the drive.  I was just looking for a rip function without doing that.  I put in a cd, and like magic the rip icon appeared.   Embarrassed

thank you to all who responded.

see?  that's why I hang around here.  you all are good people.

Hehe. At least you admitted it. I wouldn't have, I'd have blamed it on something illogical and implausible instead, like I do when the tv remote goes missing Smiley
