Today is my daughters 11th Birthday, as part of my parental duties I have to go horse riding. Now don't get me wrong, I like horses to look at but riding them, that is a whole other story; I grew up on a livery farm and didn't like riding them then, and would avoid it at every possible oppertunity. Then last year at xmas I was persuaded to go on a half day hack and I got the psycho horse from hell, it tried to buck me whilst I was mounting resulting in my leg getting caught up on the saddle and the inside on my thigh gaining a jet black 8 inch bruise, it dragged me round the arena whilst being led on reins and at one point was so snappy I had to punch it in the nose to stop it from biting at my face. I have an ominous sense of foreboding.

What then. God girl you got some guts to have another go, most people would never go near another horse if it had happened to them. I used to own livery stables and I saw some things what people used to do with their horses (shakes head) I come off my horse and broke my leg, (my fault not his) but it didn't stop me ridding him....even with a plaster on. He would do anything for me, I adored him. Tina

Yeah, I can remember being on this huge Horse that had a total mind of it's own.. The dam thing jumped a wall into some womens front garden (with me still clinging on for dear life) i might add! and then proceeded to start munching on her prized flower displays! So she come flying out of the front door going mental at me, telling me to get out of her garden?.. I just looked at her and said.. 'If I had any kind of ability to control this animal.. do you think I would be in your garden in the first place?' She really wasn't happy. Thank goodness the instructor came and bailed me out of the manure!

Hey Tara Just a couple of pictures from our horseback riding vacation last summer in Montana. We spent two weeks doing nothing but riding. One of my favorite pass times for just chilling out

Tina Puff I totally read the riot act about the horse I can tell you; I should have spoken up really when we were in the stables as it was kicking out the stall before it was led out. All they kept saying was " but he's a sweetie he does disabled riding" as if somehow that a) made it alright and b) inferred it was my fault. I swore I'd never get back on a horse, but the power of little girls and their twisty little fingers is not to be sneezed at

One of my favorite pass times for just chilling out Horseman that looks very relaxing, lol if you know how to ride, I suspect I'll never get past an arena, my little one and husband are very natural though and they want to ride more often so I'm trying hard.

My wife never laid eyes on a horse (other than in pictures) until she met me. Our first date was a 3 hour ride in the mountains, after which we had to peal her out of the saddle, then she walked funny for a couple of hours. But now 17 years later she would rather ride a horse than ride on the motorcycle or in the car. As I said previously, I find it very relaxing being out in the woods on horseback. But then I have been riding for well over 30 years. You either like it or you don't I guess Below is a picture of the last horse the wife owned. He is a 6 year old arabian stallion.
