Hi all...i've been putting together a business plan and setting about raising funds with the view to becoming a re-seller with this company we have all come to love and respect...as when (if) i open i will be starting small most likely a market unit...i spent the weekend emailing my local markets for some information about cost and availability..today i got this back:
"Hi Ste

We have had a number of enquiries about the product that you are thinking
to sell within St Mary's Market. Unfortunately, we have declined all of
the enquiries as this product is not the type we are looking for within St
Mary's Market.

Thanks for the enquiry

The Market Team"
As they gave no reason I promptly emailed back asking why when the first unit you come to is a newsagent selling analog's in full view of the public..my email was sent back undelivered which leads me to believe they have blocked my email address...so i called them and the market manager was out...I've now got his direct number and he will be expecting my call @ 10am tomorrow...I'll let you know what nonsensical reasons Kevin could possibly have...  Roll Eyes

Oooh that's plain crazy. I'm sure he's made a very well-informed and knowledgeable decision.... not!

Good luck, hope you get things sorted out.

Yage,

Keep with it... Like you I just jumped on the re-seller train because of my passion for vaping and my trust in TW.  If the St. Mary's Market is unwilling to allow you the opportunity you may try a couple of ideas.

I'm not sure about the tobacconists shops in your area but here they are only two that are stocking the materials for vaping.  They are selling Ego-C's for $120.00/kit which leads me to think that their wholesaler is crazy expensive.  They aren't even including the full 5 strip of attys with the kit.

So I one of my first plans is to get out and talk to some of those shops and see if we can't get in under their wholesale price if not then they are making mad profits.  After that I am going to hit every tobacconist and novel items store I can find and see about setting them up with some totally wicked products.

The third plan is the same as your's hit open air markets and setup a stall with stock on hand and a big flashy discount wheel .. Free Attys .. 10%,20%,etc .. Free 5ml Bottle of Juice ... what ever I can to drum up some starter business.

Regards,
Casey

I have a tobacco shop next to my office, I recommended TW to them, same thing, got the run around, and they now successfully sell  Got Vapes products.

The people who manage the market sent him the 'no thanks' letter, not TW.

I'm surprised, TW are very keen on resellers.

Yes we do love our resellers and are always happy to work with good, committed people.

I hate it when people don't have a positive idea about vaping just through ignorance.  We make a concious decision to go do something that is healthy when compared to an analogue and we get shot down for it :S.

called the guy at exactly 10am this morning...he was pretty short with me and said no tobacco related products...before i had chance to explain he slammed the phone down  Shocked ...not much you can do against such a closed minded person...apart from complain to my MP and the local council Wink
This guy will not stop me and if anything has made me more determined...I am still yet to hear from two other market managers and I've started to look at small high street retail units as well as all the car boot sales in merseyside.

I don’t want to dampen your spirit but I am almost certain that new products can’t be sold at car boot sales, you must have a market traders licence to sell new products.
When you enquire let them know you intend to sell new products so they can advise you.
Stay with it.

I've been a reseller for about 2 months and come across similar problems. I have found my local market ok with the products and had some success. Been told by shopping centers "we are not interested in your type of business" and ignored by the local council who have a pop up shop to encourage new and varied businesess into the town.
You will need insurance, I've been asked to produce a copy 3 times. A good place to buy from is the NMTF (national market traders federation) membership and insurance £96 I think it was. Also other benefits/discounts. They also have a list of all the markets around the uk.
I do have plans to move the business into permanent premises ASAP. Markets arent what they used to be and it doesn't help when first starting out as you are classed as a casual and are generally given the worst spots and it does make a big difference on turn over and just generally getting noticed.
Anyway don't give up, be honest with your customers, reinvest and you'll soon have a nice little business running.

it all depends on how much funds I can raise..I've got an eye on a little retail unit atm..not much more than in my local market who where very nice and said as soon as am ready they have units ready to go..i have 3 appointments next week with company's who help start up businesses..of which all are happy to help regardless of what am selling..i am also saving with my local credit union so if all less fails..it will only be a few months longer before am spreading the TW love  Grin Grin..

VIVA LA VAPING!!!!

Yage,

It sounds like you are making some good progress.. You and I are about on the same phase of starting up ... I think I may have found a little retail shop that won't run for too much a month and it has highway access.

That's brilliant! Thought there would be a TW shop around my place, as it appears on the map, but just been told it's not fantastic Sad  Good luck with your appointments Smiley
