Hello lovely TW people  Smiley

OK, so I've had my shiny new Torpedo for a few days now - well, since TW were kind enough to give me 38% discount in the YoYo sale, it would have been rude not to lol  Wink

I've used just about everything in my possession on it so far, cartos, standard tanks, C tanks and it all runs like a dream, fantastic piece of kit!  Grin

So, after a lot of umm- and aah-ing about which flavour to go for (decision-making isn't my strong point lol), I loaded up my also-new 6ml DCT, attached it to the Torp with muchos expectation and... nothing. Nada. Zilch... you get the picture  Cry

First off, I wondered if it was a compatability issue - the tank was *cough*notfromTW*/cough* so I stuck on a 510/eGo adaptor and Yay!!! It worked, but alas, not for long... after a while, the draw became tight, the carto wasn't so much sparking as emitting a vague hissing noise audible only to my dog and the vapour dropped off. I muttered some expletives and stropped off back to my C tanks  Embarrassed

Cut to last night (very late last night lol!) and me reading up on this very forum about the finicky nature of DCTs in general... in a last ditch effort to determine whether the tank was at fault I put a tornado battery on it and Hallelujah!!! The consistently smooth, easy draw! The 'snap, crackle and pop' from the happy carto! The flavour! The throat hit! The vapour... sorry, I may have drifted off for a moment there  Embarrassed

Anyway... here's the problem. I love the Torpedo. I love the DCT. They just don't appear to like each other very much   Sad

Is it a compatability issue? Should I bite the bullet and purchase a DCT from TW? Should I give up on the Torp for DCT use and buy a plinth for my 'nado batt instead? Or do something completely different?

Any thoughts or input would be much appreciated  Smiley

Thanks in advance,

Dee (happy vaper of 3 whole weeks lol) x

Try using a paperclip to pull out the centre connector of the carto in the DCT, it probably isn’t making contact with the connector on the Torpedo it only takes a little discrepancy in the carto contact to make a lot of difference.

I use a DCT on my Torpedo without any problems.

Hi cyborg  Smiley

Thanks for the tip and the pic is much appreciated, I can't follow instructions to save my life so I need to 'see' how it's done if you know what I mean?  Embarrassed

Come to think of it, when I screwed the tank on (without the adaptor) it just kept turning rather than stopping when it should have been fully attached so it could well be a contact issue as you say. I've got about 3ml of liquid left in the tank atm so when that's been used I'll try what you've suggested  Smiley Knowing my luck, If I try it while there's still liquid in the tank it'll probably end up on the floor  Embarrassed

Just to clarify, does it make a difference that my DCT isn't made by Joyetech? And was the adaptor effectively 'choking' the carto? (Sorry for all the q's, I'm on a steep learning curve lol)

Don't suppose you've found a cure for Vaper's Tongue as well? I think I might have gone a bit OTT on the DCT/Tornado combo  Embarrassed  Wink

The best solution for this problem is making sure you are drinking plenty of water or beverage of your choice.

You can wiggle the center post as Cyborg suggested even with the tank full. You just need to wiggle it back and forth a little to get it to pull down slightly.

The tanks are the same except the type of plastic and the faded colors on the TW ones, but yours may a different ohm rating on the carto. It's not bad just saying it's possible.  Other companies are selling replacement cartos with different ohm ratings. My TW dcts all needed the post pulled to work on my Torpedos. I don't think the dct is a joye product no matter where you get it from.

The tank will keep on spinning no matter what battery you screw it on since the cartomizer(metal tube) will bottom out, then you will be just spinning the plastic tank around the cartomizer. It is only sealed by silicone o-rings so if its lubed up with e-liquid it will spin freely on the carto in the center.  Some of mine are tighter fitting than others but still no leaks.
