was just wondering if the vapour produced from v aping e-cigs is likely to set off firesmoke alarms?
i ask because the main reason i am going into e-cigs is because i didnt want to keep trolling outside in the rain/snow/cold just to have a fag.
so im thinking - if i vape in the locker room/toilets/reception/canteen at work - is it going to make the alarms/sprinklers off? or am i goin g to have to keep going outside?
im not too bothered now the weather is getting nicer but when it turns again ill be gutted if i still have to go out in it!

I've been vaping in the toilets at work for last last week or so since my Tornado arrived and I haven't encountered any problems so far.

Have a look in this thread :- http://www.totallywicked-eliquid.com/forum/questions-answers/does-vapour-set-off-fire-alarms-noob-question!/
It depends on the type of detectors.......and your company policy re e-cigs.

I've never had an issue vaping in toilets, hotels, etc, etc. However, I would personally never risk it in an Airplane toilet: if you do happen to set it off you'll probably get arrested!

The answer is actually yes it will set it off. However you would have to get on a ladder and blow directly into the alarm to get it to set off. At normal range the vapor is dispersed enough that you would have to be really toking on it to get enough in the air to set the alarm off.

Hope that helps. Like I tell my kid. When in doubt dont ask just do it until you are told you cant LMAO.

When at home and I sit a my computer that's about 1½ meters away from a smoke alarm. It has never gone off. One time I blew vapor directly on the unit and it managed to activate it.

Cheesy Just tried it, in the room vaping it does not go off, but if you blow onto it directly from a short distance it goes off...
