So I got home yesterday and tried the lemon thing. It was puckering me up so bad I couldn't swish it around in my mouth. It didn't work very well for me but at least it provided some free entertainment for my daughter. My saliva glands are working overtime right now just thinking about it.

Well, we do try to take a break from ribbing each other long enough to help the OPs.  If ever we hijack any of your threads and you don't have the answers or the help you need, please feel free to take us to task.  You can borrow K8s switch (or just let her take care of it (she likes it a little too much I fear Cheesy)).

Seriously though, we do want to make sure you and everybody else receives all the help you need (or at least all the help we can give).  After that though.......... well, Cheesy

I switch to menthol when this happens with other flavours, to kick start things again.Recently though I've been stuck in menthol mode and the same thing's happened - just sweetness and the vaguest menthol flavour possible. Switching to something that has a slight savoury edge has resolved it - in my case, coffee.

@ the OP Angela,
another thing to bear in mind is that if you are still using analogues, the tastebud syndrome will be extended.
I can't enlarge on that due to forum rules, but analogging will play havoc with your sense of taste.  Sad
