I read with some interest the section of the banners that report the financial savings. Is there anyone else out there like me that has spent more on vaping than you did in the other life? SInce May of 2010 I have happily shelled out enough doe on vaping to have bought a reasonably good used car. Not complaining, Just wondering if I am the oddball of the bunch. By the way. I like my e-juice shaken, not stirred.

Yeah I'm in the same club as you JohnEAngel, I'm only just over 3 weeks into vaping and I have spent a grand total of £350! Alot of that on mixing stuff, and a few spare atty's.... oh and my new addition a passthough battery thingy lol. I do have a fair old bit of stuff now though and hopefully that will last me a while. £350 in my old life would have lasted me around 6 to 7 months! So I'm hoping that all my mixing supplies will last me that long! Thing is though I can't stop looking at the website store, and thinking "ohhh I'd love to try that!" lol All good fun as long as I can control my spending, and at the minute I have forbidden myself to buy anything else!

Im also in this boat as well. 24th march - 30th april total spend just under £800 i have purchased alot due to only just moving from another site to TW so i have replaced all my gear and with the 15% sale i have stocked up. i'm really hoping this will last me now a very very long time and eventually work out cheaper in the long run.

Well, yes, but not as odd as some of us (yes I'm talking about you Horsey ). Nah, I'm in the same boat. You've been at ti longer than I have JohnE, but I wouldn't be surprised if I've spent more than you. I don't know how much I've spent because I'm scared s#$tless to add it all up. I'd probably stroke out if I knew the exact total. I think I'm more addicted to ordering from TW then I am to the nicotine! Yeah I'm in the same club as you JohnEAngel, I'm only just over 3 weeks into vaping and I have spent a grand total of £350! You're a piker ceekay. I've spent more than that on one order, and done it more than once. Yeah, that's my problem too. I've spent so much but still haven't even got a Wicked Stick or Screwdriver (and I'd love to have either). First I loaded up on standard Tornado gear during the yo-yo, then I bought enough Tank gear to last me a year, and now I'm really taken with the Mega Tank. Somebody needs to take away my credit card and/or my computer.

Me too but I have just started, I NEED all this nice tasty stuff and all the shiny bits to go with it lol But I think a few more flavors and I can quit spending for a bit, long term this has to be cheaper and for me I was diagnosed with a enlarged heart the left ventricle has a kinda blow out I have to have a angiogram in a couple weeks where a stent will be put in, so "watching what I am saying here" the savings for me long term could well be my life what kinda price would I put on that...A few quid anyway

A lot of us on here have health issues either due to, or exacerbated by, our past choice of nicotine delivery system. Hang in there and we'll all keep a good thought for you. I would say more, but I feel caz or Darth breathing down my neck (just kidding guys ). Well, at least you've found TW and can still get your 'nic fix' Be well DeeDee. Thanks 8Ball, I am sure I will be fine I better be anyway i'm dreading going into the hospital but its only a day job unless they mess up lol and its on Fri the 13th im not a superstitious person normally but Now Ceekay has your credit card I can look after your pute

Might have to put the store into a 'banned' list that can't be accessed from this laptop. Like the nanny programs you get to stop your kids from viewing unsavoury sites... Well that's what I need for the TW store lol Louise... I can't believe your total figure! wow... Might have to pop round yours for a cuppa and sample of the flavours that you have! lol

Money wise as a newbie I’m out of pocket compared to what I would of spent on analogues over the same time period – just like ceekay27 and I’m sure many others I’m at the stage where I’m still buying in supplies of must try items as well as the maintenance or running costs of running three tanks and a wicked stick . Future outlays will be on a SD mk 111 tank kit then hopefully I can sit back and just enjoy this new lifestyle – I haven’t at this stage worked out how many days/weeks/months of concentrate supplies I have in but its quite a few and I know that given the choice between spending my money on analogues or vaping supplies then vape supplies are the winner for me every time

Scared to admit how much I've spent, I too started in March and should have more than enough stuff on hand to supply a small army (doesn't stop me lusting after the new larger tanks and atties though - and the MK3 SD is on the horizon - doh!)
All good though, would rather be where I am now than where I was a month ago, no looking back this Tank gizmo has changed my life for the better.
I do need to take a reality check when it comes to ordering though, but think I have now found a juice I can happily vape all day (Virginina Gold), I can also put up with the Real Tabs I mix myself (thanks to Carol), so the other flavours are (for now), a dalliance, (reminds me I've yet to try the Cognac I got in my last order)
Looking forward I think I will save money in the long run, and it's not possible to put a value on the other benefits I've enjoyed since taking up vaping, so while I am probably £600 - £700 poorer - rats I've said it now! - I wouldn't change a thing.
We are all in the same boat I guess, but now I've found an all day vape I just need to find an 'all month' spending limit and budget accordingly, if I want the MK3 SD when it becomes available, I need to cut back on other stuff and save for it.
I'd have to admit to having an addictive personality (also seem to be developing OCD as I get older - but that's another thing), whch is why I'm here in the first place, but I'll take this over those unmentionables every time!

I have kept a tally on how much I have spent since I started vaping.. £1,738.09 ( give or take the odd bottle of Glycerin from Boots Pharmacy) and my banner shows how much I would have spent on my nicotine requirements doing it old style, so I can tell you I have saved a lot, and in more ways than one

So I read this post and got curious and desided to add up my spending/saving Started vaping April 1 and I have spent 189.00 I added up what I would have spent on Analogs from april 1 to april 30 and I would have spent 240.00 So far I have saved 51.00 which is about 9.00 short of an enitre carton of analogs. So I am happy with my savings/spending

Well I'll throw in my 2 cents here. I, like many others spent a considerable sum when I first started. However, because of the yo yo sale and the incredible savings there I was able to stock up on things. I now have a good 3 years supply of liquid and all the mixing stuff. At the current rate of consumption I still have over a 6 year supply of cartomizers.
So now I am finally starting to see the benefits of the savings. The only thing I order now is the rare tank atty. But it is true. In the beginning you go all crazy ordering everything in sight. But it does start to taper off once you are comfortable with your amount of supplies that you require.
So in the past two months I have only placed one order and that was yesterday on 5 LR tanks. Did not really need them but again because they were on sale I got some. So let's see. If I was still purchasing the other things I would have spent about $600.00 over the past 2 months. Instead I only spent $68.00 the past 2 months on vaping. So I would say I'm way ahead of the game.

Wow! put that way it makes more sense than ever, I'm still on normal atties as they do the job for me (at the moment), was a little paranoid about not having enough so add at least one to each order so now have 2 on the go and 6 spares, think I will continue to buy the odd one here and there so I never get caught out. Battery wise I have 3 on the go (always got one on charge) and 4 spares. I need to buy more PI, PG AG now I've discovered the joys of mixing (all I have is the starter kit), and have enough ready mixed juice to float a battleship so just need to level off a little........... Who am I fooling? gotta try the LR atties (not to mention the new larger ones), and I wouldn't mind trying................... wish the voices would let up (do you think TW add something to the juice which makes you want to buy everything in the store 3 times over ??

Yea, that's a big stock of cartomizers there. Problem with a stock that big is that you may find you want to use something else down the road. I have a 1 year supply of cartos from a bulk purchase I made when I first started vaping, got them super cheap that way, but now I'm sort of locked into them until I use them up. My wife uses the tanks and I'm only keeping a 2 month supply of those atties for her. Not sure what I'll be wanting to use when my stock of cartos run out, but a lot can change by then.
If I don't count the modding, I've saved a chunk of change by now. Other than building mods, I don't really buy more than I have to. I have a good stock of mixing supplies and flavor concentrates, but as far as hardware, it's just been the Tornado stuff and a couple mod PVs. For consumables (juice, atties, cartos), I'm spending about $3 a day for my wife and I versus the $12 a day I was spending on cigarettes. Mixing your own can make a big difference in cost especially when you buy your dilutants in bulk. As far as the spending on mod building, I don't really count that because it's something I do for fun, not because I have to. If it wasn't that, it would be something else.
One thing about savings, it also depends on how much you used to smoke. For a heavy smoker like myself, the cost of hardware gets offset much faster since I was spending so much on cigarettes. For someone who only smoked a half a pack a day, it can take quite a while to make up the cost of hardware.

When VM was around we had a head exchange program. He'd ship you out a new head with a tin-foil hat preinstalled, and you'd send him back the one you had for refurbishment. Since he's gone MIA I've been making my own, but they don't work very well, and I hear the voices all the time now (although some peeps tell me that it's just because I'm always talking to my self ). It's getting really annoying. You see, I can't get anything done anymore because they keep telling me to drop what I'm doing and go order more supplies from TW. I've tried ignoring them but then they threaten to send Tom (the 'Puffin Pussy') after me. It's getting so bad my credit cards have filed for a restraining order and it's just got to stop! I really need to join TWA (Totally Wicked Anonymous). ...Problem with a stock that big is that you may find you want to use something else down the road... Aye Craig, and therein lies the rub. After the dust from the yo-yo settled I found myself sitting on a big supply of 510 attys and about half a truck load of carts... cue the Tank... break out the credit card... man, this things great! Now we're talking. 500ml of Herc and 200 ml of PI, plenty of flavor concentrates to choose from, half a truck load of Tank attys and about a boat load of Tank carts. Now I'm set for at least.... HUH You've got to be kidding me!! A Mega Tank? Well, I don't care. I'm not spending any more money on vaping stuff for a while... Yeah, ok, so everybody on the forum loves them, but I'm still not going to... cue the voices... ok, I'll just get two Mega Tank attys and carts to try them and see what I'm missing, but that's all until I've used up the standard Tank attys and wear out this warehouse full of Tank carts that I've got, and furthermore, I don't............ So, my next order of four more Mega Tank attys and ten Mega Tank carts should arrive early next week. Anybody know where I can fence a boat load of standard Tank attys and carts? Man, I need serious help (shut up Horsey.... just ).

Man, I need serious help (shut up Horsey.... just ). LMAO too funny, you have such a way with words 8Ball

... Thanks for nothing 8Ball, not only have you reminded my voices about the Mega atties, you have also managed to add weight to my wife's (long held) suspicion that I am losing it,,,,,,,,,,,she just came in from the garden to find me engulfed in a cloud of vapour and giggling like a schoolboy at you post..... she raised her eyes did an about face and stalked off back to the garden (no doubt to discuss my mental health issues over the fence with her friend next door) Speaking of voices, perhaps we should exchange them, you know I send mine on vacation to stay with you for say 3 months, then (hopefully) when I get them back I will no longer be able to understand them (allowing that we gave you guys a perfectly good language and you *****ed it up ) and so their power over me would be somewhat diluted............cancel that......just realised my voices already sound like Homer Simpson, when browsing the shop last night I looked (for the umpteenth time) at the Mega atties and heard a distinct "Ooooooo...Look...Shiny..... followed by that noise he makes when looking at donuts (you know where his tongue comes out the side of his mouth) What if we............................

Well savings for me will depend on how you look at it. I have spent around $400-$500 on vaping stuff since I started. If you compare that to the savings from not buying analogs it looks like I am in the hole some. I have looked at it a few different ways and this is what I have come up with.
If I was to stop buying very soon I would be able to last awhile. If I had another bottle or two of nicotine base then I wouldnt have to worry about juice for probably a year or more. I have almost a liter of VG and about 300ml of flavor concentrates. Would only have to worry about hardware failure of a battery or an atty. I have 2 regular tank atties, 1 lr tank atty, 5 xl clearomisers, and 6 cartomisers. I also have 2 tornado batteries. I have a bunch of syringes so can easily fix clearomizers if they break on me. Also have nicochrome wire If I really wanted to replace coils. All of that should last me for awhile which would save me a lot of money in the long run.
I dont feel that the banner is a good representation of how much I really spent because of cigarettes. They cost about $5 a pack. I smoked at least a pack a day, sometimes more. I bought my cigs by the pack, if I bought by the carton I would have smoked more. Every day on the way to work or home I would make a stop at a gas station to get me a pack. I dont think I ever went in and just got a pack and left. I would grab a drink at least. Sometimes I would grab a candy bar or snack cake. I also would grab a couple of energy drinks before work. Usually I would spend around $10 for my cigs and everything else. Sometimes more if I grabbed a slice of pizza. If you also consider the many times I was running low of cigs at the house and have to leave for a cig run, well that adds to the money spent due to gas usage.
It has only been since the start of march but I have already noticed I have some extra money I didnt have before. It may sound weird but even though I have spent more on vaping than I did on cigarettes, I still am saving money because of the other factors.

LMAO too funny, you have such a way with words 8Ball Gosh, thanks caz. I'm just a plaything for your amusement (or trying to be anyway) I think it's fair, since words usually have their way with me. PMSL. That's classic stuff there FLANGEO. Don't worry about it, just pack their bags and send them on their way to me. I won't need to return them. With all the voices in my head, I won't even notice a few more. As for us screwing up "your perfectly good language"... well I don't know about that. You're the ones who dress up your motor vehicles with "boots" and "bonnets". And judging by where you put the steering wheel, you don't even know the definition of the words 'right' and 'left'. And another thing, you're always going on about how the.... Ooo, shiny...... gahhhhhh.

LMAO too funny, you have such a way with words 8Ball Dangerous ground you are treading here caz, my gran learned her lesson with these yanks during the war, well several lessons actually (she was a slow learner ) Show encouragement by laughing at his jokes and next thing you know he'll be plying you with nylons and Hershey bars . Ooo, shiny...... gahhhhhh. Yes, that's the sound, I couldn't find a word for it (definately wasn't in the dictionary we left with you) You're the ones who dress up your motor vehicles with "boots" and "bonnets" Well we needed an outlet for our affections, seeing as our womenfolk were otherwise occupied Don't get me started on football (not soccer ) FOOTBALL - your version is a bit like our rugby (only with padded suits) - in our football (a game of skill) the aim is to keep the ball (a ball is a round object by the way) and score in your opponent's goal. From what I've seen of yours, you pick up the ball and run off inviting lot's of other guys to chase you??? - then allow yourself to be caught, thrown to the ground with the other guys jumping on top of you!!!! (now come on, who invented these rules??, and whatever was he thinking?? ). Then to make matters worse, you all go off and have a shower together!!!!!!!!!!! Thinking we should use our new aircraft carriers (you know, the ones we can't afford planes for), to tow our island a little further away.............

I don't have to say a word there screwball. You say enough all by your little lonesome First off........ Now then. Show encouragement by laughing at his jokes and next thing you know he'll be plying you with nylons and Hershey bars
Nope, not likely. I'd gladly give her all the chocolate I have, but I'm a bit possessive with my nylons. Besides, I'd look funny doing the "Lumberjack" routine (you know the one... "Oh I'm a lumberjack and I'm ok...") in bare legs and high heels. Got to have my nylons for the proper effect. Well we needed an outlet for our affections, seeing as our womenfolk were otherwise occupied
Oh, I thought that was what the sheep were for. Don't get me started on football (not soccer ) FOOTBALL - your version is a bit like our rugby (only with padded suits) - in our football (a game of skill) the aim is to keep the ball (a ball is a round object by the way) and score in your opponent's goal. (now come on, who invented these rules??, and whatever was he thinking?? ). LOL. I've no idea who came up with it or what he was thinking. Maybe he was thinking "gee, I wonder what I can come up with to get a bunch of sweaty men to pile on top of me", or maybe he was thinking "gee, this is silly, but at least I'm not mincing (no, I'm not on about pies now... pay attention please ) about a pitch (which really means 'the delivery of a baseball (you know, one of those round things) by a pitcher to a batter') in shorts". Then again, maybe he was just thinking "gee, I wonder if this silly uniform makes me look fat?". Then to make matters worse, you all go off and have a shower together!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, maybe we don't have as many sheep as you. And just because we don't speak right doesn't mean we don't appreciate or practice good hygiene. Thinking we should use our new aircraft carriers (you know, the ones we can't afford planes for), to tow our island a little further away.............
Really? REALLY?? Man that's a cold shot. You want to move further away from us... and closer to.......... France? I'm truly crushed FLANGEO. I don't have to say a word there screwball. You say enough all by your little lonesome He's doing fine, his sense of humour would fit right in over here Cheers mate.

even though I am in the negative, I would double that in a heartbeat if I had to just as long as I could keep vaping. Vaping is a whole new lifestyle and I look forward to a brighter future now than I did 9 months ago.

I've definitely spent more on vaping over the past month than I did on any month of analogs... BUT, I also probably have a 9 month supply in my cabinet right now along with mixing gear that will last who knows how long( for example 100 pipettes and i MIGHT throw out 1 a month if I don't feel like cleaning it). I think over time it will come close to even, and if it doesn't I'm fine with that too. I like vaping more than I ever liked smoking, I get the added fun of a mixing hobby, and I enjoy life more without the smoke. That's what money is for, enjoying life, so I'm not looking back.

Actually I'm in the positive as well. I used to spend $100-125 a week on cigs for the wife and I. I actually used to lie when asked how many cigs I smoked a day. Would tell people 20 maybe 30.... Truth was I was smoking about 60 a day by myself. So the banner tells the real truth for me. Wish I could say more, but the rules prevent it....Anyway yes I have about $1000 tied up in e-cigs...You can do the math...

with vaping spreading like wildfire and the recent FDA ruling I expect the tobacco merchants will be marketing their own brand of ecigs because of the lost revenue from transitioners. This is going to get real interesting.

PMSL. Ok, I won't respond point by point because I think we've driven this thread about as far into the ditch as it will go (well, as far they will let us take it without a lynch mob anyway. I'm sure we could defile it much further). Just wanted to say I've had a ball joking about w/you, and I spewed Mt. Dew all over myself while reading your last post. And I have to add that I sent that cow(boy?) movie to you sight unseen so you're on your own. I didn't have time to watch it because I'm still canoing down the river, listening to the banjos, and wondering why I keep hearing pigs when there's no pig farms in the hills here about. Now, since JohnE, CraigHB, and Brucez were kind enough to step in and wrench the steering wheel out of our hands in a valiant effort to restore some shred of dignity to this thread (and I suspect it's far too late for that now that we're done with it), I'll just add that my last package from TW arrived yesterday, thus putting me even further into the red ink on my savings totals. So I guess it's now time to pull the trigger on all the lovely vaping supplies I've filled my cart up with, yet again. Can't risk saving any money you know. So with that I'll return you to your regularly scheduled program, already in progress. PS saintj is the keeper of all the blackmail material photos for this lot, and I don't dare wake that sleeping dragon witch.

I've been out of touch for a while and just happen to be thinking what it cost me to vape. Reason is, I was just laid off so now have no money to spend on it. So, getting out the calculator, and going by the regular retail prices of just the Eliquid, I started to figure this out. I generally vape about 3ml a day, I was smoking 10 cigs a day. At today's prices that's between $2.50 - $3.00 a day. The cost of vaping, adding product cost and shipping, it costs me $3.70 a day to vape. Not good. But I like vaping more. Guess I'm going to have to cut back. Does TW have a hard up discount? Alms for the poor and desperate? Oh my gosh, it's worse than I thought, it doesn't count hardware

Oh my gosh, it's worse than I thought, it doesn't count hardware Hi skiss There's plenty of ongoing discounts on at the moment plus the yo yo sales now and again. Check out the links for more information - http://www.totallywicked-eliquid.com/forum/totally-wicked-promotions/totally-wicked's-weekly-discounted-section/http://www.totallywicked-eliquid.com/forum/totally-wicked-news/daily-forum-twitter-facebook-discount-codes/

I'm sorry to hear that Skissiks and I hope you get a job soon. Its the cost of atomisers and liquid thats the main thing, isn't it? (Btw did you see the post about TW reducing the minimum US shipping cost?) In case it helps, I've been building up a minimum cost picture: Atomisers Having tried the 510 cartomisers TW have, I'm convinced they're the atty system that is best value for money combined with a short payback period. The next best is probably a repairable atomiser but the payback period is very long. Compare: Cartomiser - just over $2 each cost lasts 2 weeks so $1 per week with little outlay Repairable - around $60 (I think thats a low estimate) lasts forever (?) but coil and wick to buy every year ($?) Liquids PI works out at 25c/20p per 18mg fill for me whilst Herculian would be 15c/10p. Thats at today's prices on the websites. I get about 50 shots of flavourings for 1ml tanks from each 10ml concentrate bottle so thats about 16c/10p per 'shot'. On top of that you need your diluents but they should be a few cents per fill. I could vape for well under $2 or £1.50 per day I reckon but if you need more Nic or more fills, it will push the cost up a bit. Imho, if you're out of work, you need things to cheer you up and keep you going so I'd be going round the house turning all the electrical appliances off completely when I'm not using them rather than leaving them on standby - it saves a fortune and would pay for my vaping!!! That and spending my time building a cheap mod!!! Wishing you lots and lots of very good luck!!!

Now I have to make reservations to go to California for my mother's knee replacement surgery. When it rains it pours . The same day I was laid off my son's house was hit by a hurricane . At least no one was hurt.

Currently, I`m in the negative by the equivalent of approximately 15 months worth of doing it the old way...I hope that evens out over time.

No I don`t have a lot of devices - I`m a sucker for a yoyo and having had a supply of (legal) duty free tobacco previously, I never spent that much to begin with.
maybe £70 a month...$115 approx.

I think it's difficult to compete with duty free tobacco price wise, but for me it's not so much about the price and more about the fresh air... so to speak

The initial reason for me to get away from using tobacco products, was in fact the smell.

I have to agree with you on that one Craig HB... ... plus with the cheapish brand of analogue menthols I used to buy now costing circa £5.60 GBP/STG ($9.21) a pack in the UK now, and me having been on just over 2 packs a day, my savings shown in my banner are just about right. Like many of us, yes I've invested loads of $$'s in my new habbit diversion hobby, particularly with Mr Wicked's madness in giving it away in the YoYo generosity at the weekend, but I now have plenty in stock... and that should last me a while until I read on here about another flavour that tempts me... or the next YoYo Hey CraigHB - your up for your 300th day tomorrow. Nice One

I really don't want to add up how much I've spent in the last few days since I took the plunge into vaping. As with any new hobby, initially the expense of buying the equipment or hardware as an outlay is quite a lot, but over time the actually running costs reduce dramatically. So all in all, long term you're actually saving a lot, you're not stinking like an old ashtray any longer and you also have something to keep yourself occupied with, which has to be a heck of a plus point. Even if you don't notice it so much yourself, I imagine all those who you come into contact with now, who might have said something before, will almost definitely notice the difference Not only that... we've got this great place with all these really nice people on it who share a common interest, what more could anyone ask for in this crazy twisted world we live in Post edited to comply with forum regulations http://www.totallywicked-eliquid.com/forum/general-e-smoking-discussions/legal-advisory-and-revised-terms-of-forum-use/

Well, on reflection I am out of pocket since turning to vaping. Mainly thanks to the Yo Yo etc. BUT, I now have a load of really great stuff to show for it. A Tornado Tank with a few spares, a Wicked Stick that is a nice change from the Tank from time to time and lots of other "toys" to play with. Before I would have just had an ashtray full of dogends. Steve. Post edited to comply with forum regulations http://www.totallywicked-eliquid.com/forum/general-e-smoking-discussions/legal-advisory-and-revised-terms-of-forum-use/

As of now I spent in one month, 300+-50. So I've actually spent more and I have a other 100-200$ of stuff I will buy next yoyo. Then I'll be set for a year or more. That's when I see savings shooting upward.

You think you will be set for a year. Once all the stock has gone I bet they get loads of new "next gen" stuff and we will all have to buy that as well. Can't wait Steve.

Well, Rtsjr, you aren't too far off, then I've spent about $900, give or take a little . . . I've been restraining myself with the sales that have been going on here for the simple fact that there isn't anything that I really need at the moment. Juice-wise, I'm good for a month just with what I have already mixed up and I've still got an un-opened 100ml bottle of PI. There's still a lot of flavors I want to try out, though, and with the LR Tanks on sale I may just break down and spend more I'd love to add an SD to my arsenal, as well, but that one I just cannot justify at the moment. I'll likely get one after my Tornado batts kick the bucket, though
