Lol 8Ball, a good Rollmop is a delicacy beyond price and a tender treat to savour......... What used to upset my first wife, apart from the smell of them, was when I'd drink the vinegar from the jar and spit out the peppercorns and mustard seeds Of course, I'd eat the onions, carrots and gherkins (Dill Pickles to youze guys!)

I don't know how you folks eat some of the things that you do over there. You should come to the states sometime so I could introduce you to some normal food.... like pickled pigs feet.... or rocky mountain oysters.

Just googled rocky mountain oysters, sounds yummy, I'll try anything once but then i've enjoyed in my lifetime snails, winkles, frog legs and of course haggis. I'll eat anything except mangoes, cucumber and cherries. I think i'm pretty normal..........

Lol Cath, you KNOW thinking is not good for you ! MMMMMmmmm Winkles, now I haven't had those in years. The only shellfish I don't like are Cockles, but I think my faves are mussells or spoots. There used to be a chippie in Wickford that sold battered frogslegs, they were very tasty with a few chips, used to have them when I was working Wickford Market. Over the years I've eaten beef, veal, pork, lamb, hoggett, rabbit, mutton, kid, goat, horse, hedgehog and snake as well as a few less appetising menu items.

Well, I definitely wouldn't vape sill (my dad loves the stuff, but I'm all set with pickled herring), but I did enjoy the other swedish fish (the gummy kind) when I was growing up

I love cockles!! but i prefer mussels, the extra large ones. Spoots, well it's a lonnnggg time since i've had them. When i was a kid i had a great aunt who lived in cornwall, must be 20+ years since i visited her there. Don't get them round here though (least i don't think so). I forgot jellied eels, i wonder what our american cousins would make of those lol I looked up swedish fish and apparantly we can get them in ikea over here so might have a look if i go again

If someone knew how to mix it right I think it'd turn out great. Maybe this idea could get passed on to the mixers TW has at their disposal?? Also, if anybody out there that mixes has in their own experimentation come up with a flavor close to this and would like to share the recipe it'd be appreciated. Does anyone have any ideas on what flavors could be mixed to come up with a swedish fish like taste? I don't mix my own liquids as of yet so I don't know where to begin. Thanks!
Alright I knew that more people than me would like it On the Ask Nick forum I started a quest trying to get a flavour of salmiak, the swedish fish you are talking about is salmiak, or salty licorice, but a rather mild form of it. it failed on the fact that you need ammonia salt to make that taste and that ingridient is not god to vape they claim... So the reciepie is licorice root and a fairly big amount of ammonia salt up to 15% Aniseed could be used to make something simular, but you would not get that special salty taste...

You could try a smidgen of roast beef - that's pretty salty, and the meaty notes could probably be hidden under a decent dose of aniseed. I doubt it would be identical, but it might be close.

I've only just tried some savoury vapes and I have to say I was incredibly surprised how much I enjoyed them!
This may be warped but I'd like burger king flame grilled angus burger flavour... use it as a started then go for some kola kicks to finish off...
Even reading that back it sounds strange, but I think it'd kinda work!

I must say, you could change the title of this topic to "Every flavor Shez dislikes" and it would still work. That being said, I could see the niche appeal behind Swedish Fish. They could even call it like Finnish Fish or something like that, like they tend to do with the other knock offs.

I'm impressed about how far off topic this thread went. And trust me it's been entertaining, And i think some people still think I'm talking about some kind of actual fish, lol. To make the record straight, here in the states, Swedish fish are a delicious red in color gummy candy, with a taste all their own. Google it if anyone is still in question as to what they are.

NO !! That is so wrong, Swedish fish is the black licorice fish. That is the fruity fish. That company has it all wrong Look on my profile, I am from sweden But I do know what you mean. The fruity fish comes in Orange, Yellow, green and red colors, orange is orange, Yellow is sweet citrus, green I think is apple, and red I believe should be strawberry, but it doesnt taste like that. The swedish fish that are black is salty licorice, salmiak.
