I use smirnoff 100'. I'm not sure if flavored vodka is ok.

Just so you know, a smoke detector works by way of a chamber having to fill and remain that way with super heated gases. These occur in all smoke layers. As the e-cig doesnt have any smoke a smoke detector SHOULD stay quiet.. (faulty ones can get a bit grumpy sometimes though!)

Actually there are two types of sensors used in smoke detectors. I'm not going to explain them both again though but One can be set off with vapor.
