I was just noticing that the signature banners everyone (including myself) has indicate financial savings from vaping. My impression is that that is referring to vaping as an alternative to smoking. Is that not what it is saying?

Vaping is an alternative.....not a cessation method, but an alternative way to get our Nic.

Much like Snuff, Snus, chewing tobacco are alternatives vaping falls into this category as well.. It's a tobacco product and classified as such... just another way to get your nic on.

If quitting smoking is your intent there are products on the market for this task... Gum, patches and prescription medications... all approved for that task.

Financial saving have nothing to do with quitting.... just money saved by using a different nicotine delivery method / tobacco product.

I have no intention of quitting nicotine consumption, I was just curious about  the exact definitions of the banner. Thanks for your input everyone!
