My First Clearomizer - CE2 Ultimate

Good Morning,

I just pushed an order for some of the CE2 Ultimate Clearomizers and I have a couple of newbie questions that I haven't seen covered in the multitude of YT video reviews.   I bought them to go along with my Torpedo so here's hoping for good results.   I'm not a full time smoker so vaping is more or less a hobby for me and I treat it like I did my hookah.  I fire it up and enjoy the flavors and the nicotine is a positive side benefit.  I tried to avoid the Clearomizers while they were made with the rigid tubing because I heard about all of the cracked carts arriving in shipping.  I don't like spending hard earned cash for broken products as I am sure most of you don't either.   *edit*  I forgot to mention that I realize they are not 3ohm atomizers so the voltage reduction will be utilized on the torpedo...

Q1:  While I'm am not a total newbie to vaping this is my first VV device and my first set of Clearos so I was wondering if there are any caveats that I need to be aware that users have stumbled across?

Q2:  If I used a blend of PG/VG say 60/40 will I need to do anything special to the wicks so they pick up better?

Q3:  Some reviews I've seen mention taking the Clearo apart and burning the wick material until it turns white again to get rid of a "plastic" taste in the vapor; as these were early reviews of the product is this still necessary?

Whether you have the 2.4-2-6ohm CE2's or the 2.6-2.8ohm ones doesnt make to much of a difference on the voltage setting..... they can take the higher voltages even though at standard voltages they give a solid throat hit. Like any atomiser though running them at higher voltages will stress the coil....... after a little while dropping the voltage down to 3.7v they will seem weak.

They will wick fine with that mix.  If you do get some burnt tastes and poor wicking you can mod them with the parts included with the package. I have never tried this method but from what I am told it does work.... Some just crank up the voltage when they fade..... including me.... I toss them after a week though.... I like that fresh atty vape.

Thanks for the maintenance link, I will see how those mods work out on my CE2's.  I purchased 10 so I can experiment with one or two until I figure out how not to break them in the process.

Please be aware when using clearomizers as the burning taste is a total noob mistake.

I learned from it

Once you have completely filled the clearomizer make sure you allow it to stand for 10 minutes before use. Don't use it straight away because you still be vaping on the dry cotten wick that the coil is wrapped around. The cotten needs time to FULLY absorb as much liquid as possible. I made this mistake first time and i got a horrible burnt plastic taste. It needs time to 'prime' itself. Also to be sure, after you have given it 10 minutes to soak, you can go ahead and drip a few drops of liquid directly onto the coil itself (found in the hole down the middle of the clearo entrance). This way you will always have a clean burn free vape with no health risks.

just got a modded ce2 to use to try new juices as a dripping kit and to clean i disassemble then rinse the cup under hot water dry the connector then hook it up to a batt till it glows to dry it to clean it and that works really well. caveats are be careful and this is on a cheapy clearo I go for free so....

My apologies for the late response I was dispatched to Hesperia, California so I spent the majority of the day yesterday on an airplane.   

I got the CE2's in and I filled the first few with some of my favorite juices and inadvertently followed your advice.  I still had a few pulls left on my drip tip and I wanted to finish that out before I moved on to the CE2's.  I didn't even think twice about priming the coil before I used it I just did it expecting the coil to not be saturated enough to use it.   I put a drop directly onto the coil of each CE2 after I filled them.  I let them sit upright on a piece of paper towel so any spare juice would drain into the towel.  That seemed to work pretty well.  I've already gone through two of the pre-filled CE'2s on the Torpedo and after the second fill they seem to be performing much better.   I notice that I like them right at 4.0v anything higher seems to taste more like burning sugar than the loaded flavor.
