Hi All,

I have noticed that I find lime zing a right strident flavour in a dual coil carto but very nice in a smokey.

Is this just me that finds cartos give a higher flavouring and is it because you get more vape, does it apply across the board, ie are the somne flavours which appear stronger in a smokey.

I have a number of flavours i find a bit inspid (my standard mix is 23% flavour and 80/20 pg/vg., 7-10% nic).

I am going to  try some of these more inspid flavours in the dual coils, what's the general opinion, am I likely to find the taste stronger in a dual coil carto.

flavours I would like to experience as stronger are

banana
stout
tiramasu
caramel
vanilla

all by DV, however i found the same with RED label banana, must be 50+ years of analogues.

Hi Terrier,

The answer to your question is yes, your dual coils act as a low resistance atomiser (about 1.5 ohms)  and generate a much hotter vape than the smokymisers (2.5 ohms) that 1ohm's difference changes the flavour immensely.

Hi Astrecks,

so is this change always to emphasise the flavour.?

Not necessarily.....sometimes it can cook out some of the flavours or overpower parts of a complex flavour.

What Stevie said.

I have some flavors that taste great in the D/Cs but not in the Smokys.  Some that Taste great in the Tanks but not in the D/Cs.  Some that taste great in the Smokys...... well, you get the idea. Wink

What you vape your eliquid in has a big impact on the taste. Smiley

i have some flavors that I have tried with different devices.  standard dc cartos give me the strongest TH and good vapor while Smokys give me the best taste albeit a little light on the TH. the same flavor in a tank can give me a moderately good  TH which i am always interested in and good flavor and nice vapor.  for evident comparison, I have used the same flavor on all three at the same time. as for taste, the flavor can and does change with different devices.  and i like that.  a baby is crying off in the distance as someone smashes a perfectly good guitar.

thanks guys,

obviously need to do some comparison test by loading both, take it there is no to fill the DC.

To run a different flavour test - a wash through (vodka) plus a vape of unflavoured to clean ready for next flavour will that be ok.

That's a good way to flush out a dual coil carto terrier,
personally I fill to overflowing with VG/vodka mix I already made up in a 200ml bottle,
then blow it out gently into a tissue, three or four times until the fluid coming out is almost clear.
Clean it up and fill ready for a vape. The first fill has a lot of vapour and will be weaker than the nic content of your mix, but will be back to full strength on the next fill.
I prefer to drink my vodka rather than blow it through a carto  Shocked
Of course it helps to keep similar flavours to a single carto, like fruity ones, coffee/choc ones, dessert ones and tobacco flavours, which helps to avoid the "mucky" taste you can get if you've used the same one for several different flavours.

A thought did occur whilst reading down your thread; you mix your flavours at 23%...
DV flavours are mostly at 15% in the pre-mixes...
maybe your hunt for a stronger flavour has got you killing it instead  Huh
Sometimes, less really is more. I remember in some early mixes, finding it impossible not to add a few drops extra "for luck" which is how I cook.... and only a couple of drops to a brew just didn't feel like it would be enough.... but when the finished brew didn't taste like the delicious pre-mix, I had another go using the 15% formula and
Hey Presto  Shocked

Isn't this a great hobby? Keeps you out of mischief.... Wink

-My Titan tank seems to give me a good bit more flavor than my tornado tank, not sure why. -My standard 510 dont even come close to comparing.. They just sit in my equipment box -:-(

It's true terrier, when it comes to flavor concentrates, sometimes less is more.  Odd as is sounds, sometimes you get more flavor by backing off the concentrate percentage. Smiley
