Welcome, Varkhond! I hope you enjoy vaping! It's great. Astrecks is right on the money about the vaporized liquid cooling and all that stuff. I learned the hard way, and then I came here and wished that I had been here sooner to get my e-cig 'engineering degree' as someone jokingly said. What vapors have you tried so far?

I'm doing watermelon and redbull atm.. Its nice and all, but 3 days ago i bought a pack of normal smokes... Sad
Its like im missing something, i get my nicotine - the satisfaction etc - but something is missing.. The tears in the eyes from the smoke, the awfull taste im so used to... Dont know why i had to buy that pack, in fact atm im smoking an cigarette...

Does this "longing" for an normal smoke ever go away? Its so hard to sit between hardcore cigarette smokers(my whole family etc smokes), and not be tempted to light one myself.. Its not the product(my awesome ecig), but my willpower i think..  God im so confused how something so discusting can still get a hold on me.

Tbh i have the odd crafty fag every now and then ,its not that i want to,its just coz i can, doesn't mean i will in back to it full time because i won't,why step outside when i can stay in the warm and vape to my wee hearts content,it is how ever much easier when i am at the pub to just roll a cig and stand with the crowd rather than have them staring at me as if i was some kind of alien or something, people just don't really get it yet,but in time they will,my sd will always be in my pocket so i can sneak off whilst on body is watching and vape a little.

Varkhond, I understand what you're saying. For me, after 3-4 days I wasn't even THINKING of analogs. I've been a smoker for 10-13 years and I was really surprised that on day 4 my first thoughts upon waking weren't to grab a cigarette. I thought that I was going to have a problem with the SD not being able to be held and vaped in the same style as you would an analog, and for the first few days it was. I was also nervous that I would vape too much, because when you have an analog, you know when you're done because it's out. It's also great to just have a few puffs here and there without lighting one up, for example I've always smoked while putting on makeup, and about 1/2 of the cig would pretty much go to waste just sitting in the ashtray. I would light it so that I could have a few puffs, knowing that I wasn't going to be sitting there smoking the whole thing, treating it more like some expensive incense lol. I know myself pretty well, and although it may happen, I sincerely doubt that I will have an odd craving for an analog. I had one puff of my husband's analog when he was having issues with his SD (I hadn't had an analog in a few weeks at that point), that one drag made me remember all of the fun times attached to doing bad things with friends in high school like smoking in the bathroom, outside right in front of security but being so good at hiding it (even though we were passing one around!), skipping school..but it just made me realize how much I love vaping, and how much I love my SD. I might even go as far as saying that if something happened and my SD malfunctioned or I run out of e-liquid or something that I would just deal with it, and not pick up those things and smoke them.

For my husband, he absolutely loves the feeling of smoke in his lungs, so it was important to him that he had something that would be a warm vape, with a good throat hit and a good amount of vapor. We had bought that tornado T conversion kit with our SDs, and he felt that he was missing something, that he wasn't getting what he needed. So he tried clearomizers and it satisfies that for him. Maybe buy one of a different atomizer/cartomizer/smokymizer or whatever and see how you like it. I think that once you get your whole vaping experience to be "just right" for YOU, your analog wanting might change. Let me ask you something, which to you prefer and/or enjoy more? Analogs or PV's? What exactly is it that you like about analogs? PVs?

Like drinking, smoking can also be a social thing. I mean, how many times have we been outside with other analog smokers and ended up making some really interesting small talk, because it was like you were in an exclusive club, because what crazy nut job would be standing outside in 2 ft of snow sucking down chemicals in smoking form? It might be helpful for you to think of yourself as "evolving" from analogs maybe. I mean, not to feel superior or better than anyone or anything, but just choosing a different medium. I think it's kind of like having different beverages from a bar, it's just different but you're still part of that social atmosphere. Who knows, you might convert people and be able to share different flavors and mixtures as well as devices with people like in a restaurant (or bar!) try each other's drinks or a bite of someone's meal (with people that are close to you, of course!). A social or self imposed stigma is always a difficult thing to shake, especially when it has been a part of your life for so long. You may be 'used' to the stigma of analogs. Maybe you could be a trailblazer and create a NEW,positive stigma that others can build off of!

No, but if you could start with, "Once upon a time," and finish with, "And they all lived happily ever after," it would be the complete package. Wink

Seriously though, what you said is good so it's fine.  Grin

Not at all nykki its great you have so much to say. Its much better than having one word responses with no meaning.

I agree with you on the exclusive smokers club. When i was out in town you never met anyone because they were all with their group and you with yours why would you think of going talking to them. When you went out for a smoke you somehow felt the formalities were already taken care of since you smoked lol.

I find the same with ecigs though when im using mine and find a fellow vaper then all the initial formalities go out the window and straight to vaping talk its great.

I think cartos always give a harder throat hit. Although you can up the hit with a higher nic strength but you don't want to over do it if you get headaches etc then its too strong.

You can also add some flavors like absenth to give throat hit.

I haven't touched a cig since getting my first kit. If i ever felt the need to have a cig i just upped my nic strength for a bit and i soon lost the idea.

I don't want to smoke i enjoy the act and relaxing nature. I hate the smell on my fingers breath and the feeling out not being able to catch a breath if i did anything exerting. Im definitely glad i found vaping

Varkhond, I hear what you're saying about smoking the most at pc/gaming time... I swear some nights on the xbox I would chain 15 cigs until I got tired enough to go to bed. Same thing if I'm writing... it's like I just HAD to have a cig in my hand. I don't feel like that now though, and I thought that I would miss that. When doing a heavy gaming session, it's like I felt that I played better if I had a smoke in my mouth or in my hand along with the controller. Whatever you do, just remember to not be too hard on yourself  Smiley

Varkhond, +1 Nykki -- don't be hard on yourself!

Not sure how long you have been smoking, but when I first started vapin, I would still have a couple in the morning.   I had been smokin for like 42 years and cigs were my friends!  Hard to let a friend of 42 years go!

Take it one day at a time.   A friend recently told me:   Every cig you don't have is a good cig!
