So I've been vaping my Ego-C almost 1 month.

I vape about a cartridge a day of the TW Red label E-Liquid - 11 mg.

I've come to the sad conclusion that my vaping is causing a rather unpleasant condition.....
my throat is constantly sore. (No i am not sick, I am quite sure- as the days I vape more, the worse for the wear I am)

Is it perhaps the battery on this particular device is too strong? Or perhaps the particular fluid? Would a weaker fluid be less irritating? I am thinking no, as I would probably just vape more

I really do enjoy it and not ready to give it up.
Any suggestions to ease the throat stress but still keep vaping?

You could add 5-10% VG to you juice or start to DIY and add more VG. VG is easier on the lungs and throat.

Sorry to hear about that Rabidrabbit and do hope you get better.

Below are a couple threads discussing sore throats and vaping that might help explain the problem and solution!  Good luck.

If you have cone from smoking analogues a sore throat or persistent recurrence of a sore throat can be quite normal for a month or so. Regardless of if you vape or not.  But any concerns over it you should always see you doctor for a check up .

As others have mentioned VG is vegetable glycol or glycerine  you can get it at any pharmacy as it is a thick very sweet liquid, usually the main ingredient in a cough syrup, that is used for sore throats, burns etc.

VG is usually mixed at a ratio of 85% VG to 15% distilled water which makes AG or aqueous glycerine. This is actually what's used in liquids but its just reffered to as VG

I personally don't use much of it so don't bother mixing AG I just use a lesser amount of pure VG. If you are getting it make sure its glycerine bp which is pharmaceutical grade so there's no additives in it

Since its used for sore throats it takes away some throat hit and is smother but you will quickly adapt to this and find it the norm.

I had a sore throat after using ecigs for about 2months on and off but one after the other. I was using red label tobacco which I found quite strong. I switched to a different range which was a little smother but after about 2 months I was fine and never had a sore throat since. I think its just your body getting used to something new as its a common comment on ecigs.

Another helpful tip is make sure you drink plenty fluids that will also help while your body adjusts. Plus its good for you so overall you will feel better

Hope you stick with it as we have all been there  Smiley

I'm so sorry for your sore throat - just had it myself (this was however caused by being sick).

When I smoked analogs, I found that the more throathit I got from them, the better.
I find I want the straight opposite when vaping. But I miss it Wink So I've begun mixing myself, to find that sweetspot Cheesy

That way you regulate it yourself, and even though it may seem overwhelming first, second and third time you mix, you get the hang of it Cheesy
I've found out that I need more VG to mage a smoother and sweeter mix, to get the right taste coming out Cheesy

I sure hope you stick to vaping, and remember that NO question whatsoever is a stupid one. The only thing that can be stupid, is an angry answer Wink And we don't do that here Cheesy

I like the idea of trying to add the VG. I see PG sold on the TW site, but not VG.

Where can I buy VG? And can i just add a few drops to by TW brand pre-mixed liquids i buy?

I think mixing my own liquids from scratch is a bit too advanced of a process for me at this point.
I'm just getting a hang of the vaping thing as it is.........

Thank you all for your responses! Its nice to get feedback!

Yes, they sell it in a variety of sizes -- go here:

http://www.totallywicked-eliquid.com/products/eliquid-mixing-accessories/diluents/aqueous-vegetable-glycerin-usp-product.html

Please note tho that once you get it you will need to delute with distilled water.    They say:   To make Aqueous Glycerin (AG), Totally Wicked recommend diluting the glycerine with distilled or deionised water in the ratio of 85 parts of glycerine to 15 parts distilled/deionised water.

Also, you have to remember that however much of the VG you add to your premix will lower the nicotine content.   For instance, if you add 20% of VG to your 11mg premix, it will bring the nic content to about 8.8%.   Adding 30% will bring it down to about 7.7%, etc.
