Taking my son to a local theme park (Holiday World) for our annual "lets have fun before school starts" trip on Thursday....
I'm wondering: has anyone here ever had an issue with vaping in a theme park?

I recently took my kids for a 2 day break at legoland. Once you're in the park there
are big no smoking signs everywhere, and one designated smoking area in the middle
of the park. This smoking area made me laugh, its just an area of probably 12x12
feet surrounded by a huge 6 foot fence! lol
Anyhow, I vaped pretty openly for both days, not one person approached me, and not a single
person said a word. I must add though I didnt do it in anyones face, and also didnt vape in queues.
If you want you could always ask at the entrance of the park, but be prepared for them to say no.

yes, they do...I was just hoping to get out of having to walk all the way to the "smoking pits"....guess I could always duck into a bathroom stall. I could also try some stealth vaping, but doing that to much gives me a headache! lol btw...smoking areas in these places are a total joke...It's not like it's a closed in area, just a few benches with a fence around it. How is the smoke supposed to know it needs to stay in the chain-linked fence area! lol Years ago I heard something a comedian say that made me laugh so hard, and it is soooo true....having 'smoking areas' is like having 'peeing areas' in a pool!! |

Ahhh well if there are designated areas cool... because that was my fall-back plan when I recently went to the zoo hehe. But I just carefully vaped when I knew I could, so in other words I vaped around the whole site but I was subtle. If staff had caught me and said no I would have joined the smokers in one of three areas we found... the OH had to go in them frequently anyway, the filthy ciggie smoker!!!  I'm more in the 'don't ask so they can't say no, but keep it low key' camp myself  P.S. rofl @ your analogy of smoking areas like peeing areas in a pool!!!!!! |

Last place I went to was the zoo. Did't have my kit with me because we had the grandkids and vaping in front of the grandkids is a no-no.

I just found the theme park's smoking policy, and it specifically mentions electronic cigarettes....Maybe I'll just play stupid if someone says anything!

Ive gone to Carowinds twice in the past few months and a few employees have seen mine. A couple smiled and one gave me the thumbs up. Of course I take it easy on the big smoke clouds and look down when blowing it out,

nearly been kicked out a few times from the milenium stadium for smoking, and i know there sense of humor will be the same as the policemans was when he asked me where i was going with that plastic glass,

I vaped all over the park, and not one person said anything to me. (I wasn't being obnoxiously obvious about it either) Then while waiting for my son to ride a ride I was standing there vaping, and I noticed a guy staring at me with this really odd expression on his face. I thought I had better put it away before he says something. Then as he turns to walk away, I noticed that he has on a "Battle against smoking" Totally Wicked shirt! I wanted to catch up to him and say something, but he was gone in the crowd.
