I was stoked. At first it didn't sink in what had happened. But as I moseyed on back to my seat I started thinking about it and wanted to tell the people I was with but I knew that they wouldn't share the same enthusiasm as me.

I pulled into a Home Depot yesterday and was taking a few vapes before going in to the store, a truck pulled in and parked next to me and the passenger saw me vaping and commented " smokin' the good stuff eh! wink wink" and I said "Excuse me" and proceeded to give him and his uncle a little education on ecigs (their both smokers) the young man was quite interested but the uncle was like meh!
Anyway, I guess to some people an ecig looks like some sort of "Wacky Tobaccy" smoking device...LOL

Nice. You were rightly treated as a VIP - Vaper in Progress.
I got to have my first vape with a pint of Directors bitter and with the landlord's blessing. For some reason it felt like all my birthdays had come at once. Oh, propping up the bar with a pint and blatant nicotine inhalation, how I've missed thee.

Nice! I've got a few stories like that too. One of my favorites is being at the bar one night and getting all those jealous looks from smokers who had to go outside to get some nicotine. The bartender gave me the go ahead once I explained what it was, he was like "oh yeah man, I've heard of these". Some of the other patrons were getting mad and saying "how come he can smoke in here?" And the bartender actually defended me saying "hey it ain't smoke and it don't stink, so he can puff away all he wants", lmao it was classic! The word is getting around, and people who have a clue and know what they are will defend your ability to use it just about anywhere.

I was stealth vaping at my weekly D&D game not long ago, when the DM said something that made me laugh in mid inhale and a huge cloud of vapor glided across the gaming table. All five of them stared at me in shock for a few moments, until it sunk in that it was an e-cig, and then we carried on as usual, without even a comment. What surprised me was that no one noticed me vaping for the first four hours of the game! (its just a normal sized dinning room table that seats 6) On the other hand, I vape at my desk at work pretty much all day, and while about 10 people swear that they cant smell it, one co-worker constantly complains that the smell bothers her, and frequently reminds me how disgusting my habit is.

That's awesome, John Angel!!!! Vaping is SO convenient!!! And as long as we can keep tabs on crazy, oppressive proposed ordinances, I think folks will be really accepting of vaping. That's been my experience, anyway. The only place I haven't vaped yet so far is a movie theater. I figure that might be pushing it since it's dark and people can't see it's not a cig and real smoke.

I vape at my desk at work pretty much all day, and while about 10 people swear that they cant smell it, one co-worker constantly complains that the smell bothers her, and frequently reminds me how disgusting my habit is. I was talking online with someone who's going through this with a co-worker. She sits quite a way off from her, but still decided to complain to the boss rather than taking it up directly with her. Unfortunately, some people just have that need in them to kick off at the slightest provocation, and no amount of calm and logical discourse is going to persuade them to our cause, because they're just driven to complain about any perceived infractions in their lives. It's a real shame, because a lot of us I bet, feel almost born again and really want to celebrate by doing things we've been banned from doing for so long now. I'm one of those 'weirdos' who likes to sit on their own in the corner of a nice quiet boozer of a lazy afternoon, reading a good book, nursing a pint and having a smoke. That to me, is one of life's golden pleasures Luckily for me, I'm now able to do it again, just a different way. I'm gonna enjoy it for as long as it lasts, but I do think we have to be very considerate, polite and mindful of others, some of whom are just looking for an excuse to wreck it for us.

that was a nice story to hear. i've been making a point of vaping in any store or shop i enter since i got my kit around a month ago, and funnily enough yesterday was the first time anyone has said anything to me about it. a week or so ago i was going through a checkout at a supermarket, (no one behind me) the checkout was part of the 'cigerette counter' type thing, a checkout on either side and cig counter in middle, there was a smoker there buying his dirty sticks so i decided to pull out my tornado at the checkout while my items were being scanned and puff on her. his face was priceless (the smoker) and i could tell he wanted to ask me about what the hell it was i was smoking indoors, but he got his cigerettes and left before i did. apart from that noone has even really looked at me funny, vaping away in supermarkets etc. however last night while purchasing alcohol for a drink with a friend, i was vaping around the liquor store when a young store attendant came up to me and said, 'excuse me sir, you arn't smoking in here are you?', i explained to him what it was and how it worked, and his response was 'very cool!' i also dropped the TW name for him to look into. At the checkout the attendant asked, 'is that one of those electronic cigerettes?' i continued to explain to him aswell what it was, where i got it and he wanted one himself so i pointed him to the UK website for a tornado/titan tank system. the response to vaping i have had has been very positive or no response at all, and im always happy to steer new customers to TW when i can. i was happy someone finally came up and asked me what the hell i was doing appearingly smoking in a store.

I really enjoy everyone's Vaping stories. Hopefully one day, we will be socially accepted without having to explain it over and over.
