I've noticed the carts in my wife's Tornado were looking melted at that tops (open end). I thought she was either was either pushing down for too long or "pulling" for too long (no jokes please). After accusing her of abusing her Tornado for a week, I noticed it with mine. I don't leave it pushed down for long and I always top off the cart. I am using the "blue foam" but aside from that, nothing out of the ordinary. I don't really notice the cig getting very hot either. Anyone have any ideas and should I be concerned?

Hi Zombeck
I found a couple of my carts were showing slightly melted edges also.  Im guessing the cart is touching the side of the atty bridge so Im carefull to now put the cart on the long side over the atty bridge not the short side.  I havent tasted or smelt anything plasticky and the melting isnt like a ball of melted plastic just a couple of millimeteres on an edge, so I think its purely from being so close to the heat rather than actually melting on the atty (plus it would stick to it wouldnt it if it was being melted directly and then cooling?)  Im sure we would taste/smell something extremely unpleasant if anything toxic was coming off them, (having melted the odd plastic item over the years) but I seem to be avoiding it now by carefully placing the cart longways.  If you have concerns then direct dripping would be the way forward and do away with the carts completely (the DD tip is metal).  I gather theres a huge DD fan base on here though I havent tried it myself, though Im thinking about ordering one on my next order to give it a go.  Gasper xx
