Hiya Jedi, that is perfectly normal when vaping, the glycols dry your mouth and throat so you need to increase your fluid intake.

Hey jedi i noticed this too. For a dry throat i have never found anything better than a spoon of honey. Carbonated soda's or water seem to make it worse for me so i rather have tea or coffee with normal water. Also it seems that PG flavors contribute to this more than VG in my case.

If its a big issue after a while try upping the vg ratio if you don't mind the sweeter taste and slight reduction in vapour. I found after a few weeks I became used to vapin and the dryness was less severe

I found that I was one of those few that are sensitive to PG. It caused me to cough as if I had smoked analogs. Embarrassed It took a long time to figure out the problem. I had rough patches (no rash and not red or anything) on my skin and well...needless to say, it began to dawn on me that the PG might be the culprit. Undecided
So, after a little I-net research, I discovered that my symptoms could be caused by the PG. Further, that this is a common issue with those who happen to have eczema....which, it turns out I do. Cry
So, bought a big bottle of Platinum Ice VG, and Aqueous Glycerin and mixed up my flavors of choice. VOILA!  Grin Problem solved! Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley

I don't have quite the same throat hit (which I miss), but the coughing fits are gone. Funny, I noticed more of a "taste" with the PEG...anyone else?

I have a cople of thing I was told & tried.
First I was killing my atty's pretty quick.
I asked a few questions , told to blow them out which I did,it worked but not for long.I tail piped them hot water, ect.
More questions, now I was told the ratio was to much for it to cut it to 85 PG 15 VG. Problem solved.
I'm vaping all day long & I mean all day.
I do get dry throat & mouth dryness.
So I was confused about the mix,.

Yeah, I think we have all forgotten to drink as much as we should. For many years our analogs told us our throat was dry. Now we have to take notice ourselves whether we are dehydrated.... Roll Eyes  Wink

I also believe you should stay away from soda, it makes my throat worse usually with all the acidity and such, I like to drink nice cold water, Iced tea or a nice cup of hot tea. And of course I do need my red bull and vape every morning. Smiley

Drink some VG*. If you've cut it with Voddy then even better!

* As long as it's food grade. ;-)

OH MY!!  I haven't had a Killian Red in YEARS!  Now I'm going to have to!

I must be completely backwards biologically or something.  I have difficulty vaping VG.  The more VG the more I cough.  Anyone have an idea why that may be?  I do great with PEG400 dilute but if I get a premix that's VG it just kills me.

Any help would be appreciated!  Smiley

Nah you're not alone, we're both biologically backwards. I spent a period trying to increase the VG ratio in my mixes but actually found it made me feel really dry in the throat, also found it quite nauseating and flavours became really rather muted. I went back to 80% PG and I've stuck there ever since.

Having said that, I think most of us have difficulties in the early days of vaping, all very well documented and extremely commonplace. In my case and as predicted by seasoned fellow vapers, it faded after a month or so, along with some really unpleasant breathing issues I had in those early days. You also get a handle on things as you become familiar with it all - keeping a pint of orange squash nearby is second nature to me these days.

Since I pretty much have to stick with Platinum Ice VG and AG plus my flavor, I found upping the voltage did the trick on flavor. Wink Now, Hubby uses PG with no problem but he loves the extra burst of flavor with increased voltage. (we both got a Torpedo VVV with the tax returns) Grin He discovered the increased flavor with voltage first and I was quick to say that, yes indeed, I want a Torpedo too! Grin Grin
Maybe we all just have to "tinker" to find what's right for us? Wink
