One of my 901 batteries was giving me trouble yesterday by staying lit after I was done taking a drag and lighting up my atomizer then the battery shut down and wouldn't work for a few seconds.  I've had problems with batteries before so I recognized the problem.  Some fluid or gunk of some sort worked its way into the membrane that activates the switch and was apparently sticking so I took my syringe and sucked up some rubbing alcohol then gently put the needle in the battery hole, pushed the plunger till the hole was filled then let it sit for a few minutes.  Then I put the needle back in the hole and drew out the alcohol.  I decided to irrigate the hole with more alcohol so I put the needle in the hole as I held the battery over a small plastic container to catch the overflow then pressed the plunger to wash out any residue from the hole.  I wiped off the battery and let it sit to drain.  Surprisinly there was no alcohol in the little hole so I guess gravity did it's job so I popped off the plastic cover from the end of the battery and let it sit vertically and it seems good as new.  When putting a needle in the hole, be careful not to puncture the delicate membrane that activates the switch, in fact, don't allow the needle to make contact with the membrane.  Like I said, the battery was in trouble and would've been usless in a day or two anyway so I had nothing to lose by doing this but I wish I'd thought of this two months ago before I tore apart a couple of other batteries that gave me the same trouble.  It worked for me so give it a try before you toss your battery in the trash and let me know how happy you are when your battery works as good as new!  I must caution you not to blow or suck on the end of the battery with your mouth because this excessive force can rupture the membrane and render your battery useless.

I don't want to lose my battery because of the internal switch so it was a last resort although hernia surgery would have been preferable.  I've vaping with the same battery I just fixed and seems fine.  I think it's important to work it to help continue freeing up the little plunger before it dries out.

I used an old ink refilling syringe for the alcohol(didn't want to use the one I use for my carts which I keep locked up Shocked)  So I don't accidently fill my carts with alcohol instead of e-liquid.

Update  I twisted a piece of paper towel, put it in the hole and let the battery sit overnight in the vertical position with the contact side down.  Works as good as new in case anyone wants to know.  I almost bought a new battery but seems I can get more life out of this one now.

I was careful not to fill my cart with alcohol.  I used an old ink cartdrige refill syringe that's color coded and a lot bigger than the one I use to fill my carts with.  The battery's still working great and I saved myself a few bucks.  I feel good when I save myself a buck or two.

I just noticed the US Totaly wicked is selling a pack of 5 901 batteries for $50 which is $10 a piece.  Why did I waste time on this?

Well, between my 901 and titan I have enough batteries and atomizers to last awhile so I guess I'll just buy some more liquid. Tongue  I hope they keep selling that 5 pack of batteries and atomizers though, I may need them someday.

Ah ok....having the same problem with my battery, so I'm gonna give your idea a try and let you know how it turns out. It's gonna get tossed anyway if this doesn't work, so might as well give it a shot.

Nope, no luck. I irrigates both holes several times and even soaked it in IsoPropyl Alcohol, and it's stilling getting stuck in the on position. I don't know if it HAS to be dried out overnight. It's not dripping anymore, and seems pretty dry. Any suggestions? I could just take it apart and see if I can clean it out, anyone got any better ideas? Cos I don't want to break it more if I don't have to!
Thanks

I dont know this for sure, but i would think since WD40 is an electrical cleaner and wont short out your battery you could use the straw that comes with it and spray away.

I use WD40 to remove ROAD TAR of my car so it should clean any crap out of the battery.  Smiley

The switch is probably broken then.  You could let it drain some more then blow in the hole to try to free it up but doesn't sound good.

Not sure I'd want to be vaping WD40 residue afterwards though - I can't see you could ever get it all out of the battery, and there has to be a positive airflow through it to activate the switch.

You irrigated both holes?  Are you talking about the lens cap and you popped it off?  If you put alcohol in that end you'll need to saw or file a couple of relief slots near the connector so the alcohol can drain out but your battery as you irrigate it.  It should be pretty dead if you did that so don't know if it would charge up.  When you charge it, let the battery hang with the led side down with the lens cap off.  If you're lucky, your battery will hold the charge but I'm not too sure about a completely dead battery coming back to life but at least you didn't destroy the switch.  I'm experimenting with this stuff because I have lithium batteries on other household items that lasted me for years, not months or weeks and I hate to waste money because of a busted swich.

I'm pretty sure the switch is busted. Lucky they include 2 batteries with it. Pity I can't afford another one. Hope this one holds out!

I'd eventually like to get a manual passthrough to plug into a battery pack I'd keep in my shirt pocket so I can recharge the battery every night instead of carrying chargers around all the time.  I do love the pcc for the Titan and I have two of them but I don't think they have one for the 901 yet.  I'm still hoping to set up the battery pack thing when I get some bucks in my pocket.
