I have been vaping TW raspberry menthol Patriot range for past few months and was wondering if anybody has attempted to make this themselves.
I have never mixed my own e-liquid before so was hoping I could get a few tips from here.
From my understanding a 5ml bottle of flavour would make a 25ml bottle of 18mg e-liquid is that right?

Hiya When TW used to sell the range of DV flavours, my daytime vape was raspberry and coconut ice... was yummy, but I went off it after a while! lol I would mix a bottle of raspberry and a bottle of coconut ice, and then depending on how I felt at the time, would mix the two accordingly. People normally mix the concentrate at 20% but everyone is different. some do 10% others 25%, its just depends on what tastes best to you. You might be better mixing 1ml at a time if you're new to mixing. That way if you dont like it, you havent wasted a lot! The nicotine content would depend on how much youve mixed in? Have you popped over to mixing 101 and had a read? If not I suggest you make that your next port of call: http://www.totallywicked-eliquid.com/forum/mixing-discussions/mixing-101-11504/

I do like strawberry menthol mix at the minute... so thats not not far from raspberry! in a round about way You should find most things you need to know in the 101, but if theres anything else that you need to know, just fire away

Yep that's me too, Patriot range is good as it has the flavoured menthol mixes.
I have tried the strawberry menthol in Patriot range but it is nowhere near as good as the raspberry menthol.
Think I will just buy a couple of bottles of menthol and rasperry to start, I have read and watched a few vids tonight so I think I'm up for some experiments now.

ohhh lol, very daring! I can honestly say Ive heard of some people that will mix anything with menthol! lol I like fruits mixed with it, it just gives it that little bit of something special. My main menthol is the titan premixed, but I mix that with any type of fruit, home mixed or premixed! Theres a whole lotta mixing going on!

Decided to play it safe and go with raspberry, blackcurrant and watermelon which I will be adding a bit of menthol to all Oh I also got a rootbeer one to try! I do have a question maybe you can answer, if I'm making a small batch of say raspberry menthol, how many drops of menthol and raspberry should I use if a recipie says use 7 drops of flavour? Do you need more drops of raspbery over drops of menthol??

As for how much menthol to add... It all depends how much menthol you like!

I always do a little less menthol, as it can be very overpowering, but like Rich said it depends how much you like your menthol!
For me personally if it was 7 drops of flavour, I would probably do 3 menthol and 4 raspberry, but even that could be a be much on the menthol. Try it, and if the menthol is too strong, you could always add just one more drop of the fruit flavour, it wont make a lot of difference to the nic content.

Yes they are the red label flavours apart from the rootbeer one but I don't intend on adding any menthol to that one. I guess I just need to experiment with 1ml batches to start. Thanks for your help

Yep someone did that a while ago, they named it banana mental! lol i havent tried it, but let me know what its like? I do have some banana concentrate in my cupboard!
Nothing wrong with my banana mental weekend vape. Day time vape is bubblegum mental. Drop size from concentrate bottle is smaller than PI or TI drops. So I equate per 5ml mix 20 drops of banana or bubblegum or cherry and 7 to 9 max of menthol . Use any more than 9 drops of menthol in a mix and it overpowers the fruit flavour. (So 27-29 drops of flavour concentrate I equate to 1ml the other 4ml is made up of nic/pg/ag to give 11/12mg) 5ml Mix60/40 PG/AG mix 12mg TI 17 drops PG 33 drops AG 32 drops Banana 20 drops Menthol 7 drops (can always add more) Works out at about 18% flavour. Hey Os Sorry but I'm new to mixing, in your mix you have TI,PG and AG. I bought a bottle of PI and AG, my understanding is the PI has PG in it, is that right or do I need to purchase a bottle of PG too? Bubblegum mental sounds good

PI is nicotine thats suspended in EITHER pg or vg depending on what you went for. However the strength is 54mg so needs to be diluted. The only way to do this is mix it with PG and/or VG to lower the nic level then add your concentrate taking into consideration the concentrate will also dilute the nic level so your 3 things that need to have the ratios bang on to get the right nic level are
PI PG and or vg Flavour concentrate
too much of either and you will have too high or low nicotine mg

Oh right, so I got PI and selected PG, and bought a bottle of AG to dilute, I can just combine them two with my selected flaour right?
So what Os is saying is that he uses both PG and VG to dilute yeah?

Yep indeed since your primary dilutant is vg it the liquid will vape quite smooth with lots of vapour if you wanted more throat hit with a little less vapour you would then need to buy some pg and add that along with your vg
But you got it so its now time to mix up a batch
I would suggest making a small batch and make up everthting then add your pi because if you add that first and make a mistake your having to throw out the most expensive part of mixing and that's your nicotine solution

So you would make a small batch and do a test vape without the PI added?
I don't quite get why when purchasing the PI you can select PG or VG, I thought if you buy it with PG then add AG to dilute that would give you a balance of throat hit and vapor.
Sorry, all new to me this, sure I will be sorted once I start experimenting.

Well I would make a small batch add everything then add my pi and have a vape on it. If I liked it I would use the same ratios to make up a full bottle. Its just you might add too much vg or too much concentrate then realise one of those oh #£%& moments but if you add your pi last any mistake in amounts is easily remidied at little cost.
Second you can buy pi in vg or pg as some people don't like pg at all or are allergic to it so having vg pi is the only way they can make up near full vg mixes as concentrates are almost always pg based as well.
I really like the throat hit so would opt for vg pi as I would use that then dilute the whole lot with pg so the biggest % in my mix was pg but the vg from the pi would provide me enough vapour and sweetness.
If I didn't want any sweetness it wanted to stealth vape I might use pi pg and dilute with pg giving a stealth vape liquid
Or
I might want to be able to add more vg as required so would use pg pi dilute with a little pg then top up the rest with vg to smooth out the vape and add a good sweetness to a flavour.
Its all about trial and error plus keeping a note of what you added since when you find one you like you need to know what % you used of everything
I find I mix pre mixed liquids say 11mg down to 5 or 8mg with pg and sometimes add a little vg to sweeten it that also works and you get some more liquid for your ££ doing this as well.

Ok, thanks for your help.
Going to be a learning curve this!
So if I just use PI (PG) diluted with AG I'm going to get clouds of vapor but with less throat hit?
Hopefully my order will get delivered tomorrow so I can start playing around, wish I had ordered some PG now to be on safe side.

pretty much but nic level also denotes throat hit so if you vape at about 18mg you will proablly still get a small throat hit plenty of vapour though yes

Hi lilbod, most premixed eliquids are approximately 80%/20% PG/AG. If you have bought PI in PG and say for instance you want to make up an 18mg nic strength liquid, one third of your mixture is going to be PI (PI is 54mg so dividing it by 3 you will achieve 18mg). So far your mixture is 33% PG content, then you want to add say 20% flavour, (which is also PG based) means the total PG content of your mixture is now 53% to make this up to 100% you need 47% of diluent, in your case this would be AG, so your final mix will be 53%/47% PG/VG. If you wanted to replicate a premixed then you would have to substitute some of the AG diluent with PG diluent. So instead of 47% AG you could use 27% PG and 20% AG, so then if we look back your mixture would be made up of 33% PI PG, 20% of flavour PG, 27% of diluent PG, making a total of 80% PG based ingredients, just leaving 20% AG to make up the final total of 100%. So I always think it is wise to have both AG and PG diluent in your stock for flexibility I hope I've not confused you with all this, lol

So I have been mixing for the past few days. I have made a mix of all the flavours I bought and added a bit of menthol to all. The raspberry flavour is very different to the raspberry menthol I'm used to, it's VERY raspberry, kind of like the raspberry sauce you get on an ice cream It's quite nice though. Watermelon with a bit of menthol added is very nice too, again the watermelon flavour is very strong but it's quite nice. My favourite is blackcurrant/menthol, it kind of tastes like blackcurrant tunes/halls soothers cough sweets My only issue is with the menthol flavour itself, it's not menthol enough and seems quite sweet to me. I'm used to vaping something called Menthol Ice XXX which they add menthol crystals dissolved in and it hits you like a smack in the face! I have just ordered some of the DV range menthol which they use menthol crystals in so hopefully I can achieve what I'm looking for. Have also order some Mentholyptus flavour too which I will add to my current flavours, trying to make a Airwaves chewing gum type of effect
