I need some help with Mixing

Hi Guys,

I have read most of your guides out there but don't seem to be getting things right.

I like using Menthol premix so thought I would try to create something on the same lines as that.

I bought some VG from the pharmacist and diluted it to 85% VG to 15% water to use before the stuff from TW comes.

I try to use the calc to make a 18mg mix with the menthol flavor but it does not come out right it seems.

I want to be able to use the TW smokymiser with it as well.

I use -
Titanium Ice 54mg PG based
PG from TW
The affore mentioned VG
Red label Menthol


Any advice would be appreciated.

As I see it (and trust me, I'm not an expert, but have had alot of great help) you're not doing anything wrong.

But if you want the exact taste of a premix (which, I have heard, isn't easy), you'll have to get the brand of nic-base, as the premix you buy.

Ex: I like red Label Blended Tobacco. So, if I wanted the same taste as the premixed, I would have to buy the Red Label Blended Tobacco Unflavoured 36 mg nicotine base, and then ad the flavourconcentrate marked Red Label Blended Tobacco. Otherwise you won't get the near exact match you're looking for..

That's what I have heard

But the nicotine base you bought is good You'll just have to find the level of taste, throathit and vapour that is just right for you (Easier said than done, I know )

I put in the following factors (in red).   I just guessed at the % of flavor you might want and figured in 80 to 20 ratio of PG to VG (figuring your itanium ice is PG)

Recipe Calculator
User Input
Nicotine Base  mg/ml   54
Target Nicotine Level  mg/ml  18
Amount to Create  ml 1
Water Added (optional)  %
Flavor Percent  % 15

THEN, this is how it processed it.  

Recipe
ingredient ml drops* % of total
PG or VG with nicotine 3.3 ml 66 drops                       Your ttitanian ice

PG or VG (no nicotine) 3.2 ml 64 drops 32.0%             Your PG

Water 2.0 ml 40 drops 20.0%                                      Your VG

Flavoring(s) 1.5 ml 30 drops 15.0%                              Your red label menthol


*Drops are an estimation. 20 drops of water from a dropper equals approximately 1ml. BUT DEPENDS ON what dropper you use!

hi and sorry your post seems weird my 18 ml mixs for a 1ml tanks only ever have 9 drops of 54ml ice thats tw guide iam i getting something wrong

I'm sure that's a 10ml mix. Looks like a typo. It should read,
Amount to Create  ml 10

Thanks Rich for figuring that out -- it WAS a typo; recipe for making 10ml, not 1ml.   I tried to copy and past the darn thing, but it wouldn't put in those quantifiers, so "I" had to type them in!   Additionally, my original post didn't have the quantifier for the "water added," which would really be the PG.   I can't modify the post now, but the "recipe calculator" should read as follows:

Hi Guys,

Thanks for all your help and advice.  I managed to get it to taste ok.  All it needed was to be left to steep for a while.  Used it in the smokymiser last night and had a great vape .

Any more tips while mixing or mistakes that people have made that I can avoid will always be appreciated .

People always makes sure to tell me to mix in small batches If you do this, you can't go that wrong

I always try to do them in about 1ml batches - Being a poor PhD student it means I cant afford much waste.  After 1ml I make a 4ml one and give it a good go and if it is good then I will try to make a larger batch.  But I seem to have got a good menthol mix now that works wonders.  Just got some more flavors to have a play with.  So just still on with the mission to make the Ice Menthol premix...

I'm looking forward to try to recreate the Red Label Blended Tobacco and then I have this wierd feeling, that mixing strawberry and vanilla will make my taste buds go over the moon

Yeah, I meant to put AG!   2 screw ups in one post!   I normally don't give opinions or advice on mixing cause I'm so new at it myself.   But I do know how to use the blasted calculator.   Yeah Stevie -- you gotta take my word on it!

One thing I dont understand is it seems like you have to have nicotine in your e liquid, can someone help me create a mix without nicotine. I will be using VG and I got whisky flavor off Totally Wicked. I dont understand, I am very new to vaping so thanks for your help.
