Thank you very much for taking the time and the trouble of putting this together Bodhii, I'm sure it is going to save me making some mistakes along the way, so good on ya! BAzz, you mentioned that you'd located a place to buy syringes and blunt needles, that sounds like a great idea, if you are allowed could you post a link to the page or place please, or if not, perhaps you'd be kind enough to point me in the right direction in a way that is allowed on the forum, thanks. Kind regards Steve

Wow, just read the original post and I have to say, mixing now seems a lot less scary! I may even give it a try myself sometime now...!

Well, I haven't done my my Rootbeer Float yet, because I wanted to start off with single flavor mixes before I move on to multi flavored mixes. So, last night I mixed up a 5ml bottle of Statex 555 at 70/30 PG/VG and a 5ml bottle of repurposed Titan tobacco and Vanilla. Been letting the bottles sit for 12hrs or so before vaping to let the flavors marry, I'll see how they taste this afternoon.

Every time you use your mix, shake it up nicely until it blends completely. I make my mixes and leave the bottles out for 2 -3 days shaking here and there or every time I top up with it. Then to the fridge it goes unless it's my daily vape.

Not sure how much it helps to keep your mixes in the fridge (although it certainly can't hurt) unless you think it's going to be a while before you use all of it. I do keep my nic base in the fridge and would keep any bulk, or large quantity (30ml or more for me) of mixed eliquid there too, but as it stands I keep my mixed eliquid in a drawer where it's handy. I do think it's a good idea to keep them out of the light, and important to keep them tightly capped. I mix just about everything in 15ml batches, and at the rate I vape, even though I have a lot of 6ml and 15ml bottles of mixed eliquid, it's not around too long.

Absolutely 8ball thanks for pointing that out. I forgot to mention, Tightly capped and out of light! Those are key to short term freshness and the first steps to long term storage. IMHO there really is no in between cause that just makes more work. I only fridge fluid that I don't vape daily. Daily vapes stay under my desk to be shaken daily and steep to full potential (only lasting a few weeks at most under there till vaped completely). Color change is inevitable though it won't hinder vapor, hit or flavor disappointing.

I mix the same volume with every different flavor. Mine is a simple mix and I do not need a calculator any more. I mix 10 ml at a time. You can use a medicine dropper that you can buy at the pharmacy for about 3 bucks. It measure in milliliters. I use 100mg nic juice. My target nicotine base is 24 mg. 24 mg of 100 mg nic juice equals 2.4 ml. I pour 2.4 ml of nic juice into a mixing bottle. My flavor is usually 20% so I then pour 2 ml of flavor into the mixing bottle. That leaves 6.4 ml for you diluent. Tada!

Yeah, this is a great primer by Bodhii. If you have any questions or need any help, just ask. There's almost always someone hanging around on the forum that can help you out. Happy mixing!

Sounds simple and close to my mix. I use herc VG 36mg. Using a 10ml bottle Fill half way with herc (5ml). Add 1-2ml flavoring. Fill to the bottom of the bottles neck with PG. Shake! 18mg 50%VG. Whalla!

I see a couple folks stating an end result VG/PG ratio. Are ya'll taking into account the (likely) PG base in the flavoring?
I have pure VG from the pharmacy so I am thinking that Xml PG nic base + Yml flavoring + (X+Y)ml VG will give me a 50/50 mix.
Do y'all using AG calc out the 15% water from your ratios?
PG seems to be bothering me a bit when it's stronger than 50/50 so I'm trying to get closer to a 70/30 VG/PG ratio with mid teens nic strength.
I am thinking I'll need to add some water back into to thin it a bit or will the PG nic base + flavoring thin it enough??
Thanx, Skip

Not hard at all jed. Jump right in and we'll give you all the help you need. I would advise keeping at least your nicotine base in the fridge if you can. Some keep everything in there..... I don't. Just my nicotine base and DV Absinthe concentrate. Everything else (other flavor concentrates, VG (I don't use PG) mixes) I just keep in drawers or containers. The enemy of all this stuff is air, light, and heat. So.... the less air in the bottle, heat in the room, and light it's exposed to the better.... that said, VG is a natural whatzits (damn word won't come out of the back of my head at the mo..... anyway, it inhibits bad growies in the mix (PG may be a whatzit too, don't know (or don't remember))). I've read post from peeps (Nick O Teen (the brain behind DV) being one of them) that claim mixes still vape and taste great two years or more down the road (and one of those was left to sit on a desk in the light). Your mixes will darken over time. That's just various ingredients interacting with the nicotine in the base. Different flavor concentrates will yield different colors, and most all will darken over time. Let us know of any specific questions your have. Happy mixing!

It is great fun. And you also get your juice the way you like it. Me for example want more VG and flavour. Only way to get that is mixing myself.
