I just want to add a +1 to what Dan said, I have tried the 15% vodka in with VG, and
it didnt make the slightest bit of difference to throat hit.
I would go with a variable voltage device, and maybe a dual coil carto Wink

Nothing like it, duel coils give better heat, so therefore more vapor, and flavour, some swear by them, I don't really like them very much.
I don't think you can beat a low resistance single coil atty...just my opinion though.

so you think maybe i should just try the low resist tank attys?

how much less of a life span do they have as opposed to a normal atty?

As Dan knows I swear by the dual coil tanks I just got some of the two hole cartos thanks to barry grant and they are the nuts. They vape just like a freshly filled carto through the full tank. Wouldn't say there was more vapour than the single coils but they do produce a great cloud.

Sometimes the higher heat from the low resistance attys causes a slight loss in flavour depending on the flavour. But I have only has this with one liquid which was orange but everything else I think it gives more flavour

The life on an LR isn't much different in terms of the coil lasting. The issue would be higher heat crudding up the coil faster. Just remember to keep the coil wet at all times. Better more than less, if the coil gets very low amounts of juice on it while vaping it burns it to crud and covers the coil much faster than if I was very wet. Wink

Is there any place on this site to find the recommended Flavor Percentages? I thought I saw it somewhere on the site but I cant find it again.

Its usually 10% - 15% but if you want to try up to 20% that's about the most you should add. Start at 15% then you can lower or increase the amount. Its a good starting point

At a guess I would say you are using drops to 'measure' your mixes? Unfortunately that is the least accurate method and if you don't use the same types of droppers for all your ingredients it can be wildly out in your actual percentages.

so would it be better to work it out in ml then i have found a recipe calculator on line so maybe if i used a saringe it would be better

That would be for if you want a mixture of PG and VG, so if you're using Knotons Mixing Helper then 1st diluent would be the same as your Nic base and second diluent would be the other, so for your kit with VG Platinum Ice 1st diluent is AG and second diluent would be PG. As a side note most flavour concentrates are PG based and so will count towards your percentage of PG.

what i would like to see is a mixing calculator that would give you how many mls of each, PG/VG when you enter for example, 40% PG 60% VG.  i always need to use my calculator to compute that.  im lazy.

Knotons calculator does that, you put in the percentage of the second diluent and it gives ml and drops for the volume you want.

Can I premix my PG/AG to avoid having to measure them both when mixing?  For example, I have 2 half empty bottles, can I just pour them together and call it 50/50 or whatever ratio I appear to have?  This is assuming I still have additional bottles in case I want to adjust the taste one way or the other. I just want to know if they are stable mixed together, do they incorporate together well?  Is there any reason not to mix them together? (other than not being able to unmix them)

No problem at all with doing that Arla, if anything you'll find that your flavours reach their final consistency/taste slightly quicker that way.  the only reason I don't do the same is that I like to vary the ratio a little depending on which flavours I'm using.

Hi all
Another question,
I successfully dilutated 18mg down to 9mg, by adding 7ml PG, 2ml VG and  1ml flavour, so now I want to dilute it further, down to approx  half again 4.5mg so do I add the same or something different. I am trying drop nicotine level for October to see if it makes a difference.
Thanks again

Hiya Sarah101, yep, same again will halve the nic strength again and keep approximately the same ratios as your mix already has.
See.... mixing ain't that complex after all, is it ?  Wink
Happy vaping.

Hiya jnt1983, welcome to the forum. Which way you go with the PG and VG depends very much on what nic strength you want to mix to, and what proportion of PG and VG you want in your mix. The premixed juices are 20-30%VG. If you can give us a bit more info on what you're aiming for then we can point you in the right direction.

Hi Stevied, thanks. I am looking to create a final mix with simmilar nicotine content to a American Red Tobacco cig. I am looking for both vapour and throat hit. I was advised vg Nic and pg dilutant. However also been advised pg Nic with ag dilutant and an extra bottle of pg dilutant. I guess a result simmilar to pre mixed might be quite good but don't know as have not bought pr.e mixed for a while. I am planning on using an odyssey. Will definetely experiment with flavours. What I don't get is, is there a difference between. Using vg Nic and pg dilutant and using pg Nic with vg/ag dilutant? Really want to replicate throat hit of a real cig and a nice cloud. Is this what you needed to know? Do you know how much finished product a 50ml mixing kit would make at this high strength for titanium and platinum? This forum is awesome! Thanks so much for the help.

Hiya jnt1983, sorry, may just be that I am tired... end of the week and it's getting late here  Grin but but you have not said what strength nic (ie 8, 11, 18, 24 or 36mg or whatever you use) you want to mix to (There is no direct match between strength of juice vaped and amount of nic in a cigarette). What difference does it make which way round they are? Well, if you want to stick with the standard 80:20 mix of PG:VG at high nic strength  like 36mg you will need for a 10ml mix 5ml of PG TI, 1.5ml flavouring (Also PG based in most cases), 2ml VG/AG diluent and 1.5ml PG diluent. Using Platinum Ice it would be 6.7ml PG PI, 1.5ml flavouring, which only leaves 1.8ml for VG/AG so you can't quite make the 20% mix unless you use some VG based PI as well. I hope this explains what the difference can be.
As to how much juice you will get from 50ml of TI or PI, again, it depends on what strength you are mixing to....50ml TI will give 100ml @ 36mg, 200ml @ 18mg, 257ml @ 14mg or 450ml @ 8mg. PI will give a third less as it is only two thirds as strong as TI.

Hi All,

Damn, I wish I read this thread before ordering my mixing kit this weekend... I ordered:

Titanium Ice - VG
Dilutent - VG

Did not realise I would need to thin the VG dilutant!! Shame the ordering system does not flag this, instead you are sent on a merry trip around the site to look at info on the dilutants product page Sad

I've mailed info@ with my order number, hopefully they can swap the dilutant to AG  Embarrassed

Failing that I will have to steal some distilled water from my watercooled PC  Huh

Yeah, I recently cleaned out my watercooling system and used distilled water from my local motor spares shop, just don't want to be messing around thinning things down being so new to the vaping world.

I'll pop in tomorrow and pick up a bottle, just in case.
