The Black SD MKII...omfg she's sexy!!!

« on: August 07, 2011, 12:14:22 AM »

Okay so I am sure that this mod has been done to death before but I wanted to post it anyway.

I went to a local flea market and ran into a few Vapers. This one guy had this thick tank tube that held like 3-5ml. It was clear and had a cut carto inside the tube with the fluid around the carto... I was trippin out cause I had never seen anything like it before. I wish TW would carry 3-5ml super fat clearos....but anyway...

So this guy had some regular CE2 clearos and since I havent tried em yet I bought one off of him. He took a pen and pushed the guts out and cut the wicks in half to allow more fluid to fit in the clearo. Then when he reassembled it he left the rubber ring that sits on top of the wick out and stuck a drip tip inside all the way down to the wick. I have to say its super sweet both in function and design as the drip tip looks like a psychedelic "I dream of Genii" bottle. I am using it on my SD and it's full and not leaking even though I have the SD laying horizontal on the table. Again, I am sure this is probably something most clearo owners have done but since it was my first clearo experience and tech a mod I thought I would post it here  Cheesy

Hey, it's pretty cool that you had somebody to actually show you a few pointers.  It's one thing to read things on a forum (even with occasional pics), but another altogether to actually watch someone do it Wink

I've seen miscellaneous tank mods around the 'net, though never seen one in person.  I plan on building my own in the near future, I've already rounded up the parts and just need to get up the oomph to actually do it.  I'm actually thinking of doing it bottom-coil style, with a standard size clearo in the bottom of a large tank with a central air tube around the CE2 guts.  by my best estimate based on the parts I'll be using, I'd estimate it will be close to 15ml if I go close to 2" long Grin  I'm eager to see how well it works out

Yeah, I've looked at those, and come to the conclusion that I simply don't need to spend the money.  I'm fine with 1-2ml capacity for everyday vaping since I usually vape a few different flavors in a given day.  Building my own will be more for the "sh*t's and grins" factor than anything else Wink

In my opinion these clearotank mods look hideous, I can understand KJ "sh*t's and grins" factor though Grin but I wouldn't shell out money for one. It's difficult enough to convince the general public of the benefits to vaping without trying to explain what looks like a portable "Hookah" pipe to everyone  Undecided

It was my personal opinion Mack, lol, but I'm quite sure if TW can find a reliable supplier they will be stocked in the near future Grin

Look forward to them doing just that, Wink IMHO the clearo always produced a hot vape which was not to everyones taste, the mod  for me anyway allowed me to deal with the cracking tube problem AND produced greate taste win win  Cheesy Cheesy-- havent tried the duel coils in the tank yet as Im happy with them as it is  Smiley

I have one I use it on larger mods.  It does put a bit of distance between your lips and the coil, it holds a boatload of juice, keeps most vapers going all day long! Smiley  I did manage to crack the tube on the tank and have a replacement on its way.  In the interim I tried a syringe mod on a clearo from TW.  Which is awesome because with the clearout sale I'm getting clearos about 5 bucks cheaper at tw than what most places are selling the metal bodied version.  Very happy with the results, it could possibly replace the 510 as my preferred way to vape, even though I'd still stock a few for meets and occasions where I'd be sampling many different juices.

I can fit any 510/901 drip tip in that I want.  It doesn't have the capacity of the larger tank in fact holds about the same as the stock tube.  I notice with the larger tank after a while I wasn't filling it all the way because, well, it's quite a commitment.

If you haven't ordered one of the tanks yet maybe give this mod a try first see how you like it, with the exception of the capacity, it performs similar to the big tank but cost me 1/250th the price.

Check it out, see what you think:
http://www.totallywicked-eliquid.com/forum/modification-area/best-10-cents-i-ever-spent/

Unfortunately, I looked up the CE3's, I could be wrong, but it looks like they switched the coil to the bottom.

I don't know how these mods based on CE2s are going to fair with the new design.  I'm late to the party with the syringe mod, hopefully the CE2 won't become obsolete  Cry

Hi Dereck72 I think the new ones are catterd for by drilling / punching a hole in the side/bottom of the new tube and fitting the whole unit into a modified large clear tank Wink havent tried the duel coil ones using this method but I belief it has been done  Wink

here is mine. It has made my vaping out of this world. i tweeted mr wicked to get him to stock them. ive never had a leak and never had a dry hit. it also renders the clearo problems to the bin as it only uses the internals. for my money this is the best vape possible and tw are missing a trick

..... now, the question is, can one get a CE 3 in a "tank" ?    Smiley

to the previous poster ref to the "tank" - vapenator - there are 2 varieties ive found, no names here sorry, one is a good'ish price, we'll leave it there Smiley    hence to say I think(?) that is the same as mine, and its the more reasonably priced LOL, I looked at the "other" and even with the added "bits" it didnt warrant the cost to me personally.

Cheers, lee

I tend to stick to my standard tornado tanks when i need something smaller and im a bit of a one flavour guy. banana mixed 50-50 with menthol just hasnt been bettered yet. was really looking forward to trying dv blacurrant but found it a bit sickly (must get it on trades lol). I spend a lot of time away from home so the 5ml tank is great. it was kind of expensive but ive saved a ton of money having only used one xl clearo guts in the last 2 weeks with no cracking and zero leaks

I will try when they come in. I have two of those tank mod also and it would depend on what the guts look like on the Ce3. I think I saw something on youtube about a ce3 tank mod.  But with the new material the plastic is made of it might not be worth it since it will not crack.

Just found pictures of the new Ce2's

(the pic is of the 808d-1 version, but the 510 should be the similar)
with the new tubes like the ones in my pic above and the guts of the Ce2's...I'm a happy camper...hopefully TW will be getting these.  Cool
