Cy... I got two, have tried to fit one to my MkII silver SD tonight but having issues. They look brilliant and I didn't think I'd have any issues fitting them. Before I try on a newer black one, could you tell me how you put it together ie particularly where you placed the shims please in case I'm being a thicko?! Really hoping that I've just had a dumb moment *fingers crossed*

The shim slips on the post before you put it in the SD body, it lifts the post to give a little less throw on the switch.
Remember not all SD’s are identical.

Hi Chops... if you are having a problem with it just let me know and i will sort it out for you no problem at all.... there really aint much that can go wrong with it so im sure the problem is pretty simple... it can only fit one way... as said above ... simply put the shim over the shaft... it will only slide on so far, sometimes the shim can slide on at slight angle or when you install it .. it can move into that slight angle.. once the shaft is in just move it around a little with your finger to seat it properly,,,, after that , all should be fine.... if it fires when you screw the top cap on just remove the shim..... some people may need the shim , some may not,...... sorry i didnt come on earlier but i didnt get email notification of any replies on the thread,,,,,,,,, let me know plz.... cheers.

Some SD springs are thicker and fewer coils on them, others are thinner with more coils , stretching didn't do it for my old spring... simple problem but took a while to see it was that at fault  lol |

I never worry about sticking SD in pocket now....., and no plastic cover - class !
