OK, Had a false start with my Odyssey in that the plinth wouldnt screw down properly.
CS as always were fantastic, I received my new part quickly. So big thanks go out to
customer services for that Wink

My problem is that my Odyssey just doesnt seem to have any 'oomph' about it,
after reading others comments about great TH, I'm wondering why mine seems to
be lacking in that department?  I have tried my normal DCT on it, but still not meeting
my expectations. I tried my ego-c on it, and this seems better, but not as good as on an
ego-c battery.

I find that I do get a decent TH for about the first half an hour after I pop in a newly charged
battery. I have 4 batterys, and getting through 2 a day, but also using my ego-c set up as
well, I think my batteries are lasting me around 4 hours of use, but all 4 seem to be the same.

It can't be a dodgy carto, as like I said, I've tried my (plastic) DCT on it too....

Idea's anyone please?

Hi sounds like you may have a dodgy connection, you should get more th on the stronger battery, have you tried cleaning the connections?

Hopefully that helps. Usually when I get weak hits it's a dirty or lint stuck in the connection.

Mine was a bit like that then I tightened the battery connector via the big gold screw inside the battery holder, much better now and a tighter lock Smiley

Well I did clean the contacts with some isopropyl (?) alcohol, think thats what its called, lol
and it made a teeny difference, nothing to shout about though.

I tightened the brass screw on monday as I noticed that the lockable bit was very loose,
no difference to the power though.

Hi ceekay,

The no "get up and go" had me puzzled for most of the night, but I think with a bit of tinkering I've figured it out.  I've had this on and off with some of the prototypes, but your thread has made me do some investigation.  Anyhow, here's what you need to do:

Remove the battery and DCT from the Odyssey.

Wipe clean the top of the battery compartment.

Find a sharp yet safe implement.  I used a small pair of nail scissors.

Scratch / abrade the central contact in the DCT connector.  You won't get very deep into it as the plating is quite hard, but abrading it will be enough..

Reassemble the Odyssey and let me know if the "oomph" returns.

It appears that the conductivity of the plating on this contact isn't great, hence the poor performance on some Odysseys.  If it makes no difference, let us know and we'll supply another battery compartment top.  We're aware of this issue, and are working on a more satisfactory solution.  It was never our intention to make early customers part of the test team, but we're really glad you've made such a good job of it.

All the best

Hi Liam,

thanks for your input, should I scratch the odyssey end of the centre pin, or the pin on the actual DCT?
I have already had a new end part, as the plinth wouldnt screw down on the old one, this new part made
no difference.

Thanks

Why not try the new cone shaped attys on the Odyssey.  I have had some great results with them!

Lots of omph and the battery has lasted ages!  So much so I'm still using yesterdays batt.

Hi Ceekay, I think Liam means the pin in the top half of the Odyssey.

Will be intersting to know if this works for you, let us know how you get on!

Thanks

Yes, the pin in the top half of the Odyssey.  I managed to find a prototypre that had less oomph than most last night, and abrading the central contact made a definite difference.

Right, I have scratched the centre post on the top part of the Odyssey,
and there does seem to be a difference! But I also popped a newly charged battery
in there too, so I'm going to wait and see if I get the 30 mins to an hour of decent
vaping, then see if it tails off like normal.
One thing I have noticed my old DCT creates much more TH and vapour than the
the SS DCT that came with the Odyssey, and the carto in the old DCT is weeks old now!

Maybe I do have a dodgy carto in the new SS DCT, so I might change that over soon
and see if it makes a difference as well.

But for now, yes there does seem to be a noticeable improvement!  Smiley

Thanks for the help Liam, I'll let you know whether it lasts.

I had to change my battery, was only getting wisps, lol

Well although the battery did seem to drop after an hour-ish,
there is still a remarkable improvement after adopting Liams advice Smiley

I've depleted two batteries now after I scrapped the contact pad, and it feels like an improvement. Normally the TH would stop when the batteri had around 50% left, now It seem more like 25-30%. I've also noticed the TH fades when the DCT has 15-20% liquid left. After a refill the TH was back.

Hello,

I have to say I have a slightly temperamental Odyssey.
Every now and again the thing just does not want to vape.  At first this was very rare but is happening more frequently.

Also the Carto keeps flooding. I have now gone through 5 cartos in the time I have had the Odyssey and thats only using it half the time, I keep going back to my normal DCT with Ego battery.
I cant understand why other that the Odyssey just does not seem to have enough kick at times.

I have never had an issue with flooded Carto on my standard DCT on an ego battery.

Any advice with the above issues would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Leo,

Probably a bad contact inside the connector.  We've had a lot of trouble with this.  Contact CS and ask for a replacement top section.  We are taking action for a more permanent remedy within the next few weeks.  This will be provided to all existing Odyssey customers.
