TW Patriot Range Patti’s Wicked Mint (18mg) August 2010

As I’ve mentioned once or thrice in previous postings, ramblings and reviews – although I didn’t care at all for menthol ciggies during my smoking ‘career’, mint and menthol type liquids are always going to be at the top of my shopping list. Naturally, I was delighted that Patti’s juice was up for reviewing so, without any further waffling on my part – here goes…..

Equipment – DSE901, new / primed atomiser, fully-charged 380mAh manual battery, cartridge. (Also, 510LR, fully-charged 1000mAh Tornado manual battery, direct-drip via a short metal tip)

Colour of liquid – Clear coral

Smell of liquid – Mint, dental mouthwash – absolutely divine…..   Tongue

Flavour / Taste – From the draw, to the inhale, to the exhale – the whole mouth cavity is captured by a wonderful slightly cooling, very pepperminty taste – where I can detect also a measure of citrus (I’m tempted to say lemon). It’s gorgeous – what a nice mixture. However, the fun part for me is the aftertaste: The mint flavour is rightly retained but the citrus disappears and is replaced with a soothing, creamy taste of an Everton (toffee) mint – so, in fact, what you’re getting is two flavour mixes for the price of one – and it works exceedingly well. Excellent stuff indeed……. 9.5/10

Throat Hit – A nice complementary throat-hit which suits the flavour ever so well. On the 510LR it almost threatens to override everything (especially on a deep inhale) – it’s quite harsh but not horribly so but it might be too powerful for some – worth a mention I thought - perhaps it’s me still kinda getting used to the LR. For me personally, it’s lovely on the 901 and at 18mg, there’s definitely a kick….. 8.5/10

Vapour Content – Most of the PR juices I’ve had the privilege and honour of sampling, I’ve found that they’ve done rather well with the vapour production. Patti’s Mint is no exception and is well-above average on the 901. On the 510LR – well, there’s always going to be an increase in vapour content but the 901 is surely no slouch…. 8.5/10

In Summary – Knowing that this liquid has its fans – and very deservingly so, well, you can add me to that growing list of folk who appreciate all things minty and menthol. This is a real winner for me and I congratulate our cousins across ‘the pond’ for coming up with such a fine juice. Right, I’m off to give the 36mg version a try   Tongue   Shocked  …….. 8.83/10

Happy vaping everyone…..   Smiley

PR Patti's Wicked Mint 18mg

With this flavour I'm using the Tornado battery with the 510 atomiser and a TW nylon drip tip.
On receiving the juice it's a pale pink in colour, and the aroma from the bottle is quite a sweet  mint, with a hint of toffee.
Dripping the juice it's a good consistency, not too runny.
On inhaling, this flavour is a very fresh but sweet mint. This reminds me of Fox's glacier mints. Even after putting the vape down, when you inhale you still get the minty taste lingering, around the mouth and on the throat. I can also taste a slight sweet toffee flavour.
I've tasted a few menthol types, and this one I think is the first I've tasted where the mint is still noticeable  for a good ten minutes afterwards, not overpowering, I just feel like I'm still sucking on a glacier mint, very refreshing.
I never really smoked menthol cigarettes, and to be honest, I never really thought I'd enjoy any menthol/minty vapes. Over the last 15 months I have enjoyed every menthol/minty flavour I have tried. TW Red Label menthol, PR Newport Menthol, PR Menthol Ice and now PR Patti's Wicked Mint. These all vary and I didn't really know you could get so many amazing flavours with menthols/minty vapes.
Throat hit is great, very refreshing quite sweet and not too harsh.
This juice gives off a good amount of vapour. There is a sweet aroma with this vapour produced, but it doesn't linger.
Patti's Wicked Mint for me is a great vape, very refreshing, great throat hit and lots of vapour. I would definitely recommend this,

Patti's Wicked Mint 18mg

This liquid is a clear orange colour and has a sweet menthol smell to it,

I was using the precious with a Low Res 510 atty whilst direct dripping
with this liquid.

This one took my breath away when i had my first vape on this liquid,,,lol,,,
on the inhale this one really does remind me of the XXX mint sweets we
get over here in the UK and it gave a massive menthol ice cool freeze on
the back of the throat, and on the exhale i could taste the mint along with
the menthol,,,it is alot smoother on the exhale and also leaves quite a long
after taste in the mouth and had my sinus working overdrive within minutes.

This flavour give a cracking throat kick with plenty of vapour,

Overall i found this liquid  to have a super strength menthol type of flavour to
it and like i stated resembles the taste of the XXX mint sweets over here in
the UK,,if you have a cold and need to clear your sinus then this will do the trick,,,,,,
infact if you dont have a cold it will still do the trick,,,lol,,,so if your into your
XXX sweets or love a strong menthol flavour this one should be on your vaping list,..

This review is of PR  “Patti’s Wicked Mint” – supplied at 18mg.

The liquid was used in a Screwdriver Mk 1 fitted with a newish TW 4075 atomiser and fresh cartridge - and with a freshly charged orange 1000mah Spiderfire battery.

The liquid rose-petal pink and nicely clear.   To me, it smells like a stick of seaside rock – very minty in a sweet way.

As always with PR range liquids, the liquid is sensibly runny and is absorbed well into the carts – both on first fill and top-up…

When vaped, the liquid tastes somewhere in between a stick of rock and a strong mint sweet.

The aftertaste is like a strong mint sweet but without the same intensity – for something that smells like a stick of rock though, the aftertaste is not as sweet as I expected.

Also surprisingly, the  liquid is not especially mouth drying and much less “sticky” than I expected.

The vapour is of good thickness and the hit on a par with other 18mg liquids.

The vapour smells pleasantly minty (and still “stick of rock”) in a pleasant way and hasn’t resulted in comment or complaint.

If you like mint, you should really like this liquid – it is MINT be aware, not MENTHOL

PR Pattis Wicked MInt 18mg

Another mint flavour to tickle the tastebuds. A lot of menthol liquids I have tried taste like mint. I usually class them all as mint as im
yet to come across one that I class as menthol. If anyone remembers, I like my menthol eye watering, anything way below to me is mint.

Going off topic, but just to give an idea on my tastes.
I got the impression from the name that this would be menthol lol. Or extra strong mint or something like that. It is a pretty strong mint, a very nice mint actually.

The smell is minty uh hu. Theres something about it though that reminds me of something else, im hoping it will come to me in a minute.
It does smell like a cross between some sweets and a mouthwash. It smells pretty good, but I can't figure out the missing ingredient yet Smiley

Using the 510 and SD, dripping this liquid is very good. Consistency is just right for dripping, and probably filling carts. It produces a lot of vapour
that freshens a room nicely.

The taste is great, refreshing, full flavoured mint, like a Fox's glacier mint. The surprise though is something else. It makes the taste seem heavier or denser, if that makes any sense.
It reminds me of a Mint bon bon, which is made up of toffee. Its a subtle toffee, but imo its there.
I really want to describe this but can't find the right words. Its minty, slightly toffee like, which is lovely. But theres also a bit of a medical mint taste. This medical mint is also
in the smell. Mouthwash or something used in hospital, thats the bit I can't pin down.

Im typing out loud here, sorry. I like this Wicked Mint a lot. One of the best mints i've tried. It has a sweet, toffee like quality to it that makes it different to other juices.
Its sweeter than some juices, but probably stronger as well. Over all I really liked it. Worth a go for mint fans, especially if you enjoy the Fox sweets or mint toffee bonbons.
Not as refreshing as a menthol, but a better taste due to the hints of other flavours.
