PR Peppermint Chocolate 18mg - August 2010

I will be vaping this flavour with a  TW regular cart and filler, on a 510 atomiser and the Tornado battery.
When this juice arrived, I was unsure whether I would like it, as I'm not keen on chocolate and mint together...separately I love them, but together... I've never really been keen, but here goes.
Well this juice arrived in a little black bottle…(which I like), but you can't see the clarity of the juice or colour (not a biggie at all,  I just thought I'd mention this, as I can only see the juice colour when I drip..I was wondering why there was an apology cover note, until I came to do my review...lol)

The colour when dripping is clear, and the juice is quite thick too but soaks nicely into the filler.
The aroma from the bottle is a lovely peppermint with a hint of chocolate running through.
Now onto the flavour...here goes….Well, what a very pleasant surprise (I'm now sat here wondering why I never liked mint chocolate..hmmm.)
The flavour is more mint than chocolate, but not overpowering. It's quite a warm flavour vape as the chocolate  tones down the peppermint slightly, so it's not at all harsh. When the chocolate flavour comes through it's a lovely flavour. It reminds me more of  Aero  mint chocolate more than After Eights, more a milk chocolate than a dark chocolate. Very nice indeed. (I never thought I'd be saying that about this kind of flavour, but there you go, if you don't try you never know)
The flavour stays with you for a while after vaping, a lovely fresh aftertaste. The throat hit is good, it doesn't knock you off your feet like other minty flavours can, but it's a warm chocolate mint,  refreshing and not at all harsh.
Vapor production with this juice is great. As with a lot of other PR flavours, there is usually a great amount of vapor, this is no exception.
There is an aroma left in the room after vaping, but it is a lovely chocolate mint smell, so not bad, and it doesn't linger for long.
All in all, a lovely vape….I think I may well have to go and try one of Mikes mint choc Cornetto's in the fridge...or maybe just stick to the vaping.

After doing my review Mike has had a vape, and loves it "Oooh, it's like mint Aero"
Well there you go, I'm now off to order some PR Peppermint Chocolate, then we can both enjoy it. (I was tempted to get Mike to do the review, as I knew he loved mint chocolate, and I was never keen. But that would indeed be cheating, and I would have most certainly missed out on another great flavour)
Enjoy

TW Patriot Range Peppermint Chocolate (18mg) August 2010

In the product description, this liquid is defined as a “flavourful pairing of refreshing peppermint and dark chocolate”. Well, I like peppermint, and I’m rather partial to a square now and again of dark chocolate – the more darker and bitter, the better I like it. 80 to 90% cocoa is fine by me. So, how did I find the PR Pep Choc combo?

Equipment – DSE901, new / primed (run-in) atomiser, USB pass-through, cartridge.

Colour of liquid – Clear

Smell of liquid – Hint of peppermint mixed with the slightest hint of chocolate

Flavour / Taste – From the draw, to the inhale, to the exhale – you get a faint taste of what I would describe as milk chocolate and, for me, it’s only the aftertaste which reveals the mild peppermint side of the equation. Once that starts coming through, then you can begin to detect a slight bitterness. Now, whether that’s a brief attempt by the chocolate to make a return I can’t tell, because the flavour you’re definitely left with is the peppermint – which does stay with you for a while but it really is quite tame. A nasal exhale offers even less in terms of initial flavour….. 5/10

Throat Hit – This is a juice which gives a delayed reaction when it comes to throat-hit, as the peppermint aftertaste gets to work on the top-of-chest and bottom-of-throat areas. It takes a few puffs for all this to get going but, when there, it’s quite soothing with no harshness at all…… 8/10

Vapour Content – It’s pretty much up there with most of the other PR juices I’ve tried, although others have produced slightly more vapour than this one. Still, you do get some fairly thick clouds which hang around a while so it’s quite respectable…. 8/10

In Summary – This juice could have been sitting along with my other favourites but it’s the lack of intensity of that initial flavour which, for me, lets the side down a bit - especially with what chocolate flavour that does come through resembles the milk variety rather than dark or plain. I’ve got no real problem with the actual flavouring but it’s like a tease – “I know what your tastebuds want, but they ain’t quite gonna get it”. On the plus side however, I’ve grown to appreciate the subtleness of the throat-hit combined with the mild peppermint aftertaste, lingering around for a fair while – and that’s the saving grace here because the more you vape this, the more you seem to be rewarded by that aftertaste and the effect that it has on the throat / chest. All in all though, it’s like listening to a full orchestra – but then realizing that most of the string section is missing. It just isn’t quite all there (a bit like me sometimes  Lips sealed )…… 7/10

Happy vaping everyone…..   Smiley

This review is of PR “Peppermint Chocolate” – supplied at 18mg.

The liquid was used in a Screwdriver Mk 1 fitted with a freshly broken-in TECC 4075 atomiser and fresh cartridge - and with a freshly charged yellow 1000mah Spiderfire battery.

The liquid is clear, but as it came in a black bottle I can't comment on the colour...  To me, it smells like “peppermint cream” chocolate bars of the "old days"..

As always with PR range liquids, the liquid is sensibly runny and is absorbed well into the carts – both on first fill and top-up…

When vaped, the liquid tastes just like a chocolate peppermint bar – one with dark chocolate rather than milk – it's actually very nice indeed and doesn't become slickly with fairly prolonged use.

The aftertaste is pleasingly not too sweet – the chocolate element removes any sugariness and leaves a peppermint taste which is quite “grown up” - there is definite dark chocolate “feel”.

Also surprisingly, the liquid is not especially mouth drying, but is fairly “sticky” - especially around the lips.

The vapour is “decent” rather than “thick”; the hit however is very pleasing – strong but smooth.

The vapour smells pleasantly pepperminty with a bit of chocolate and hasn't elicited negative comment.

This is one of best non-tobacco “recreational flavours” I've tried and I recommend it with confidence.

Peppermint Chocolate 18mg

This liquid is very clear with no colour and has a minty smell to it.

I was using the precious with a Low Res 510 atty whilst direct dripping
with this liquid.

This flavour reminds me of the chocolate bar mint aero,,or mint matchmakers,,
although im only getting a hint of the chocolate in this flavour,,,but it
is a very smooth vape,,,on the inhale im getting a smooth peppermint
taste and on the exhale is where i can taste the chocolate mixed with
peppermint coming through.

Im getting plenty of vapour on this liquid with quite a heavy/full kind of
hit on the back of the throat.

This is probably the nicest flavour ive tasted from the mint or menthol family
of flavours as its very smooth probably due to the chocolate in this mix,,,
if your a menthol lover i would think this will be quite a treat for the taste buds.

PR Peppermint Chocolate 18mg

This should be vaped after eight. This sample came in a black bottle, so I could only see it when dripping, and it looked pretty clear coloured to me.
I used my usual setup of 510 atomizer, drip tip and Screwdriver. (I no longer use Low Res atties after killing my beloved first SD with them)
I wasn't expecting much from this tbh as chocolate juices aren't usually my favourites.

Im impressed straight away with this. Lovely mint flavour and a creamy milk chocolate taste. Not the overpowering, sickly chocolate I was expecting.
Out of the bottle it reminds me of the smell of the Menthol carts you can buy, I think that was one of my first vapes, which to me has always been more mint than menthol.
With the chocolate added it turns into a great smell, very similar to a minty chocolate bar, like Aero mint.

It tastes great to me. Very smooth vape which gets the usual throat hit and vapour production of an 18mg juice used in a 510.
It does remind me most of After Eight thin chocolates, Aero bar, that sort of thing. Which is more than fine with me as love these chocolates.

I could vape this for long periods of time as its so nice. I can't find much to say about it as it does what it should. Tastes like the above whilst delivering the required nicotine.
If you like mint chocolates then definitly give this a try. I loved it.
