Red Label Banana 18mg

This was tested using a new 901/4075 atty with a fully charged battery in my nice new Black SD MkII.

Appearance:- This is a clear, deep pink/peach red  liquid, no floating particles or sediment, seems a bit thicker than normal..

Smell:- There is not a strong smell of any type from this juice, but it does smell sweet and ‘fruit flavoured’ almost like some of the mixed tropical juice drinks.

Vapour Production:- Only fair in the vapour production dept.

Vapour Flavour:- This is not a juice I was looking forward to trying as I hate banana flavoured sweets and drinks, I always find them perfumey and cloying...so I was very pleasantly surprised with this as the flavouring is only light, and all the better for it.

Appearance :- 9/10 Nice clean juice , deep pink/peachy colour, seems fairly thick.
Smell :- 6/10 It’s a mild, sweet, smell of ‘fruity’ flavouring
Vapour Production :- 6/10 fair to light amount of vapour which doesn’t hang around too long.
Vapour Flavour:- 7/10 Tastes much better than I expected, as it is not too strongly flavoured, but still not one of my faves.
Overall Scores:- 28/40 Better than I was expecting, if only because of the light touch with the flavouring, if you’re looking for something that tastes like Foam Banana sweets or Banana Nesquick, this is not it (Thankfully).

This review is of Red Label “Banana” – supplied at 18mg.

The liquid was used in a Nuck’s Fistpack fitted with a standard TECC 4075 atomiser and fresh cartridge – the Fistpack is the “LR” version, so I tested this juice at 3.7v and 4.2v (the extreme ends of adjustment for the LR version).

The liquid is slightly orangy red colour and is nicely clear. It smells a bit of bananas and quite sweet…

The liquid is suitably runny and soaks well into the cartridge on both first fill and top-up.

When vaped, the liquid tastes, of a gentle banana sweet flavour rather than the fruit itself, but it IS banana, just not overly strong or “authentic” – the flavour is better and more subtle at the lower voltage.

The aftertaste is also of banana but sweeter than the fruit I’d say - it leaves a certain amount of sweetish stickiness in the mouth which is not too much of a problem, but it does persist…
 
The vapour is “moderate”, even at the higher voltage, and at 3.7v the hit was too mild for me – at 4.2v it was “OK” but no more than that.  The vapour smells a bit fruity but is not highly scented at all.

So, this IS banana flavoured, but no strongly so, and not like a banana!  I find it a bit much in the aftertaste department for prolonged use and it lacks hit at this strength (perhaps that would be improved in a 36mg version?).     Not one for me, but to be honest, I don’t like bananas!

TW Red Label Banana (18mg) October 2010

Equipment – 510 cleaned standard atomiser, 650mAh manual Tornado battery, direct-drip method using a long metal tip.

Colour of liquid – Coral / Red

Smell of liquid – Slightly sweetened banana confectionary

Flavour / Taste – On the inhale I’m picking up a flavour which reminds me of the taste of a banana ice-lolly (ice-pop). The exhale and the aftertaste changes all that and the flavour becomes more like where a banana has reached (and slightly gone past) the stage when the skin starts getting brown spots – when it sufficiently ripens but prior to the fruit becoming too mushy. Although the flavour fills the whole mouth it is never overpowering, however, prolonged use does make the top of the mouth feel very slightly sticky and dry – but it’s not unpleasant….. 8/10

Throat Hit – A nice gentle slap on the back of the throat – just to let you know it’s there. Suits the flavour rather well….. 7/10

Vapour Content – Quite a bit above average in terms of vapour production. The clouds are by no means the thickest around but there are pleasing amounts of vapour which take a little time to disperse. A good performer…. 8/10
 
In Summary – Prior to trying this liquid I imagined that the RL Banana would be similar to an artificial / drink like taste, and the actual smell of the juice almost confirmed that. What this liquid does though, to me, is to meet me halfway. You get the confectionary taste at the beginning and then it switches over to the ripened fruit at the end.

You certainly don’t experience the taste of the banana where the fruit has just a normal yellow skin.  What’s more, nothing is overpowering – the taste, the throat-hit but you get pretty good amounts of vapour thrown in for good measure. All in all, a nice surprise….. 7.67/10

Red Label - Banana 18mg

I'm vaping this juice with the Tornado battery, 510 atomiser and a regular TW cart

On receiving the juice it's pale orange in colour and the aroma from the bottle is a lovely sweet banana. More toffee/sweet than real banana to me.

This juice drips nicely in the cart and not too runny.

On first inhale it isn't an overpowering banana flavour, it's there, but quite subtle. The more I vape it, the more the banana comes through, but it's still not overpowering.
 I'm a little torn as to whether I'm tasting fresh banana or toffee banana….On inhale, it's like a subtly tasting natural banana, but the flavour which lingers is like a toffee banana.
 I'm enjoying this flavour,  by not being overpowering, or sickly sweet  it's more likely to be a daily vape for me.
Throat hit from this juice is very good, especially for an 18mg juice, not too harsh. It is quite mouth drying.
Vapour is great, I'm getting quite a lot of vapour with this flavour. There is  a sweet aroma left in the room, which does linger for a little while, but it's a nice aroma to me and  I didn't mind it.

Sorry for the confusing review, all in all a  great juice and flavour, I'd buy this and recommend this flavour to others.
