Hi guys,

The attie i got with my 501 went weird on Tuesday night, it was not producing vapour, or very little of it.
So far i have put kitchen roll into it and blew down the small hole several times and have left it stood upright overnight to drain.

Thismorning its still not producing vapour and the same as it was on Tuesday night, is it dead? oh and it still glows orange.

I got some more with my order but dont really want to have to replace an attie every 5 days!

5 days does seem a bit short-lived: How much juice have you put through it? I find a 510 atty lasts for about 30-40ml of juice before it stops working well. If you've completely drained it it might be worth dropping a couple of drops of juice directly onto the bridge to re-prime it

I find the same, but it tends to be more like the 30ml for me.   You DO get the odd short-lived one though (usually balanced by the odd "stayer")

Jay

they last an "average" time some longer than others.. the odd one might last longer than average the odd might last "shorter" than average.. five days is well on the short side.. most will last longer..

one atomizer is just one atomizer just think of that one as a bad one..

trog

ps.. they dont just fail completely.. they just dont keep producing the same vapour as when new.. if you are prepared to tolerate a bigger drop off they will last a lot longer.. the 30 to 40 ml of liquid used is a common figure for a lot of long term users..

Actually trog, I find a lot of LR atomisers just stop stone cold dead - the "regular" atties tail off like you said.

I'll certainly back-up what the good Prof says about the LR atties. I've had three now which abruptly stopped working after giving around three to four weeks roughly of good service each - which I don't think is bad at all. In fact, I prefer it that way - you know where you stand and all I do is carry a couple of spares around with me. None of my LRs have simply faded away, they've all gone out with a bang.....

As for the standard atties, I've had ones that have begun to conk-out after a week, making them pretty much unusable. Then again, I've had some that have lasted pushing two months before really tailing off. Some have started off weak, and remained so, whilst others have gone like the proverbial freight-train from the off. It's the luck of the draw......   Smiley

Absolutely Caz, there's nothing better than an atty going out in a blaze of glory.....   Shocked
Then it can be given the sending-off it deserves....   Wink
