I don't think I'm drawing enough juice into my carto with my 3.5ml dct. There's always a slight burnt taste. Do people take a few hard draws every now and again so bubbles can be seen coming through the whole (to draw in more juice) when I normally vape there are no bubbles at all.

Yes.....a few hard draws works for me or drop a little liquid onto the top of the filler now and again.

drill the side hole then the problem seems to go away.
This seems to allow more liquid to flow into the foam padded centre and never dries out enough to give the burnt taste.
Still trial and error for me at the moment but this is what I have found so far.

ye I think the hole does need need to be slightly bigger. It does annoy me that every atomiser, tank or cartomiser always needs to be modified!!

Not sure two holes would be any better tbh. The hole needs To be enlarged so liquid can be taken in on each draw

jeff has been trialing this for a couple of weeks 2 holes work's by letting the juice through both sides thus getting more fluid into the carto

I use DV pg mix. My thoughts are that the because the holes are too small the surface tension is too strong over the hole hence such a hard draw is need to pull some juice in and then it works for a while. Bigger holes would mean less surface tension making it much easier for the juice to flow

Im back to my dct and will be picking up a few new cartos to experiment with on sat. I can see how both ideas would work. Two holes means air displacement in the carto is different. As you suck on the mouthpiece the air is drawn from the bottom of the carto and through the hole in the carto. In theory. If the tension is too much it wont. With two holes the air is being pulled through the bottom and one of the holes but by doing this it can now pull liquid in through the second hole to replace some of the air removed by taking the draw,
The bigger hole would simply reduce surface tension and allow liquid to flow more freely as you said

Why? the carto-tanks aren't Joyetech invented items. They came about thanks to some 'independent thinkers' and people have been making versions of them for quite a while now.

They do, but like Stevie says the cartomizers are from a different company, TW have specified cartomizers with different size and numbers of holes which are being tested by TW now. The best way to vape is direct dripping on an un-bridged atomiser, but people want convenience these days. Tank systems go partway to fulfil this requirement, but as everyone has a different way of vaping, then the only way to make them work for everyone is to make the feeding system adjustable to suit ones vaping style. This has not yet been achieved, so at present, the only way to control the feed is by changing the way you vape to make them work, and this is done by the length and strength of the draw you take. For me, the single hole version works well most of the time, but there are occasions when I had to take a couple of "cold" draws to get the liquid to move into the cartomizer.

Just as you said that jeff I thought why dont we have an adjustable cartos?
Like the carto has say a 1.5mm hole. But it comprises of two metal cylinders. the inner one will move. If you want more liquid though you twist it to open it more or can twist it to close it which will increase and decrease the size of the hole as you require it.
I know it would take some work to perfect it so it can be mass produced but i think something like that would be easy enough to manufacture

I had thought of the "Bunsen burner" type adjustment. My solution would too technical, and have a piezo spray nozzle (like injet printer).. I can see it now.... The Tornado eGo-I......

The Ego Injector lol I can see it now
yeah but the way you would adjust the flame of a bunsen burner by moving the metal ring over the hole to increase or decrease air intake would be the same idea im on about but would be for liquid flow rather than air.
