Hi to everyone, as you are aware the Patriot Range will no longer be available in the UK
And the donations for Help For Heroes will be no more.
What I would like to propose is a check box at checkout for £1.00 so that if a customer wishes they can still make a donation every time they make a purchase and Totally Wicked UK can then forward it on our behalf. You can’t do much with a £1.00 these days
But every customer donated a £1.00 just think what help could be provided to the many
Services men and women, who is injured in conflicts.

Please post you’re thoughts on the idea

Andy

I think that would be a great idea - like the Missionfish donation option on eBay.
Yeah - I'd welcome it.

Absolute great idea, those US/UK guys on the front line are doing a great job, wether you agree with the reasons why they are there or not, it aint their fault, they're just doing the best they can in the situation they find themselves in.
So for me giving a pound on every order is nothing in the scheme of things but added together would do a great service to them brave soldiers who need the help, so cmon TW, lets get this sorted for them  Wink

Thank you, Nick, StevieD, caz, Ben, skitz848, for your comments,
Would have liked more feedback but most forum members don’t seem interested.

My best mate is out in Afghanistan just now so this means a lot to me, as it may for Ben, and any other service men on the forum. If you have family or friends out there it puts a whole different perspective on the idea

I'd like an option, for sure.

I'm a big H4H supporter and know a few out there.

Andy

Your right there Andy,my brother served in Iraq and it was a worring time alright, just heard an amazing story last night, My Neighbour has just died ov cancer (rip) and his family were all here, his brothers son has just recieved a top medal for bravery saving an iraq 5 year old child, apparantly he wandered in to a fight going on between us and the Taliban ,got frightened and ran towards the English troops, The taliban shot him coz he ran towards the English and not them, 5 years old ffs.
The neghbours brothers son ran out in to open ground, dived on top of thiis child, picked him up and brought him back to safety being shot twice in the process. They are both fine now, there bravery never ceases to amaze me,this soldier was 20yrs old,not all kids are a waste ov space.

They already do it on the U.S. site.  One dollar for every bottle of Patriot Range liquid you purchase.

Maybe a PM to Jason would speed the process Wink

At an old local store, they put together a "Home Kit" .. The store bakes cookies, and things can be donated and sorted into boxes. Everything from gum to flash drives .. everyone gets something. All boxes end up really assorted, but worth the same amt in value. It helps the stores sales, and you can even make your own box. They then drop it off at a local army recruiting station and they send them to random soldiers .. Most of the soldiers that get them have little family, and don't get care packages at all. If you make your own box you can include your info and almost all the time a thank you note is received back.

I haven't been able to do this for years because the store is now 3200 miles away from where I am now, so I sometimes just send the store some cash around the holidays so they can buy stuff in my stead, but if I could donate online towards the same type of cause, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

I know this is an old topic but how about the round up option? say you get a .50 or a .75 end number and are given the option to round up to the pound in a donation. afaik it is a fairly common thing with retailers.

I think it is a great idea I would even check that box after I purchased a Patroit range liquid.
Rounding up is a good idea too but I think that is alot more work for TW.

I'm +1 to all the giving a £ for each purchase made on the site Smiley

I don't support the/a war, but I have the outmost respect for men, who has found something the believe is worth dying fore, such as the right for every human being having the right to freedom Smiley

I sure hope TW goes ahead and do this thing Cheesy

Yeah - I'd welcome it.

That is a great Idea. I'd absolutely check the box to add $1 to each order I made. So do you propose to do this on both UK and American Sites? I just noticed that you used the pound, or euro symbol not the dollar $ So I just assumed your from England or somewhere in Europe. But yes, such a good Idea. Let me know if you need any help making this happen,

Dominos the pizza chain has an option to round up your payment to the closest pound and that extra money goes to charity. Eg you pay 10.31, and you can round it up to £11 and 69p goes to charity.

Hi Folks,

Now I have your attention...

I know I've bunged an exclamation mark on this one, and called it free sex, all to grab attention so apologies if this isn't what your your expecting, but the original topic is one pretty close to my heart.

Help for Heros donations, amazing idea in what ever form it takes be that rounding up to the nearest pound or donating a quid or even both, but there are other military charities out there doing great work and relying on local stores, local pubs and individuals to run round in circles doing the leg work in their free time many of which are pretty much unsung, and don't get noticed until the world turns on its head and either your arriving back in UK and tucked up in a hospital bed at QEHB or you get the knock on the door or phone call every parent, wife, husband girlfiend, boyfriend, son or daughter dreads.

I speak from personal experience here, while I was lucky enough to return unharmed from each operational area I've visited, some good mates weren't, and neither was my son, he caught a 40mm fragmentation grenade fired from a Taliban UGL at a distance of 2ft back in May, this on a Tuesday morning around 10am UK time, big thanks to our US cousins and the Ranger MERT squad who had him and his 5 mates airborne and in. Field hospital within 30 mins of the incident, by 15:00 on the Wednesday he was back in UK and tucked up in QEHB, with a small zip lock bag containing his phone, I'd card, passport and other odds and ends he'd had to hand I on arrival in theatre and pretty much nothing else atall. This is the standard situation for lads who get medevacced out of a war zone back to UK.

H4H provided an MP3 player some T shirts, a hoody and shorts, his regiment provided similar along with wash and shaving kit, and trainers and the like, Kath the cake lady (a truly and amazing individual) chipped in with some of the best cake ever as she does regularly on the ward she is also registered as Cakes for Casualties (wrist bands available through QEHB)

Troop aid supplied some proper useful boys, socks, wash and shave kit, t shirts shorts, hoody rucksack that is ideally suited to hanging off the back of a wheel chair, a mobile phone charged and with a tenders worth of credit on it, I know a lot of this sounds daft but it's all usefull stuff.

Band of brothers is another wee charity and works closely with H4H but picking up the baton when the lads hit the rehab stage by providing items tailored to help them through physio and pt sessions

Pilgrim Bandits another small military charity doing sterling work for the wounded

These are just some of the options out there, interestingly enough as the guys can't smoke on the wards, and are encouraged not to smoke at all as it potentially slows recovery cheap rechargeable ecigs are dished out to smokers to help, I can't remember what brand they are but they are pretty crap to be honest so perhaps another option is to use the dosh to fund these? .

I suppose my main poi t is this H4H are a great charity and do amazing work, but they are also a huge charity with a great many donation from all manner of businesses and individuals, there are other smaller charities out there doing equally sterling work on a shoe string, being supported. By local buissiness and individuals who donate time and goods rather than cash into the pot donations to these small but equally deserving charities will make a huge difference,

Just a thought, either or they get my cash anyway.
