Hey guys.  Ive been sat patiently waiting on new ego c parts poping up on here to buy a new base/cone for my C atty's becaue after loosing 1 with a battery attached ive just had the 1 left and it gets continues all day use..  Well ow i have a problem. its stuck to the top of a pass through i want to take it off to clean it up but its on their tight.

any ideas on how to get it off??

Also while I remember it appears that the Central spike in the middle of the cone has become disconected or something where its sitting in the top of the bat while the outer ring of the base spins instead of unscrewing

Well, a pair of pliers would do the job I'd have thought? If you don't have one to hand, I used to have a similar problem with the SD 510 adapter getting stuck in tank attys! I simply jammed the adapter into a door (between the hinged side and the door frame) and twisted the atty until it came loose.

Hardly glamorous but gets the job done Smiley

yeah I went with a needle nose pair of pliers and it ended up with pulling off t he outer ring and leaving the central spike (not sure what else to call it tbh) stuck in the top of the battery.  Well now i have that unscrewed and am trying to work out how to put it back to gather tightly enough so that it will screw back onto the battery.

Hey Hiigy,

Shouldn't be too much of an issue to get it back together.. Sounds like your base ring got jammed onto the passthru battery threads huh? Just that I had a similar issue with the Plinth of my DCT getting jammed.. Also on a passthru batt? When I checked.. It appeared that the batteries threads were messed up. I assume by 'central spike' you're talking about the Atomser itself huh? Just that's the only 'spike' aspect on an Ego c? Unless I'm totally misunderstanding what you're saying? I probably am!  Roll Eyes one of those things, where a picture definitely says a thousand words! Lol..  Grin

I would just set up as normal.. screw the base ring onto the battery not too tight, then sit the mini atomiser into the base ring, (in only needs to rest securely, not screwed in or pushed down hard) then screw on your cone over the top and away you go?  Smiley

That's how I do mine anyway, I don't find the C Attie to be particularly fussy about its positioning?

Doubt that's helped much.. But thought I'd have a go anyway!  Wink

Cheers.

If the base of the cone becomes jammed on the battery again, just use a blade in the air slots to release it, this will cause less damage than pliers.

hello hiigy  Smiley
just a suggestion for future reference...
hold your cone with the wide part uppermost; drop your atty into place,
screw your cone and atty nice and tightly onto the base ring,
then when you attach your base ring to the battery you need not over-tighten.

If you attach the base ring to the battery, put the atty in the base then attach the cone, you over-tighten onto the battery when you tighten the cone.
Just sayin'

If u take a look at the battery part of the cone assembly just under where the atty heads sit u will see a circlular piece of metal in the very centre that would make contact to the brass bottom of the atty thats what i was refering to as a spike because I was miffed at myself and stressed out trying to work out how to fix it wanting a nic fix Tongue.  the whole of the base was stuck on spining freely but not but stuck on none the less.  I had to pull the base off leaving the "spike" on the pass through then unscrew the spike from the battery.

now I have the problem that they are not connecting correctly to the atty heads meaning I have to press down the cone for the connection to the battery to allow the atty to fire off correctly.

Anyways I just want to say ty to tw cs.  They are bloody amazing.  I rang em to see if they knew a work around to last me a short while until they had a stock of replacement parts.  Well they are going to send me out a new atty cone assembly to see me over until the stocks arrive.  I was starting to doubt if the prices on totally wicked was worth paying seeing as they have a higher mark up than a few other sites i wont mention.  Well Nathan ty its much appreciated he was patient with my rambling piss poor explenation of what was wrong and the service was great.
