There have been several threads about having a Vapours Lounge in the UK and I thought it would be interesting to see just how popular one would be, and where would be the best UK location to have one? My apologies for not putting North and South Scotland, but I didn't realise until I was at the bottom of the selection list, and I didn't want to type the whole lot out again (sorry ) It is only a bit of fun, but if you're reading this thread, then you must be as interested as me

Hope it would be possible, just think a TW lounge in every major city, ok maybe every town a bit like burgerking etc how cool would that be. Well i put 10 to 50 mile as a round trip on scotrail would cost an arm and a leg

Also, if it would be possible to add, "See Results" so that those of us not living in the UK can see the results without having to skew the tally.

Gawd - I'm clueless here! Can you expand on the term skew the tally please VapinMazo? I don't see any way of changing the poll once it's started, but maybe someone more experienced can help me out?

South Wales - no limit (but I'd rather they opened it in Swansea of course ) I'd quite happily travel to Swansea from Chester Nick - I love it down there! I used to cover South Wales in my surveying days and Swansea was a favoured port of call (excuse the pun). I'm guessing that you're nearer to the Mumbles side of the city than the Bon-y-maen side (is that the correct spelling?)

Skew, distorted or biased. Tally, a reckoning or score.
If people who are unlikely to make use of a Lounge in the UK, i.e. those who don't live in the UK, vote just to see the results, the results would have less meaning.
I've never set up a poll here either so I'm not sure how it is done but I have seen polls here where there was a link available that when clicked on, would show the results without having had to vote.
I think a Mod, Darth Vaper or Caz might be able to modify the poll although I'm not sure.

I ave an idea! If you want to see the results, then click on the check box next to ==== England ==== and that would give you access to view and not count as a location in the poll

I'd go as far as Manchester or, preferably, Birmingham
No sure where the West Midlands fit on that poll though!

OOPS! maybe the extra NE < 10 miles could be changed to Midlands . . . . . Darth . . . . . . Daaaaarth! I was getting ever so concious about the length of the options list when I was doing it, and I (embarrassingly) had the Midlands written down, but overlooked it - sorry again Unfortunately i'm not driving at the moment so the travelling thing would probably be limited to 0 -10miles.
Maybe I should offer to run a free shuttle service to compensate for missing out Midlands I'd go as far as Manchester or, preferably, Birmingham No sure where the West Midlands fit on that poll though!
Maybe you could work out how far you are from the compass point that you wouldn't mind travelling to in the list, add a few miles to counter magnetic North , deduct a few for magnetic deviation and go for that one If I ever do a poll again, I will sit and think about it for more than a nano second!

Your side is very much the desireable side as we both know I remember surveying the Bon y maen Inn back in the 90's, the pub was standing on a piece of waste land and there was a council/ police CCTV camera an a huge pole outside pointing at it! I had to park outside on the waste land until the owner arrived to meet me. Whilst I was sitting there, all kinds of faces appeared at the perspex windows of the pub (yes, plastic windows tell a story!), and some chaps came to the door and beckoned for me to come and have a drink inside. I duly declined and did feel very uncomfortable with all the goings on and couldn't wait to leave. The owner eventually arrived and took me inside to be greeted with the wall of deadly silence from the punters. In not too polite words, he shouted to this large bunch of silent destroyers that I was OK and that I was there to do him a favour. Before I knew it, the whole pub wanted to buy me a drink and be my best friend! Apparently, they were all working around the corner on a building site, and they thought I was the DSS checking them out lol! They said that the only people that usually go to Bon y maen wearing a suit are the CID and benefit office spys! Needless to say that I haven't had a great desire to go back there, although it has all probably changed now, so I may be unjust in fondly slating the place So, your garage it is then Mr Nick O Teen

They said that the only people that usually go to Bon y maen wearing a suit are the CID and benefit office spys! LOL - yeah, it's a real fun place, full of real fun people - if you want to blend in, you need at least a shell suit, 5 days stubble, and an advanced state of dental decay. Turn up in a suit, and you're going to need police protection (even the police travel in groups.) Don't know if the pub's still standing (like I say, if I can't avoid passing through, I don't slow down enough to enjoy the scenery,) but given the popularity of arson as a traditional cultural pursuit (they burnt the community centre down earlier this year,) they'll have steel shutters and razor wire up by now if they have any sense. Lately Swansea's rather cast off the reputation as the car crime capital of Britain it cherished back in the 90s, but in Bonymaen they like to keep the old customs alive, and I've still never been up Kilvey Hill without seeing at least a few burnt-out motors, despite the recent attempts to smarten it up with a nature trail and sculpture park. I'd rather be posted to Helmand frankly - more chance of a good night's sleep at least, and you are actually allowed to shoot back. Needless to say that I haven't had a great desire to go back there, although it has all probably changed now, so I may be unjust in fondly slating the place It hasn't changed for the better I'm afraid - most of the ordinary folk (any who can afford to anyway, since you won't get much for a house you're moving out of there,) have been forced to move out now, so it's mostly just the ferals left now So, your garage it is then Mr Nick O Teen Think I'd be lucky to fit more than 2 or 3 people in there at once, given the amount of crap I'm storing in my garage

Ahh, but I bet it's good quality crap Nick? I have visions of huge bottles (glass) of absinthe flavourings, a vintage motor (with its wheels) and maybe a vat or two of a decent Shiraz? I'd settle for a shot of single malt, a bag of nuts and decent conversation though It sounds like the punters that I met in that Bon y maen pub have gone on to have lots of sprogs then lol! One alarming thought though Nick - if this thread comes up on Google, and someone had the morbid curiosity to actually search the words "Bon y maen", will they come and burn down my avatar?

A lot of rusty tools and implements, a couple of broken cyclemotors, and an assortment of homebrew batches that didn't turn out quite right, and are just mellowing for a decade or 2 in the hope they improve with age. I'd settle for a shot of single malt, a bag of nuts and decent conversation though It sounds like the punters that I met in that Bon y maen pub have gone on to have lots of sprogs then lol! I assume the local economy is entirely based on child benefits (well, apart from the drugs and burglary of course.) Any female over 13 who isn't pregnant or pushing a pram is something of a novelty. One alarming thought though Nick - if this thread comes up on Google, and someone had the morbid curiosity to actually search the words "Bon y maen", will they come and burn down my avatar? Don't worry, they probably can't read anyway In fairness, some will claim that it's not all bad, but it has to be said that the rest of Swansea doesn't have a very positive view of the place at all (and even the author has to admit in the comments that "your right,Bonymaen aint as good as I made it out!") It may have a proud past, and for all I know it might even have a promising future one day. But the present Bonymaen is, alas, neither proud nor promising.

That was an intersting link Mr O Teen. You could try vaping the mellowing home brew So child benefits are paid out to children and their mothers at the same time then It's a scary. scary planet that we live on . . . . . .

I've just read through this thread and feel quite depressed... I was born in South Wales and spent much of my childhood in Mumbles, the descriptions of Llansamlet and Bon y Maen sound appalling and I'm glad I no longer live nearby. I wanted to go and work for Decadent Vapours (because I love them!) but now I've had second thoughts! However I can solve your Vapers Lounge problem; come to beautiful Mid-Wales. Wait for a sunny day (that, however, could be the sticking point!) and you can all come and join me in my garden and we'll vape ourselves silly.

Llansamlet's okay (though there's not much of the old village left - it's mostly a tidy but rather characterless Enterprise Park now.) But yeah, Bon-y-maen is definitely best avoided (it is fortunately an exception, not the rule.)

Aw guys, Cardiff isn't that bad nowadays... they make Doctor Who there... Just watch out for the Evil Weevils It was a lovely idea too. ...you can all come and join me in my garden and we'll vape ourselves silly. Llansamlet's okay (though there's not much of the old village left - it's mostly a tidy but rather characterless Enterprise Park now.) But yeah, Bon-y-maen is definitely best avoided (it is fortunately an exception, not the rule.) I'm up for garden vaping with or without umbrella and wellies Bon-y-mean sounds like the perfect place to store all that nuclear waste they've never worked out what to do with! Failing that, perhaps we can get the Spanish to run an organic cucumber farm.

A garden vapefest would be great! A gazebo would be in order for this fine english weather though!

Maybe's a stupid question but what would you get at a vapour lounge? Aside from the obvious of course apart from meeting with other vapers and being able to buy things, what else would be offered? Just looking at the responses as to how far people would travel I'm surprised at the distances some would go!

I've checked out the current results for Wales and see that 10/50 miles is most popular, I can see that my garden in Mid-Wales is currently the favourite choice as I'm most likely to be within reach of Northern OR Southern Welsh vapers and believe it or not, the English are welcome too! And overseas visitors would be a treat. The offer's always open, bring your wellies and I'll stick up a marquee!!! Remember to bring a bottle too if you want to really chillout, the hospitality is great here.....

i don't think so? well actually maybe if it would mean i could try diff flavours and find one i like to buy but then i wouldn't go back, i don't see vaping as a social thing where i would go see other vapers. i vape when i'm in the house or out with friends

Can't see the point TBH, I take it by lounge you mean a room with sofa's ? my house has that !
Now, an e-cig shop in the south east, now were cooking, sick of all the postage costs for everything round here.
Just cant see a fascination in a lounge sorry, unless it sold beer, i'm with the other poster, its not really a social thing is it.
The ideal would be a shop and lounge, even then, I'd only travel 5-10 mile otherwise i'd get it posted.

i second that ! as my local will not allow vaping as they claim it will encorage others to begin smoking in there!!! i do however enjoy a ride up to t.w in darwen with a couple of vaping mates twice a month , to stock up , vape and chat to staff and other customers about the subject of vaping, and to the new chap behind the desk[sorry forgot ur name] - hope ur settling in ok , u were doing a great job of keeping the MANY customers happy , and to the person who wrote b 4 about the coffee maker- i also belive its for show ! infact i think its hollow lol

Wow, this thread brings back memories. Half my family is from south Wales, and I remember spending my summers belly boarding at Llangennith beach. I love south Wales, and I would move there if I could get a decent job. I might plan a trip to see some relatives in September now Regarding the store, I don't suppose there is anywhere to go around Milton Keynes. I am trying to convert as many people as possible to create a stronghold.

Swansea would only go there if DV attended with freebies.
as a starter why don't TW and DV do a travelling roadshow lounge,

A Vaping Lounge would be great idea , in every town seems a bit unrealistic for a start , as it needs i suppose quiet a bit of investment to open even 1 per county . I live in Dover or the Gate to England how some call it .Normally i would have suggested a location within a town centrally in Kent .but which one , Kent is quiet large my first idea was Canterbury But i also have in mind the location should be easy to find and in a attractive Location , i'd say for Kent and even for Londoners the ideal location would be Bluewater Kent , With over 13,000 FREE car parking spaces and just 2 miles from the M25 , Puplic Transport is a option too with good train and bus links .Do your shopping, there are many great shops there(330 UK and international shops and restaurants ) ,i am often to find in the store with that fruit as logo and after you done your shopping relax in the Vaping Lounge , so i'd think its not only good in terms of location , but also ideal to get a couple visitors too by now more then 30 of this forum so around a 5th of all voters by now voted for a location in the south east and south east is Kent or?

I would be nice if I could go somewhere in Swansea to be among friends. That said, I don't make a big deal about my vaping and pretty much do it anywhere. I obviously wouldn't if someone said something or there was a sign to say I couldn't but I vape in The Quadrant, on the bendy bus, I've vaped continuously on National Express coaches, in the grounds of Singleton Hospital, nobody has said anything. In fact, people have asked me about my strange looking "gadget" and I'm happy to spread the word about TW.
I could use some pens with my orders. hint .. I've passed all mine and the business cards onto enquiring minds.

Just pop a request in the "special instructions" box on your next order, I'm sure they will oblige, I got a supply of business cards to hand out, just by asking.... I'd pop in to say hello if you want to open up a lounge in Swansea, hon

york would be good, though the york games workshop has become an unofficial one when its just the regulars in there, 3-4 of us vaping away painting and sat at the gaming tables.
london and brighton would also be awesome, get a decent cocktail list and maybe some food, hell open it in york and I would work there I would just want a wifi connection and a discount on tea as I am on a masters and so free all day and could work from the lounge. lol

While the idea of a vaping lounge is sound I have to say that I've not had any issue vaping in pubs, clubs or venues in and around Milton keynes where I live. I either ask them and vape freely or I stealth vape. Just to clarify though, everywhere I've asked have either allowed it immediately or asked for a moment while they check. One club even went online to check.

Besides which, if you travel more than about 30 miles in the UK people start to talk funny......regional accents are VERY localised.

Been in London last week and saw a petrol station, when I saw the prices, I thought "I'm definitely not moving there!". France is approaching the 2 euros/ Litre (must be about £1.70) I personally wouldn't travel more than 20 miles, which gives me the choice between 3 regions down in Surrey

A vaping lounge .... What a fantastic idea but what I would like to see is some sort of convention where you could go and chat to other vapors and TW and others could promote their products... With everything online it would be nice to meet other vapors etc

Spent £8.50 p/w on GV, Rizla's & filters. Don't see it'll be cheaper, but see it as a healthier more accepted alternative. Smoked between 10-15 per day. My first purchase ... Tornado-T.

Build one next to TW in Blackburn! it;s south facing and would be great in the summer (IF WE GET THE SUN) we would never run out of vape and there is room to do it, each table should have built in chargers for your batteries, and should have a good range of Non alcohol drinks for the people who drive.
Vape on Vaping on!

Would definitely be good to have one in the north west. I won't argue with Blackburn Catweazle as I live in Burnley
If there was one at major cities such as Manchester then I would come. Just think, all the money we save from not smoking we could afford to drive a bit. Ideally a max of about 30-40 miles with easy access via motorway.
Either way, I'd have loved to go to vapefest but it's a bit too far as I'm still a newbie and would like to know more and meet people along the way.
This is where it becomes a social thing and I like this.
